After 15 years have passed, sorrow, depression, death, and tragedy were spread throughout the land. However, one night at Canterlot, when all is quiet, Twilight Sparkle, the alicorn princess who was thought to be dead, slowly opened up her eyes and slowly tried to get back on her hooves. However, the glass lid that was sealed in her coffin prevented her from getting up.
"What the? Where am I?? Hello??? Is any pony there??? HEY???" Twilight yelped as she was pounded her hooves on the glass lid. "Oh Yeah! That's right!! My magic." Not a moment too soon, Twilight remembered her magic and blasted her way towards freedom.
Upon seeing magic shooting up into the night sky from a distance, one of the Unicornian guards took notice. "Hey!! What's up with that light??" One the Unicornian guards asked Morning Blade, who was on patrol with him.
"I don't know what that is but we better check it out!!" Morning Blade acknowledged as he ordered three more of his guards to accompany him during his immediate investigation.
As she struggled out of her coffin, Twilight collapsed on the ground, looked around, and found herself in the middle of the Canterlot Memorial Gardens. Looking back at the coffin, Twilight saw her date of birth and her decease date in the front of the coffin. "My decease date?? But that means...." Twilight exclaimed to herself, as her eyes widened.
"You've been dead for 15 years," A familiar voice spoke to Twilight, finishing her sentence for her. Twilight turns around to see Discord standing a few feet away from her.
"Discord?! What are you doing here?! What's going on-UGH!!!" Twilight asked but not before she started having pain all over her body. It turned out that her immediate pain came from the fact that her body was reactivating itself.
"I know I have a lot of explaining to do. But first, we have to get out of here right now!!! Some pony's coming!!!!" Discord responded as he snapped his claws. In just an instant, Discord and Twilight disappeared in a flash.
After Discord and Twilight disappeared, Morning Blade showed up at the very same spot where Twilight's grave was at. "WHAT IN THE NAME OF SIR BLUEBLOOD JUST HAPPENED???" Morning Blade said in a stated of shock. Instead of seeing Twilight's corpse, Blade sees an empty coffin and a shattered glass lid lying a few feet away from the coffin.
"I don't understand, I thought that Princess Celestia left her little bitch to rot in that glass casket," Morning puzzled. He didn't know what to do until one of his men came up to him to follow up in this bizarre scene.
"Uh sir, you might want to come take a look at this," One of Blade's guards said to him as he pointed at the ground. Morning Blade came up to see a foot print of a cloven hoof and a dragon's footprint.
"Discord!!" Morning Blade presumed. "He must've been there too."
"Sir, what are your orders?" One of the Unicornian guards asked Morning Blade.
Not a moment too soon, Morning Blade issued the following order to his guards. "I want you men to find Discord and bring him in for questioning, look everywhere if you must. I don't know what happened here, but I've got a very bad feeling about this!!" Without hesitation, Morning Blade's guards scattered in groups of five all over Canterlot, attempting to capture Discord.
"General Morning Blade, what's up with all the shouting??" A startled voice grunted behind Morning Blade. As Morning Blade turned around, he saw Amadeus Blueblood in his nightgown, half-asleep and feeling groggy. "I'm still trying to sober up while under the influence of alcohol and I'm trying to sleep in my room. This better be good or else."
"My apologizes Lord Amadeus, but a ray of light fired up into the sky and when I went to see what was going on, one of the memorial graves was empty," Morning Blade responded to Amadeus.
"I hope it's not the grave of that tyrannical harlot," Amadeus said in a slurred speech.
After giving it some thought, Morning Blade made a response. "Sorry sir, but for some reason the corpse of that harlot is nowhere to be found at the moment. Not to worry, however. I have already dispatched some search parties to go after Discord for interrogation."
"And why does that Draconneques freak have anything to do with this??" Amadeus said while intoxicated.
"Because Discord's footprints are shown near Twilight's grave," Morning Blade answered.
After hearing all of this, Amadeus got totally livid with Morning Blade, with his face turning red. He then started glaring at Morning Blade before making his speech in front of him. "You better pray they find him. And you better not tell any of this to my daughter Majesty or she will have your head. I mean, it's bad enough that Twilight attempted to destroy Equestria in our presence and now this? Well, you better help your men with this search and make sure they succeed or else!!!"
"Understood, my lord," Morning Blade acknowledge with a salute as he left the Memorial Gardens without saying anymore.
Somewhere in the slums of Canterlot, Discord and Twilight appeared in a shadowy corner near the city streets.
"Let's hole up in that abandoned school. No one will see us there," Discord told Twilight as they both went inside the building while he carried Twilight on his back. Inside, Discord used his magic to summon drapes to seal off all windows and some plunder vines to barricade the doors.
"Hey, didn't this place used to be Celestia's school?" Twilight asked after seeing all of those familiar designs. Despite Twilight remembering that this school used to be the very same one that she studied in, she saw burnt walls and furniture, shattered windows, torn-up books, and all sorts of debris lying on the floor.
"It used to be, until a group of terrorists came up and almost burned this place to the ground," Discord answered.
"What else happened when I was gone?" Twilight asked Discord.
"I'm afraid things did not go well. Not just for you, but for everypony else. Rarity and Applejack were forced into slavery by the Evil Queen's will. Under the Queen's orders, Rarity was forced to make dresses every single day without any sleep or any food in the Queen's castle, though I was still able to smuggle some snacks into her room unnoticed, and Applejack was forced to work overtime, along with the other earth pony slaves, at the Canterlot farms. However, I was able to save Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie from getting captured and forced into slavery. As for Rainbow Dash and Spike, they're both locked up in prison at Manehattan and they're serving a life-sentence in prison for attacking the Queen."
"Oh Sweet Faust, not my beloved Spike!!!" Twilight panicked in silence. She remembered that she had raised Spike the dragon, as her adopted son. Upon hearing the horrible fate of Spike, it made Twilight worry about his safety.
"I'm sorry it had to be this way Twilight, but I could not save all of them from their cruel fate. Earlier, while you were gone, a civil war broke out between your people and the traditionalists. To make matters worse, they rallied the armies of Unicornia, which were led by their evil Queen, to force all of Equestria to bow at their hooves. So much death, destruction, and slavery occurred left and right. As for the royal sisters and Princess Cadence, because of how powerful the Queen of Unicornia really is, they fought a losing battle and they, therefore, surrendered, gave up all of their rights, and have been stripped of their powers by the Queen herself; even I could not defeat them, since they almost took away my chaos magic."
"So who is this Queen that you're mentioning?" Twilight asked Discord.
"Her name is Majesty Blueblood and she happens to be an alicorn raised by her only father Amadeus Blueblood," Discord explained to Twilight.
Upon hearing all of this, Twilight started growling to herself thinking that she had lost everything.
"Amadeus Blueblood, why that no good, ruthless, psychotic, son-of-a-bitch. I should've blasted him a million times when I had the chance," She didn't forget about how Amadeus and his son, Prince Blueblood, made her suffer earlier. She still remembered the sorrowful look on Gallant Heart's face before he slit her throat and ended her life. "I don't know what to think anymore. I mean, I can't stop thinking of the fact that Gallant Heart was hesitant to kill me."
"Well, I can't really blame him for killing you because I learned from your brother that Gallant was forced to do this in exchange for his brother's life." Discord answered.
"What?? Really?" Twilight said in shock. "How long have you known this?"
"I was eavesdropping on Shinning Armour for quite some time before everything in Equestria fell under this shit storm." Discord said.
"By the way, how's my brother and my family doing? Are they okay?? And what happened to Flash Sentry?" Twilight asked. Discord shook his head.
"I'm sorry Twilight, but Shinning Armour and your parents are being held in a concentration camp which is north of Canterlot and are forced to work in the mines there. As for Flash Sentry, he committed suicide, unable to live on without you by his side." After hearing what happened to her family and her colt friend, Twilight started crying in silence with tears coming out of her eyes.
"Oh, Discord. I don't know what to do anymore." She started sobbing on the ground unable to say anymore, until Discord sat by her side and patted her head with his lion paw. "I can't believe this is happening. After all this time, after everything that I did in order to fulfill my destiny, I feel so hopeless."
"You're not hopeless, Twilight." Discord protested. "You already showed me, Trixie, Sunset, and Starlight how a true leader should behave. That is, by treating others fairly, giving them things to do without hesitation, without being sinful in all sorts of ways, and by not abusing the power that you possess. It's just like what Princess Sunbutt said: You are an inspiration for us all, Twilight."
"Yeah, but still, maybe if Celestia had never made me an alicorn princess then none of this would've happened." Twilight said as she continued sobbing. "I mean look at me, I couldn't save my friends. I couldn't save my family. I couldn't even save myself!!!"
"I know what you're getting at and that handling leadership is a huge responsibility, but that's no excuse for you to get discouraged or negative." Discord said in a calm voice. "You know, when you reformed me, I'm actually grateful for that because you gave me a second chance to understand friendship just like any other pony would. So, there's no point living in the past anymore because you already taught me that friends always stick together and help each other out when the situation turns dire, right?" After hearing what Discord said, Twilight eventually stopped crying and wiped away her tears before looking back at him.
"Well, even so, I still don't know if there is any hope left for Equestria anymore. After what you said about Amadeus, Unicornia, and Queen Majesty, it sounded like they have already won."
"Actually, I'm afraid that's where you're wrong Twilight Sparkle. They may have taken over Equestria, but since you came back from the dead, I do believe that there is still hope left." Discord replied with a wide grin on his face. "When they overthrew the royal sisters and Princess Cadence, I was able to escape with my life and I helped some of the ponies and creatures that still believed in your reforms escaped Queen Majesty's reign of terror. Also, I did help Princess Moonbutt escape captivity and helped her get her powers back from Queen Majesty."
"But how??" Twilight asked.
"Long story, short. I had one of the former Changeling Republican soldiers disguised himself as Morning Blade after knocking him out cold while freeing Princess Luna and got her out before Morning Blade could recover a few months after their surrender." Discord responded.
"I'm glad! It serves him right!!" Twilight smirked. She hadn't forgotten that Morning Blade was also one of the guards that wouldn't stop harassing her.
Discord continued with his speech with Twilight. "Every pony and creature that fled Majesty's presence went down to the sewers. With Princess Luna leading them, she formed a revolutionary group known as the Lunar Republic and started a rebellion against Majesty Blueblood and her forces for the freedom of Equestria. She also wanted me to continue to help free the other ponies and creatures that are still trapped within Unicornia's grip, while she keeps Majesty's forces at bay." Impressed by what Discord said, Twilight finally realized that she had just found an opportunity to get her revenge against the ponies that had betrayed her.
"So, are Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie with Luna right now?" Twilight asked Discord.
"Why yes, they are. I'm sure they will be happy to see you again alive and well." Discord said while smiling.
"I can't wait to see them again. I've been gone for so long and I wish to make it up for lost time." Twilight said with a bit of eagerness.
"Very well." Discord acknowledged Twilight's eagerness. After seeing Twilight Sparkle encouraged once again, Discord gets up on his feet and walks over to a rug on his right. With one tug, he removed the rug revealing a trap door. The moment Discord opened up the trap door, it revealed a ladder that leads to the sewers.
"This trap door will lead straight to our hideout down in the sewers. So, follow me and stay close." Discord said to Twilight. Discord went down the ladder, with Twilight climbing down next. Twilight used her magic to close the trap door and then covered it up with the rug.
