After Watching "Anon-A-Miss"

by KR Chrome

What the hell did we just watch?

The Rainbooms were just done watching a weird Christmas Special and did not know what to make of it. First, they were all in it. However, none of them remembered ever filming it.

The package had arrived in front of Pinkie Pie’s house with a card on it

Watch with your friends.

From: Uncle D

Pinkie did not have an uncle named D, but she opened the package anyway. It was addressed to her and it was almost Christmas.

When she opened it, it was a blank DVD case with the title ‘Anon-A-Miss’. Thinking it might be fun to watch with her friends, she called them over.

And after watching it, they had some mixed feelings.

“What the fuck did we just watch?” Sunset asked with a cocked eyebrow.

“Yeah, we were all in it and acting like a bunch of jerks,” Rainbow concurred.

“Oh, my. I was so horrible to Sunset,” Fluttershy whimpered. “I’m sorry, Sunset.”

“That’s OK, Fluttershy. I’m sure you’d never do that to me.”

“If that’s supposed to be us, then someone needs a reality check,” said Applejack, offended by what they saw.

Twilight Sparkle (not the pony princess) could only adjust her glasses when they had slipped off. She had made some comments throughout the movie.

“I thought it was a nice Christmas special,” Pinkie Pie frowned. Seeing herself making Sunset cry like that was just terrible.

“Well, it was atrocious, even if it turned out OK in the end,” Rarity opined as she fixed her hair.

“There were just so many plot holes in that movie,” said Twilight. “I mean, I know you and Sunset had history, but I don’t think you all would turn your backs on her.”

“We would never do that!” Rainbow insisted. “This girl saved our butts from the Sirens!”

“If it weren’t for her, we’d still be at each other’s throats as the Dazzlings brainwashed everybody,” added Applejack. “Sides, I don’t want to ever think the worst of my friends ever again.”

“And in the end, it turns out to be Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo,” Rarity sighed.

“It’s like one of those movies that are rushed without proper editing and just put out to cash in on the Christmas season,” Sunset summarized. “But it does have a good lesson, even if the delivery is a bit terrible.”

“That people are horrible deep down?” Pinkie suggested. Her hair had wilted halfway through the movie.

“That we need to trust each other and give each other a chance to explain. Otherwise, a friendship will be broken,” Sunset said sagely.

“That’s a nice sentiment.”

“And seriously, if I was ever going to do something like that, I’d make it look like one of you girls was doing it,” said Sunset. “Seriously, ‘Anon-A-Miss’? Who thoughts this up?”

“Well, let’s just forget that movie. I need some brain bleach after watching that,” Rainbow said.

“Hm...” Pinkie turned on Netflix. “Any suggestions?”

Meanwhile, in his realm, Discord watched everything on his own TV.

“Ah, ‘Anon-A-Miss’. A what-if scenario. Too bad it was critically panned. Oh well. It was fun to see what they thought about it.”

Discord had sent the package to the human Pinkie Pie. As a Spirit of Chaos, he was aware of alternate worlds and could observe them. Unfortunately, that was the limit of his ability when dealing with other worlds. He knew where the mirror portal was, but going to the other world to cause a ruckus would not be approved.

Oh, he did not care about upsetting Princess Twilight Sparkle. Honestly, it was entertaining. However, if he ever upset his dear friend Fluttershy, well he would rather not.

So, he used his powers to observe a parallel version of that world. It was interesting to watch, even if the story was terrible. Something about Anon-A-Miss and Sunset Shimmer being suspected. Then being abandoned by her friends. It was quite heartbreaking to watch.

The girl tried so hard to be good, to show everyone she's changed, but it took someone spreading secrets to make her look like the bad guy.

Discord had used some free time to research about Sunset Shimmer. Like himself, she was once a villain. But while he wanted to spread chaos for fun, Sunset Shimmer wanted the power to rule and also have her revenge against Celestia out of spite. Like himself, she was also fired upon by the 'Rainbow Laser of Friendship'.

Honestly, the girl was pretty strong and smart. She managed to adapt in the other world, taking over a school, and showing everyone who was boss. Her portrayal in Anon-A-Miss was just so terrible. She still had that fire, so she would never have taken all those accusations without a fight. She would not have broken down and cried like that. She would've defended herself.

But she decided to hide. Sure, she went to confront her friends to convince them that she was not Anon-A-Miss, but the human versions of the Cutie Mark Crusaders decided to confess.

And then there was a happy ending.

Why were the human Crusaders not punished? Why wasn't Sunset Shimmer angry at her friends for dumping her? Why did Twilight not come through the portal to help? What were the teachers doing?

It was like the human Twilight Sparkle said. The story had too many plot holes. It just did not make sense and it made the characters look like terrible people. It made the Rainbooms look like idiots and it made Sunset Shimmer look weak.

So, it was just a huge waste of time. Discord could produce something much better. Something grander.

Hm...make his own movie? Could he do it?

Discord snapped his fingers and conjured up a typewriter. He put on his glasses and his raised his claws up to the typewriter.

"Alright, time to write my screeplay! I am going to win an award for this!"

And with 'Anon-A-Miss' pushed aside, Discord went to work on his script. He would make an epic story starring a handsome rogue like himself who became a better person. In the end, he won the heart of a lovely princess who loved animals.

This would be great!
