//------------------------------// // First day of school // Story: Adventures in the human world // by Dark Nightshade //------------------------------// The next day Candy Burn woke up early. She git dressed in some of the clothes Rarity had made for her, went down stairs, reheated some pancakes and syrup, started a pot of coffee and sat down and ate. Spike walked in a minute later. "Hello," he said. "Hey," Candy Burn said. "By the way, I was meaning to ask you, what are your plans for today?" Spike shrugged. "I don't know," he said. "You girls have school for the week, and it would be weird for the students to see a talking dog." Candy Burn shrugged. "I think you're forgetting us," she said. "I'm candy corn, Twill Weave is a piece of cloth, Taissy is a rifle and Floriba is a rose." "Good point," Spike said. "Still, that might weird people out a little too much." Candy Burn was about to respond when Celestia shuffled in. "Hi," she said. "You've already made coffee? Nice." As Celestia poured a cup of coffee, Luna and Taissy walked in. "So, you two ready for today?" Luna asked. Candy Burn and Taissy nodded. "Good. Now, we have your schedules for the next semester, which is also the last. You do have a few classes together, but not many." Candy Burn nodded. "Almost summer. Forgot about that. That's good," she said. "Can we have the schedules?" Celestia nodded. "Let me go get them," she said. As she exited the room, Twill Weave entered the room. "Hey," she said. "Are you two ready?" Candy Burn and Taissy nodded. Celestia and Floriba walked into the room "Hi, everyone!" Floriba said. "Everyone's dressed. Good." Candy Burn nodded. "Of course. The first day of school in a parallel universe," she said. "This is going to be interesting." "Yeah, eat up," Celestia said. "School starts at 8, and the ride there is about 7 minutes, and we need to be there early." 30 minutes later, they piled out of the small van that Luna and Celestia had rented. "Nice building," Floriba commented. "It is rather nice," Luna said. "Anyway, let's go get you 4 set up!" They walked through the school, showing the girls what was where, and who taught what class, and meeting a few of the teachers. The girls recognized a lot of the teachers from Equestria and Ponyville, but there were a few they didn't recognize. Then there was home room, which, fortunately, had most of the human Elements of Harmony bearers. Pinkie was the only one that wasn't there, but Celestia had said that Pinkie was in their home room. As the girls sat down, Rarity smiled. "Do you like it?" she asked. "Like what?" Taissy asked. "The clothes," Rarity said. "Oh, their good," Candy Burn said. "Nice and comfortable. These bra things are interesting." Rainbow Dash snickered. "Not to mention large," she said. "You really do follow after Fluttershy." "Um, thanks?" Candy Burn said, slightly confused. "Anyway, what do you do for fun here?" "We play music," Applejack said. "Ah'm a base player." "Cool," Floriba said. "What about you, Rarity?" "I play the keitar," Rarity replied. "It's like a combination of a guitar and and a piano." "Got to keep it classy," Floriba said. Then the bell rang and Cheerilee stood up. "Ok, class!" she said. "We don't often get news like this so close to summer, but we ha e some new students!" The entire class looked back at Candy Burn, Twill Weave, Taissy and Floriba. Candy Burn tried to hide behind her hair, and Twill Weave shrunk down. "Do you mind telling us a little about yourselves?" Cheerilee asked. Taissy stood up. "Well, me and my sisters are from Equestria," she said. Most of the students started murmuring amongst themselves. "And we were brought to life with an animation spell." "Is that why she has a lantern in her hair?" a yellow guy with dreadlocks asked, pointing at Twill Weave. "Yes," she said. "It helps me see across the veil." "The what?" a guy with blue hair and lighter blue skin asked. "Come on, really?" The first guy said. "The veil. The barrier to the other side!" "You can see dead people?" a blue girl asked. "Hear, really, but yes," Twill Weave said. "My name is Twill Weave, by the way. My sisters here are Taissy, Candy Burn and Floriba." "Who are your parents?" a yellow skinned blue haired guy asked. "My parents are Rarity and Applejack, and their parents are Twilight and Fluttershy," Floriba said. "The Equestria ones," Rarity said. "Yes, the Equestria ones," Taissy said. "So what's wrong now?" the blue skinned girl asked. "The Sirens aren't returning, are they?" "No. That's not important," Twill Weave said. "But the Sirens aren't returning." "Anyway, class, all homework assignments must be turned in at least a week before school ends, otherwise you won't get a grade," Cheerilee said. "Fortunately for you, there won't be that many assignments this semester." The class cheered. "But they will be harder than previous assignments." Then the ball rang, signaling the passing period. The next few classes, Home Economics and Science were both very intresting, with kids (and the teachers) asking the girls about how they were alive and differences that they might have from normally born kids. When lunch rolled around, they had been asked so many questions, and still being asked them, it was hard to focus on the lunch. But the rest of the day was going to be different, since the girls didn't have any classes together. And that is where friends were made.
