//------------------------------// // Two Very Opposite Birthdays // Story: Broken Reflections // by CloverStarshine //------------------------------// Equestria; Morning (Twilight) It was a beautiful day outside, and the skies were clear. Birds chirped and the spring flowers bloomed. Twilight Sparkle awoke and yawned, smiled as she looked at Spike, happy at the sight of him. He was curled up in his bed with the newest comic of 'Power Ponies' opened on top of him. The lavender alicorn chuckled as she walked to the mirror and combed her messy mane. She then trotted downstairs, making her way to the throne room and prepare for breakfast, but was met by darkness, but why? It was morning, right? She lighted her horn, and as she did a party canon exploded, followed by her friends jumping out. "Surprise! Happy birthday Twilight!" said the five mares as they jumped. Twilight leaped a bit but calmed herself down. Which didn't last long due to the overwhelming surprise. "Girls! I can't believe this! You shouldn't have," said Twilight. "Well, of course we have to silly," said Pinkie Pie. "I rule number one of 'Pinkie's Rules of Party Planning' is to always surprise your friends on their birthdays!" "You have rules for planning parties Pinkie?" said Rainbow Dash. "Well duh," replied the pink earth pony. "How do you think I'm so good?" Everyone laughed at Pinkie's randomness. "Well thanks, girls. I don't know what to say," said Twilight with a smile. "Well darling, the fun doesn't stop here," said Rarity. "After breakfast we're going to the Spa. I have a coupon for a free service if it's your birthday." "And then we can have a good ol' race to get your wing muscles going," said Rainbow Dash with a sneer [Do you mean “with a smirk?” A sneer has the risk of sounding too aggressive when used against a friend], knowing well all the times she could beat Twilight. But maybe today she would give her a pass. Just today. "And then we can have some good ol' lunch down at the farm," said Applejack. "Bake ya a great birthday meal." "Then we can relax by the lake, and then maybe take a swim if you like," said Fluttershy timidly. "Then we’ll go down to Sugar Cube Corner and party hard with games and other things till the crack of dawn!," said Pinkie. "Or, maybe till 12:00 A.M since that's when the day ends." "Sounds wonderful, and I sure can't wait," replied Twilight with a smile. The friends came together for a group hug as Spike came in, rubbing his eyes holding his comic book and light blue blanket in his right hand behind him. "Uuggh," said Spike wearily. "What did I miss?" His eyes snapped open as he realized all the party decor. "Wait, is it Twilight's birthday?! Crap! ("Spike what language!," yelled Fluttershy) How could I have forgotten?!" The friends chuckled as Twilight rolled her eyes. "Wait what about Starlight?! Can't she come?!" said Twilight. Starlight was Twilight's pupil, a unicorn mare who little b little was making up for her last mistakes. "Oh darling, she wants to come but has some duties to do around her village," said Rarity. The village Starlight had lived in was governed, once not so long ago, by her. Only that everypony in the village all had their cutie marks stolen, by Starlight, and replaced by equal signs. Now Starlight was trying to make up with the inhabitants by helping around the village with whatever she could. "But she said she would come at around 7:00 to 8:00." "Oh, I can't wait," said Twilight. "Well, I guess we better get to eating our breakfast. Wouldn't want to mess up our schedule." Rainbow Dash coughed out the word 'egghead', then Applejack stomped on her tail. "Ow! What was that for?!," said Rainbow Dash. "Let off the teasing for today, Rainbow," said Applejack. "It's her birthday." The cyan pegasus gave off a chuckle. "Yeah, I suppose," she said. The friends giggled, had breakfast together, and then headed to the spa. Twilight could not believe how lucky she was to have such great friends. Fell Equestria; Morning (Fell Twilight) The sun began to rise over a wasteland of a village, the houses were very much in horrible state with torn roofs and broken windows. The only sight that contained any value, was a castle made out of crystals. A lavender alicorn with pierced wings and ears arose from her bed. Her mane, was spiked, colored blue purple with bright purple and magenta streaks. The tips were dyed in aqua, and she had a spiked purple collar around her neck with a magenta sparkle charm hanging under it. Her ears were pierced with silver sparkles that had sharp tips and the feathers of her wings were pierced with rings that had spikes around them. She had magenta eye shadow on her, and her tail was dyed in black. The alicorn kicked a bed that had a dragon with wings sleeping in. "Spike, stop being a lazy ass and get up!" grunted the alicorn. The dragon arose, having a spiked collar like the alicorn's. His claws, teeth, and scales where sharp and his slit eyes showed only hatred towards anyone. But the dragon was still young and was only the size of the lavender alicorn. "Fuck off, Twilight. Just cause you 'take care of me' doesn't mean I have to follow your shitty orders," said Spike. "Ha! I gave you life, and this is how you repay me?!" yelled Twilight with hatred and rage burned in her as she slammed her hoof on the ground. "Yep. After all, why should I give a damn?" said Spike as he lied back, giving a smirk. Twilight growled as her horn began to pulse with magic to kill the dragon, but she couldn't. He was useful to her, and he made her look even more dangerous. Plus, knowing that she was more powerful than him was what made him kept his in place. Even if he was bratty and selfish. But hey, weren't they all? Twilight teleported downstairs to make herself breakfast, not caring about the prisoner she held in her basement. After all, he didn't really matter, nor did anyone. But today was her birthday, and she would make sure everyone did what she wanted. But knowing that her prisoner, who she had to keep since Fluttershy wasn't free to look out for him, would die of starvation, she opened her basement and began to walk in. After all, if he were to die, they wouldn't be able to use his magic against other foes. Not like he had impressive magic like his sister. But hey, it was fun torturing him. As Twilight entered the basement, she threw the scraps in, not caring a damn about him as she walked back upstairs and slammed the door shut. Spike was found eating the rest of her breakfast, and Twilight stared daggers at the dragon. Spike growled at her, "You know, if it weren't for the fact that I am yet not strong enough to kill you, I would." "Let's just say, I'm prepared for when that happens," said Twilight, sneering. "Now where are my friends?! They have to be here now!" "Do I look like I give a damn?" said Spike, rolling his eyes. More rage built up in the alicorn, and as she blasted Spike towards a wall. He yelped in pain. Twilight stood above him and spread her wings, and the vine tattoos showed on them. "Let me make myself clear, you little shit," said Twilight. "I give you orders and you respond to them! Not only because I'm your superior but as well because I'm a princess! And you follow my command unless you think you can leave with stumps instead of wings.... Understood?" Spike would've shivered in fear, but he was used to this already that now. It just irritated him. He grumbled a yes as the doors opened, and a butter cream colored pegasus came in. The pegasus had ears pierced with black butterflies, she had a tattoo of a demonic looking butterfly on her chest. Her name was dyed dark pink and purple and it was raggedy. She had a red colored eye and teal-colored eye as her hooves were stained with blood, just the way she liked it. "Hello, Twilight," said the pegasus mockingly. "How is your day going?" "Oh peachy," replied Twilight sarcastically. "Just that this fat ass is giving me problems." Her head turned to Spike as her cold eyes stared at the dragon. "Well, too bad you don't have a respective servant like me," said the pegasus with a sneer. "Where is he by the way?" "Basement, chained to the wall," said Twilight. "Also Fluttershy, you do know it's my birthday. So I want everyone to treat me like I deserve, as a supreme. I also want these fucking bitches to get here." "And why should we? You're nothing important," said Fluttershy smirking. "Why I am way better at taking animals and creature and you? Ha! You can't handle a single pathetic dragon! And I can handle a draconequus? You're worthless." Twilight growled as she slammed the pegasus towards a wall and grabbed a knife, cutting her legs [Goodness! Twilight cuts Fluttershy’s legs with a knife? This is getting really violent]. "Never! Call me! Worthless!" Fluttershy chuckled as she slowly got up. "Well sorry for being kind enough to actually try and bend the truth. Now I want to get going your 'highness'." The pegasus laughed as she walked down, wobbling a bit due to her cut legs, to the basement, the whimpers of his fear filling her ears with music Twilight scowled at this. 'I'm not worthless! I’m superior to every pony. Taming a fucking dragon or draconequus means nothing! I'll make sure Fluttershy pays,' thought Twilight, as a smile came upon her face at the thought of making Fluttershy pay. She watched the pegasus pulled the draconequus by a collar, who followed behind as tears streamed down his face. Twilight smiled at seeing him suffer, and then trotted outside with a list of everything she wanted to do. If her stupid friends wouldn't come for her birthday, why should she care? After all, she could just enjoy it for herself. It was more fun
