"I just feel like I was being a bit of a jerk," Sonata confessed, lowering her head abashedly. 
Sunset Shimmer arched an eyebrow at her girlfriend. "Really? Just a bit? Trying to hypnotize everyone into loving you is just a bit?"
The reminder seemed to sting. Sonata dropped her head even more and bit her lip. At this pitiful sight, Sunset couldn't keep up her stern charade any longer and she burst out laughing. "Oh, Sonata, I'm just kidding. Trying to hypnotize everyone into loving you is... well... it's nothing new for me," she sighed, memories of her own foray into villainy flashing before her eyes. "I know what you were going through, and I know how horrible it felt for you when you finally realized how wrong you were. I felt awful too. But my friends saved me, and now we've saved you. We know you've changed." 
"So... you forgive me?" She looked up with a hopeful smile. 
Sunset sat down next to the former Siren and wrapped a reassuring arm around her shoulders. "Dusky, we forgave you half a year ago, the very day all of that happened. Forgiveness is friendship, after all, as my friends taught me. And sometimes it's even a little more," she added with a blush, thinking of the relationship that had bloomed slowly but surely afterwards. "But part of forgiveness is forgetting. It happened more than half a year ago, Sonata.  Why do you think I'm still mad?"
"Um, I don't," she grinned. "I just wanted to make you feel bad so you'd hug me and I would get cuddles." She indicated Sunset's arm, still slung over her shoulder. "And apparently, it worked."
Sunset rolled her eyes, but she couldn't keep a tiny grin off her face as she leaned forwards and pressed a kiss to Sonata's cheek. "You sly devil, you."
