//------------------------------// // Episode 21: Dragon Souls // Story: Elements of Heroism: Season 2 // by Bahamut0 //------------------------------// Burst and Inferno were playing a round of Yu-Gi-Oh! when they heard roars bellow through the sky! "Well. Wanna see what craziness is going on in town today?" Burst asked. Inferno smirked. "Dude. You KNOW I'm down for this town's daily craziness. Let's check it out!" Inferno and Burst threw the door to Burst's house open, and stared in awe at the sky! Dragons were flying across the sky! "Whoa. Never thought I'd ever see so many dragons flying around in one day! Hope there's an air traffic warning in place." "It's pretty rare to see a dragon migration." Burst said with a nod. "Hey, I've got an idea for a road trip! How about we tail the migration? It'll be fun!" "Niiiiice." Inferno said with a grin. He then spotted Twilight and the girls watching the dragon migration. "Yo Rares! Enjoying the show?" Rarity beamed at Inferno. "Nice to see you too darling. It truly is quite the sight, isn't it? Even Fluttershy came out. With Ty around she's become quite more out-going as of late. And who can blame her?" Inferno nodded. "Glad to see you're all enjoying the Dragon Migration. You know, Burst and I were thinking of tailing the dragons to their migration site. It'll be one heck of a road trip!" "In that case...could I come too?" Spike asked nervously. Twilight was shocked! "But Spike! Those dragons are way bigger than you! Not to mention you're just a little dragon!" She was about to continue when Burst put a hand on her shoulder. "Twilight. Spike doesn't know much about his own kind. And after the birthday incident, don't you think it'd be a good thing for him to learn a little bit more about his people? Besides, he won't be alone. Inferno and I are gonna be with him every step of the way. And if any of the dragons try to mess with our bro Spike..." Burst summoned his Duelist Arms. "We've come prepared." Burst smiled down at Spike. "C'mon dude! Pack your things! We're going on a road trip!" Spike beamed, and rushed off to pack the necessary belongings. He regrouped with Burst and Inferno shortly. "All right! Let's hit the road! Hop on my back Spike! And hold on tight!" Spike hopped onto Burst's back, and was soon soaring through the air! "How's the view?" "This is so AWESOME!" Spike screamed at the top of his lungs! "This so much cooler than walking! Man! I can't wait until my wings grow!" Spike then smiled. "Huh. This is my first time hanging around other guys." "Well, it won't be the last!" Inferno chimed in. "Us and the other Elements of Heroism are your friends too Spike! Maybe we'll even help you get in some training too!" Burst smiled. "Just think of us as a big group of older brothers. That makes you our little bro!" Burst then caught sight of the dragon migration coming to a halt. "There we are!" Burst and Inferno soon landed, and Spike leaped off of Burst's back. "I think you'd better stick with the smaller dragons Spike." The trio caught sight of the large dragons thrashing about as they tried to find places to nap. Spike gulped. "...Good idea..." Spike soon found a group of teenage dragons, but they mocked him from living with humans. But, they did give Spike the chance at least to prove himself a real dragon. Burst and Inferno frowned at the teenage dragons treating Spike badly. However, Spike managed to soon find himself accepted among the group of teenage dragons. "I think we should still keep an eye on Spike." Inferno suggested. "No telling what kinds of stupid stunts or trouble those dragons could talk him into." Burst nodded. "And if they turn on him, we'll be there." The two set off to follow Spike and his newfound dragon company. Both Burst and Inferno froze when they saw them planning to steal a Phoenix egg. The two hoped that Spike wouldn't actually go through with it! They breathed a sigh of relief when they saw Spike refuse to steal the egg! The big red one, the leader of the group, was about to stomp on Spike! However, it was cut short from a blast from Burst's Twin Burst blasters. Burst slowly walked forth, and blew a wisp of smoke from his blasters' barrels. "You bunch of knuckleheads really shouldn't have tried to do that." Burst looked to Inferno. "They're all yours man." Inferno cracked a smile as he cracked his knuckles and drew his weapons. "LET'S ROOOOCK!" The teenage dragons froze in fear as Inferno charged at them! Inferno knocked two of them out with his sword, and fried another two with shots from his blaster! The dragons weren't evil, but they DID have ill intent. So they wound up taking minor damage. Inferno then turned to Garble, and pointed his sword at Garble's face. "All right now. Let this be a lesson to you. DO NOT. Pick on our little brother. Now. You're gonna leave before I break out another can of butt-whoop on ya. Cool?" Garble nodded frantically as he and his gang took off screaming! "And THAT, is how you rock the dragon!" Inferno said with a grin. "Up-top Spike!" Spike hi-fived Inferno before noticing the phoenixes giving him their egg to take care of. "Looks like you're gonna have a little bro of your own!" Spike smiled before frowning. "I guess maybe I'm not cut-out to be a dragon..." Burst knelt down to Spike's level, and put a hand on his shoulder. "No Spike. You are a dragon. But not in body. No. A dragon isn't defined by their race. What truly makes a dragon is their resolve for a cause, or fighting to protect what they treasure. Those that live this way have the souls of dragons. And you proved that today Spike." Burst smiled as he hoisted Spike onto his shoulders. "Come on. Let's go home." And with that, the three made their return home.
