Nightmare Moon and King Sombra reappeared next to Twilight Sparkle’s home. It was just a little library. Unmistakable.
The pair snuck up to the door and opened it a little. It creeked, due to not being oiled often. They held their breath, only to let it go when the snoring continued.
The couple snuck into Twilight’s bedroom. Spike was snoring, while Twilight slept peacefully. Her mouth was opened a little, some drool slipping out.
Nightmare’s horn glowed in a dark blue magic aura. Twilight was surrounded by the same aura. This time she stirred a little, but did not wake up.
The couple started to sneak back with their prize, but froze when they remembered the baby dragon. Spike, was it? That fool took the Crystal Heart for Twilight and gave it to Mi Amore. He should pay. Alas, he is the pet of my Twily.
The sleeping dragon was levitated in a dark red aura. It did not faze him one bit, though. The little guy could sleep through practically anything.
With both figures in the auras of the elders, Nightmare teleported them out. They reappeared by the Everfree Forest.
Twilight had finally been awoken from her slumber. She groaned and shook her head. Her confused gaze laid where her sleeping assistant was, then to the forest.
She had not yet seen the other two figures present. Twilight shook her head once more.
“Wh-where am I?” She mumbled to herself.
Although she asked herself this, and was not expecting an answer, the unicorn did.
“You are by the Everfree, my dear,” a famine voice replied.
This startled the poor mare. The unicorn jumped three hooves high.
Twilight spun around, only to wish she didn't.
What she saw was two of the most evil creatures she had fought. First her irises laid on Nightmare Moon, who had a smirk on her face. Then her irises were on King Sombra.
"You two!?" She gasped. Twilight got into a fighting stance, her horn glowing with a good amount of magic it could kill a pony. A regular pony. It would not hurt the two figures or herself though.
King Sombra laughed at Twilight. "Dear, look what good old Twily is trying to do!" He exclaimed, making Twilight stop.
Nightmare giggled. "Twilight, dear. Do you really think you can do something against us?"
Twilight stood back up into her regular stance. She had a confused expression on her face.
"What do you two want? Are you going to try to corrupt me or something?" Twilight practically shot out.
Even if they try, I'm stronger than that. Celestia knows.
"Deary, would like to tell her?" King Sombra asked Nightmare, smirking a sinister smile.
"Of course, Sombra," Nightmare gladly accepted.
"What are you going to tell me? Spit it out already," Twilight demanded.
Nightmare rolled her eyes but began to talk anyway. "Twily, who are your parents?" She started off with.
Twilight looked confused for a second. She was torn between telling them, or not.
"Twilight Velvet and Nightlight. Why do you ask?" She finally responded.
"Err. You're wrong they aren't your parents," King Sombra said with a smile.
"Wha?"
The two elders laughed. "Why do you think we asked you that? Because we're your parents, Twilight! I thought you were smarter than that!" Nightmare exclaimed between laughs.
Sombra, on the other hoof, was laughing for a different reason. The look on his daughter's face was priceless.
"You should see your face right now, Twily," The evil unicorn said.
Twilight, who was still shocked, shook her head. "Don't call me that!" She shouted.
Her parents only laughed in return. "Twilight, dear, do you not believe us?" Nightmare calmly asked.
"Of course not!"
"Then let us show you. We can show you the truth. Come with us Twilight."
Twilight stood still for a few moments. Her gaze laid on Spike. What about Spike? Should I go? I mean, if I go then I can learn!
And then you can join them.

Twilight stopped her train of thought with herself. She walked towards her parents and nodded.
"Okay, I'll go." She confirmed.
"Excellent choice, my dear." Nightmare said.
She bet down and nuzzled her daughter. It was motherly, yet with such grace and regalness.
I could get use to this. Maybe I should just accept it and do whatever they ask.
Wait what!? Stop thinking that!
There was a laugh in her mind. It sounded like Twilight, but with an evil tone.
While Twilight was dazed out into her mind, her parents whispered to each other.
"Nightmare, it seems to be working. With that evil side planted into her brain, it will keep breaking the good from her," Sombra whispered.
"Indeed. Once I add my magic into it, she won't be able to resist. But, I will do that after we show her a thousand years ago. She will see herself, but more beautiful."
Twilight finally stopped thinking to herself. Her parents saw, and stopped talking.
"Are you ready to go, dear?" Sombra asked.
"Yes, but one thing. What about Spike?" Twilight asked.
Sombra growled at the mention of the dragon's name. "That idiot is not coming."
Twilight's ears dropped, but she nodded. Guess that's fair. Spike did ruin he chance of victory.
"Let's go, mother. I'm kidding, I refuse to say that. Or dad, so don't get any ideas," Twilight said.
Her parents smirked at each other. Yet. We will prevail, Twilight Sparkle.
The family trotted into the Everfree Forest. The walk was uneventful, except for a pack of Timberwolves. Every other animal seemed to be scared to come out.
"Nightmare, why aren't any animals coming out? Are they afraid of you?" Twilight asked.
Nightmare had just shot the last wolf made of wood. Her horn stopped glowing and they began walking again.
"They aren't just afraid of me, my little star. They are afraid of us. Me, you, and your father," She finally responded.
The lavender unicorn's jaw dropped. "Me?! Why are they afraid of me?!"
"They know that since you're with us right now, you are dangerous. You are one of a kind, dear. You just need to, give in."
"What was that last part?"
"It was nothing, Twilight. Your mother said nothing," Twilight's father snapped.
Twilight dropped the topic for the time being, but she made a mental note to ask again later.

Twilight was so busy talking to herself, she didn't even notice her father's horn glow. Nor did she notice his dark magic hit her head, powering the evil side of her even more.
"We're here, Twilight," Sombra said.
"Wha? Oh! Right," She walked into the castle.
Nightmare flew above Twilight and into the throne room. Sombra was not far behind, only a few hooves behind.
"Here, Twilight. Let me show you," Nightmare said, horn glowing dark red instead of her regular blue.
She backed Twilight into a wall, before Twilight decided to fight back. "No! You said you would show me, not corrupt me! Stop it! You two are nothing but evil ponies!" She shouted, shooting raw magic at Nightmare.
"That's it," Nightmare said. She flew up and her horn glowed with threat.
She shot Twilight in the head with magic. The evil side of Twilight grew, and the regular side died.

Okay. Do what you must. I will join my mother and father. I am Twilight Sparkle, daughter of Empress Nightmare Moon and King Sombra. I am daughter of the shadows.
As soon as she thought those words, her evil side cackled. A dark red magic aura surrounded Twilight.
Her horn sharpened, red at the tip. Her mane became as black as night, along with dark red instead of pink. It became a mist like Nightmare's.
Twilight's fur darkened, becoming a dark purple. She became an alicorn, her wings bat like and black at the ends. Silver armor appeared on her,.
Her horseshoes were like Nightmare's, but crystalized and silver. Her chest plate was like her mother's too, but crystalized and silver. On her head was a silver crown with a dark version of her cutie mark.
The flame of magic around Twilight dissolved. She came back down and opened her eyes. The alicorn's eyes were dragon like, and had the same colors as Sombra. She gave a sinister smilethat showed two sharp vampiric fangs.
"How do you feel, my little star?" Nightmare asked.
Twilight smirked. "Never.... Better.... Mother."
Her parent smirked at each other. "Good to here Twilight," Sombra said.
"Please, that is a name for a petty pony. I am Nightmare Nova, Princess of Shadows," Nova said.
And so it begins. Twilight Sparkle, star pupil of Celestia is dead. In her place is Nightmare Nova, Princess of Shadows. And so the fun begins.
"Mother, father, may I have the permission to corrupt my friends?" Nova asked.
"Of course, Nova," Sombra replied.
"I think the Pegasus Rainbow Dash should be part of the Shadowbolts," Nightmare said.
"Why, of course! That mare would be perfect to be the captain," Sombra agreed.
Nova nodded.Of course Rainbow Dash will be captain of the Shadowbolts. Pinkie Pie, well she can be the jester. Rarity will be my personal designer. Applejack can be the cook. And Fluttershy. She can be the bucking nurse, because she is a pet doctor. Of course all of them will have to be corrupted, and made beautiful, like me. Then get Celestia. That jerk, there is room for only one princess in Equestria, and that princess will be ME!
And then of course there will be a empress or Queen and a King. Queen Nightmare Moon and King Sombra. Along with their daughter, Princess Nightmare Nova. I like it.
"Nova, dear. Stop being in your train of thought," Nightmare commanded. She does it too often.
"Right! Now, when do we get to Ponyville?" Nova asked.
"I say by tomorrow night. Let them realize you are gone. Then the fun begins," Sombra said.
"Great idea, father," Nova agreed.
And so it begins. Twilight Sparkle is no more. Nightmare Nova is here instead. Waiting to take Equestria.
