But a rift opened in the middle of the city, there was apparently an error in the targeting system causing the Ion cannon to fire inaccurately." *Someone talking in the back ground* "We just got word from command, apparently the rift stabilized into a active portal that leads somewhere. We have no idea where it goes but apparently something is giving off a high energy level, the same level as a Nod Disruption Field. They have no idea what is on the other side, but they were guessing it could lead somewhere else on Earth or possibly another pla-" *Indecipherable yelling nearby* "What do you mean that there is a desert on the other side of that rift?!" *More yelling* "Its like a Scrin wormhole? Why haven't we setup defenses around the thing yet? We have no idea what is on the other side!" *indecipherable talking* "They want to send somebody through ?"
