//------------------------------// // A Broken Sunset // Story: Anomaly: The Only Sunset // by TwiWonderfilly //------------------------------// We all know the story of Sunset Shimmer, but how did she enter to this world and how in the world that there is only one of her? Without proper explanation, many people became more wary of her to the point of presuming that she is a MURDERER. Chapter 1: A Broken Sunset   Canterlot High has recently been hit with a powerful battle between Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer. The battle destroyed the front hall of the school. Thankfully, there are no casualties, but it ends with a price. Sunset has been humiliated in battle and she lost her status. Luckily, few are willing to overlook her past and befriend her… or so we think. ⟡∮⟡ JUST BECAUSE SHE PUTS SUNSET IN OUR CARE; JUST BECAUSE SUNSET REDEEMS HERSELF DOESN'T MEAN THAT WE CAN TRUST HER IMMEDIATELY. ⟡∮⟡ It’s a beautiful day outside - birds are singing - flowers are blooming. Workers are currently fixing on the broken door. Students enter the school uncomfortably, needing to wait in line to enter, as some parts of the doors are unusable. But other than that, behind the singing and blooming no longer hides sorrow or fear. The students finally experience joy and the feeling of togetherness thanks to Twilight. Jocks and nerds are walking side by side, neither trying to use each other. Basically, everyone becomes friends with each other… except for Sunset.   Sunset’s previous status as the powerful bully before Twilight arrives has cemented her status as the most hated and feared among every student. After her humiliating defeat, no one dared to befriend her. No longer is she feared, but her past actions are currently unforgivable to them. Not even she is safe from her new friends, as they still find her to be untrustworthy, especially given how fast she redeems herself. Right now, the Humane 5 are currently on their way to their classroom, walking through the green hallway when they see Sunset picking a book from her locker.   “Darn! I can’t take this anymore!” Rainbow Dash appears to be frustrated at petty things, pulling her hair until it becomes messy.   “What is it, Sugarcube? I don’t reckon it’s maths again?” Applejack replied.   “It’s not about maths, it’s about her!” Rainbow pointed her arms towards the girl in red and yellow hair. Luckily, Sunset wasn’t looking when Rainbow points her arm towards her. However, her voice was loud enough to gain Sunset’s attention. She turned around and see her friends and decided to greet them.   “Hey guys. What’s up?” Sunset greeted them casually with her hand raised.   “Oh, hey Sunset. How are you doing?” Rainbow Dash quickly changed her more vocal attitude of Sunset into a friendly one. “Hey, we are kind of late to class. So, we’re just gonna go, OK?” Feeling tingling from talking to her, she dashed immediately away from Sunset. The others then went with her, giving Sunset a wave before then.   Sunset only waved back to her new friends before they left. Then, Rarity decided to know why Rainbow acted strangely in front of Sunset. She walked up in front of her and tried to reprimand her actions towards Sunset.   “Rainbow, Darling, what’s with your attitude towards her?” She suspects that Rainbow hated her. Rainbow Dash sighs and relaxes when she’s confronted by her. She started to explain why she acted like how she did before.   “Her attitude seems kind, but maybe her intentions aren’t. She might strike us when we are vulnerable. I knew it. I’ve experienced it before when I first met her. We experienced a hurdle in friendship before she asked for forgiveness. Then, she backstabbed me by humiliating me...” She looks away from others when describing her. Others are skeptical when she said that Sunset humiliated her.   “OK, she nearly got me and got Pinkie instead.”   Fluttershy decided to jump in and tried to reason with Rainbow Dash.   “I know this is hard for you, especially what she has done to all of us, especially when she break our friendship, but we have to give her a-”   “Just because she puts Sunset at our care; just because Sunset redeems herself doesn’t mean that we can trust her immediately.”   Everyone was stunned in silence at how afraid Rainbow is, covering their mouths when they hear this.   “I know how you feel. Even we don’t trust her yet, but Twilight gave us her trust since she knew that we’ll give her a chance.” Rarity comforts Dash.   Not far away from Sunset’s locker, Sunset overheard what they said. She lowers her head in sadness when she heard what her friends have said.   “So… even they do not trust me.”   When she looked at her classmates, one with glasses and bluish hair and another with green hair she tried to greet them, only for them to give her the cold shoulder. Her day couldn’t get any greyer. She then proceeds to walk away, skipping class to the one place she can find peace…   Or… so she thought…   Few hours later, students are overjoyed that the school ended. The floor rumbles as students are either heading towards their extra-curricular classes or heading straight home, since the day is the last day of the week. One of those students heading home from school is Fluttershy. She is seen talking with a guy, waving goodbye at him before going to her locker. Near her locker, she saw the janitor’s room opened, yet no lights shine from within.   “Uhmm… is there someone there?” She shrieked in fear as she is frightened at the dark room. Currently, no one is near her, or even realized that the room is opened. Every students currently rush towards their destination. She tried to find someone to accompany her, but no one paid attention to her. With hesitation, she finally decided to open the door. The door created a perturbed sound that causes her skin to shiver. Slowly, the room is lighted from the hall and she saw something… disturbing…   “*Scream*”   The light shines on Sunset. Her orange-yellow skin is covered with red blood, her face is bruised, and her sun emblem on her shirt has been torn apart. She was unconscious yet alive, thankfully, but the bruises may indicate physical abuse from someone. Many of the students resent her, but one must be sick enough to even think of hurting her.   Fluttershy immediately picked up her phone and dialled her friends, hoping that they would respond. She gasped heavily, panicking at the sight of her friend being physically attacked. She accidentally dropped her phone, causing a loud crack in the floor, but the phone is alright. She then immediately called her friends.   “Come on… please someone pick up…”   However, none of them are there and the teachers are having a meeting. She decided to bring Sunset to her home, where she will take care of her.   “Who… who would do such a thing?”     Two hours have passed. Fluttershy brought her friend home and cleaned Sunset’s bloody arm and puts a block of ice on her friend’s bruised face. Soon after, the gang reached Fluttershy’s house and saw what happened on the sofa.   “Landsakes! What happened?” Applejack questions her.   “I don’t know… All I saw was that she was beaten up badly…” Fluttershy answered, but fear mixes with her tone.   “Who… who could have done this?” Pinkie added.   No one can tell, as this probably happened while they all are in class. Among the six, only Sunset was separated among them, meaning that none of them actually knew about what was going on with Sunset.   Suddenly, Sunset weakly wakes from her unconsciousness. She placed her hand on her head, shaking her head while wondering what happened. She opened her eyes and noticed that she was in someone’s house. Then, her friends look into her face, wondering if she’s alright.   “Oh crap.” Sunset recognizes her situation now. “This… this isn’t what it looks like.” She attempted to defend why she was all injured.   “Really? Cuz it looks like someone gave you a huge beating.” Applejack replied back.   “Look! It’s nothing alright!? Something hit me real hard and that’s-”   “It doesn’t take a specialist to realize that someone scratch your skin to the point of bleeding.” Pinkie added.   “Who did this?”   “How long has this happened?”   Many questions were asked and Sunset loses her patience.   “Look! Just leave me alone!” Sunset became furious at her friends trying to help her.   Fluttershy wanted to help Sunset, “We just want to help and we can’t help if you don’t talk-”   “Just because she puts Sunset at our care; just because Sunset redeems herself doesn’t mean that we can trust her immediately.” Sunset mimics Dashie’s voice while being furious. Knowing this, The others looked at Rainbow Dash with a menacing look, knowing that it was all her fault. Rainbow looked shocked, not only because Sunset eavesdropped on what she said, but copied it perfectly.   “Uhm… look Sunset, trust isn’t something that’s built on a whim. We’re not in a fantasy world where everyone is singing about trust or anything, but we can’t trust you if you keep secrets from us.” Rainbow tried to console her, but to no avail. Everyone glared at Rainbow Dash as she worsen the situation.   “Look! If you want to trust me, then just leave me alone!” Sunset then burst through the door, and slammed the door shut. The others looked stunned and wondered what just happened. They ran outside to find her, but by the time they got out, Sunset was nowhere to be found. The girls agreed to split up to find her.   For hours the girls tried to find her, but all they can see is the dark sky, no cars are approaching and the only source of light are from the lights beside the street. Somewhere in the top of a building, Sunset stands on the edge, wishing that this never happened.   “Now that they are suspicious of something, I only hoped that he will not devastate my life more.” Sunset’s eyes became watery as tears flow down her face. “They can’t know what’s going on… or My SECRET is OUT!”
