Once upon a time in the land of Equestria there lived two ponies, Starlight and Moonlight. Starlight and Moonlight were both sisters. Moonlight would rise the Moon, and Starlight the Sun. Then once the last sun and moon had set, Starlight and Moonlight died, leaving their duties to their younger sister, who was just born, Luna. Luna was an observer and always kept quiet. She never bothered with socializing or parties. Aside from a few close friends, she was completely alone. And she liked it that way. She could have peace and quiet whenever she wished, and didn't have to endure the judgement of others. One day, she earned her wings and horn and she got the gift of rising the sun. She wanted to find out about her sisters who had left their legacy. She went to the library and came upon a book. It was old and worn, with a thick layer of dust on the cover. She opened the book and found the diary of her long gone sisters. After reading the diary she was able to delve deeper and went on to learn various spells to help herself and other ponies with her magic. She became a very well-read pony, well, more so than before. Then one day, Celestia was born. Celestia was beautiful, social, and extremely smart unicorn. Her talent was recognized everywhere. Ponies thought they should have a duel. The winner of the duel would become Princess and learn all the secrets of their opponents spells. The day of the duel, Celestia won. She became princess and carried on the legacy of Starlight and Moonlight. She stole the duties Luna's sisters gave her, and Celestia rose the sun. But without someone to raise the moon, she could have no daylight. Knowing that except for her, Luna was most learned, Celestia named her Princess Celestia riser of the sun, and Princess Luna riser of the Moon. To this day, everyone praises Princess Celestia and people are only allowed to see Princess Luna in their sleep. Princess Luna only comes out for special occasions. While Princess Celestia is Raising the Sun, Princess Luna, the sister of Starlight and Moonlight, is becoming restless inside her soul. Soon the inner Luna will be released and must be put back to her original duties.
The story goes on. Young and lively, Princess Luna & and Princess Celestia battle many battles, ones with Discord, King Sombra, and Queen Chrysalis but they won. The battles that were fought were not wars with bloodshed, but ones with magic and powerful spells.
One fine day, Princess Luna came across a book. The book was old and dusty like her sister's diary. Except it looked even older, and 1 page was torn. She started reading it and came upon various spells. One of the spells, timos chromos was a spell that allowed somepony to virtually control time. It went like this,
King of Timos Chromos,
Come to me and give me my bidding,
The holy offering I shall give thou,
Will fulfill time and destiny altogether.
The spell allowed the user to warp and bend time to their will.Some villains would kill to have this, Luna thought. She shuddered at the thought of some of her enemies. She hoped she'd never have to fight them ever again. She pushed the thoughts out of her mind and turned her attention back to the spell. The spell was practically impossible. It required the finest magical skills, possessed only by Starswirl the Bearded, and even so, It was extremely hard and needed many hours of dedicated studying. A spell works like this, you use your horn and don't usually recite anything. But you see, this book was special. It had different techniques and captured things that were even more powerful almost than using a regular horn.
As time went on, Luna learned many spells of this book that helped her with many things even twilight and celestia had difficulty on. Soon Luna was changing the gears of time and flying faster than light. But at the end of the book, there was a warning. It read,
If you have been reading this,
your time has come,
To surrender to me.
if you are reading this,
you know who I am.
Signed a friend.
Luna worried that this might be her permanent enemy, the thing she was fearing. The thing that had brought darkness into her world.
Celestia's Sister.
Celestia's sister Caireann was an evil enchantress. The day Celestia was born she had an evil twin. When Caireann was born, nobody knew. Only the mother and father knew. Knowing that Caireann wouldn't ever be able to be as good as Celestia, they threw her out into the dark streets. Cair grew up there, never knowing that Celestia was her sister. On her deathbed, Celestia’s mother revealed the tragic event that had happened to her twin. Knowing that it was very easy to turn to the dark side, Celestia rushed to find her sister. When Cair found this out, she was furious with rage.
She decided to turn over to the dark side, and be permanent enemies with Equestria. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna tried to strengthen a force field around Equestria, but Queen Caireann always found ways to attack. Whether it was Discord, or King Sombra she always tried. That never meant she was to succeed.
Meanwhile back in Canterlot, Princess Luna was deep in her sleep. Her dream was terrifying and vivid, and though she didn't know it, Princess Celestia was having the same dream. They both saw a beautiful dark figure approaching towards them. She had on a cloak and had a horn and wings. Her flowing hair was white and she had on a crown. Though the princesses are thought to be the most learned, something new was born. Every form of attack was confirmed to be something bigger. All the plots of destroying Equestria had different thoughts and ideals but only one pony knew that all of them were connected. This pony was once created to destroy all evil.
Instead, she was doing the opposite.
Plot by plot she was getting closer to her ultimate goal.
And in both their hearts, the princess knew that she was about to reach it.
