//------------------------------// // Beware of Strangers/Witch Hunt // Story: The Disney Chronicles I: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs // by Dinodisneylover1 //------------------------------// Dwarf’s Cottage The Bedroom The sun shone through the window the next morning. The ponies and Snow White slowly opened their eyes, as Twilight yawned cutely looking around. Many of the ponies slept apart while Fluttershy slept beside Snowy. The soft fur of the yellow Pegasus helped Snow White sleep better. There was one who was out of bed earlier. “Good morning, everypony,” Twilight said. “Good morning, Snow White.” Everypony, including Snow White, replied ‘Good morning’ to Twilight. “Where is Applejack?” Twilight asked. “She went out of bed earlier, obviously,” Rainbow replied. It was then Snow White sniffed the air because she smelled something… Something delicious. “Can any of you smell that?” Snow White asked. The other ponies sniffed too, catching a whiff of this breathtaking aroma. “Mmmm, sure smells good,” Pinkie replied. “Wait! I know that smell; it’s pancakes!” “Really?” Rainbow said, wide-eyed. “Come on, every pony! Let’s go!” Rainbow Dash quickly rushed downstairs; the others were just about to follow until… “Wait! What are pancakes?” Snow White asked. “What?!” Pinkie asked, skidding to a halt. “You don’t know what pancakes are?” “No…” Snow White shook her way. Pinkie gasped in shock and instantly appeared face-to-face with Snow White. “It’s only one of “the” bestest food in the world… Next to cake.” “Come along, darling,” Rarity ushered. “We’ll show you.” Rarity trot out of the bedroom while the others followed. As they walked downstairs, they saw Spike and all the seven dwarfs already seated at the table. Just as Rainbow said, Applejack woke up early to make breakfast for everyone. She was indeed baking pancakes, flipping them now and then as the dwarfs and Spike waited patiently. “Just a few minutes, boys,” Applejack told the men. “First ones are almost ready.” Snow White and the girls took their seat at the table. “Good morning, everyone,” Snow White said. “Good morning, princesses,” The boys said in unison. “Good morning, girls.” “Did you all sleep well?” Twilight asked. “Like I said,” Doc replied. “We were very comfortable.” “And you, Spike?” “It was all right,” Spike answered. “I mean it was difficult at first, but luckily I fell asleep.” Sleepy patted the dragon’s head, just as Applejack arrives with the first pancakes. “Here you go, everyone and every pony. Enjoy!” As Applejack leaves to check the other pancakes, they each took a plate of the fresh batch. Of course, the ponies and little dragon knew about pancakes, but it was a new experience for Snow White and the dwarfs. The men watch Snow White take the first bite and her eyes went wide in wonder. “Say,” Snow White said. “This is delicious!” When the dwarfs heard that, they quickly grabbed their forks and started to eat. “My compliments, Applejack,” Doc replied, between bites. “Does this come from your world?” “They sure do,” Applejack answered. “Mmm, these pancakes are delicious!” Sneezy said. “It makes me smile even more,” Happy replied. Grumpy also took a careful bite, much like the night he tasted the soup. No words were needed as his facial expression said it all. “Ah’m glad ya’ll like them,” Applejack spoke, approvingly. “I’m making some more now.” “Hooray!” The dwarfs cheered. “So, what you guys doing after breakfast?” Rainbow asked. “We have to get back to the mine to dig more jewels,” Bashful answered. “It’s our work for the day.” “What kind of jewels?” Rarity asked, interested. “Oh, the usual,” Happy replied. “Diamonds… Rubies…” “You got diamonds and rubies here?!” Rarity yelled, excitedly. Everybody turned to her in confusion. Realizing how she acted, Rarity straightened herself and cleared her throat. “And what do you do with those?” “Actually, we don’t know what we dig ‘em for,” Sleepy admits. “We just keep digging.” “Maybe you could use some to pay for food and things,” Applejack advised. “Or sell them in exchange for bits.” “That’s… Actually, that’s not a bad idea,” Doc thought. “We can keep a few, then use the rest for the things we need. Why didn’t I think of that before?” The other dwarfs nodded, but as for Grumpy… “Gee, I wonder why?” Grumpy asked, sarcastically. “I would love to see the mine with all the diamonds,” Rarity said, ignoring Grumpy. “If you’d like, we can help,” Applejack offered. “Are you sure, ladies?” Doc asked. “Working in the mine isn’t something for you; it’s very hard work.” “Gimme a break,” Applejack retorted. “You know how many apple trees Ah can buck in a day?” “I’m kind of an expert in jewels,” Rarity explained. “Spike and I can help you find them easily.” “I’d love to come too,” Twilight offered. “Maybe Rainbow, Pinkie and Fluttershy too.” “Actually, Twilight,” Fluttershy speaks up. “I’d like to stay with Snow White to watch over the cottage.” “Are you sure?” Twilight asked. “Mmm-hmm,” Fluttershy nodded. “This way I can help Snow White with the chores, so she won’t be lonely.” “Oh, thank you,” Snow White smiled, patting Fluttershy’s head. “Alright, then,” Twilight said. “Any pony else?” “Nah, don’t see anything I can do around here,” Rainbow shrugged. “Count me in!” “Very well, then,” Doc said. “Thank you for your support.” Soon enough, Pinkie came in dressed like a miner. “Mane Six miners reporting for duty… WOO-HOO!!!” After breakfast, the dwarfs and the ponies coming along were prepped to leave, while Snow White and Fluttershy tended the cottage. All the animals were sleeping outside, when they heard the door clicked. As they walked away, Twilight, Fluttershy, Snow White and Doc were the first to step out as the alicorn inhaled the fresh morning air. “Now, don’t forget, my dear,” Doc explained to Snow White, seriously. “The… The old queen’s a sly one, full of witchcraft. So, beware of strangers.” “Are you sure you two will be fine?” Twilight asked, worriedly. “What if the queen finds you?” “We’ll be okay,” Fluttershy assured. “I’m sure the queen won’t find us here… I hope.” “Don’t worry,” Snow White replied, in a comforting voice. “We’ll be alright.” Then she took Doc’s stocking cap from his head, planting a kiss, and Fluttershy gave him a hug. “See you tonight.” Twilight giggled seeing Doc completely surprised. He giggled a bit before attempting to be serious again. “Uh, yes. We… Well, c’mon, men and ladies.” As both Doc and Twilight went on their way, the other dwarfs and ponies took turns saying goodbye to Snow White and Fluttershy. First came Bashful, who took off his stocking cap. “Be awful careful,” Bashful spoke. “’Cause if anything’d happen to you two I, I…” Bashful never finished when Snow White gave him a kiss while Fluttershy gave him a hug. “Goodbye,” Snow White said. “Oooooh, gosh!” Bashful giggled, his face turning red as a lobster. Fluttershy giggled, while the other dwarfs watch, and the ponies laughed. Grumpy, on the other hand, looked unamused. “Hah! Disgustin’!” Spike emerged next. “Be careful but have fun.” “We will,” Fluttershy assured, hugging him. Suddenly, Snow White kissed Spike’s head and the little dragon blushed. But he cleared his throat and went on his way. Along came Sneezy, who took off his stocking cap. “And be sure to watch out…” Sneezy began, then gasped. “To wa… To wa… To wa… Watch out!” Rarity saw and knew this meant he was going to sneeze again. She screamed and ducked behind a tree. Sneezy tried to hold it, as Fluttershy gave him a hug and Snow White planted a kiss. “Thanks,” Sneezy replied. Sneezy was still on the verge of sneezing as he walked. Dopey and Pinkie appeared from the door, the former tugging softly on Snow White’s dress for a kiss. “AHCHOOOOOOOO!” Sneezy’s sneeze blew Pinkie and Dopey back into the cottage, while Fluttershy crashed toward the cottage wall. Snow White felt the powerful breeze, but luckily wasn’t blown away. She giggled a little as Pinkie popped her head from the opening. “Bless you, Sneezy!” She called out. “Thanks!” Sneezy called back. Snow White saw Fluttershy planted backfirst to the wall, her eyes wide open and occasionally blinking. “Oh, my goodness! Are you alright?” “I’m fine,” Fluttershy replayed, shaking off the dizziness. “I’m not hurt.” As Fluttershy recovered, Dopey appeared again tugging Snow White’s dress and Fluttershy’s tail. He opened his arms wide. “You want a hug too?” Fluttershy asked. Dopey nods and Fluttershy happily hugged him. He turned to Snow White, pursing his lips with his eyes closed. Snow White grabbed him by the ears, planting a kiss on his head. Dopey smiled, even with only one tooth, happily walking along in his own dream world. “Hee-hee, guess somebody likes you,” Pinkie told Snow White. Snow White giggled as Sleepy approached. In the meantime, Dopey had just shook his dizziness away and rushed back inside through the window. Fluttershy and Snow White had just given Sleepy a hug and a kiss. Applejack and Rainbow came outside to say their goodbyes, when Dopey dashed ahead tugging Snow White’s dress and Fluttershy’s tail again. He opened his arms again but couldn’t wait for that second kiss from the princess either. “Dopey?” Applejack asked, confused. “Ah thought you already went with the others.” “Guess he really wants another hug and kiss,” Pinkie said. “Well… Alright,” Snow White giggled. Fluttershy hugged Dopey, as he pursed his lips. Once again Snow White gave him a kiss on his head. “But that’s the last…” But before Snow White could finish, Dopey ran off in a flash much to Rainbow’s wonder and confusion. “Wha…?” Rainbow asked. (Pause at 1:28) Snow White and Fluttershy were just as confused, when Dopey suddenly appeared at the exact spot. This time he only pursed his lips, but Snow White guided him toward the others. “Oh, go on!” Snow White said with a smile. “Run along.” “C’mon, little feller,” Applejack said. “Try to keep up.” “Yeah, before he gets too much,” Rainbow added. As Applejack, Rainbow, Pinkie and Dopey walked along, the other ponies, Spike and Dwarfs were already ahead. “I can’t wait to see your mine, Doc,” Twilight said. “I can’t wait to see all the jewels inside,” Rarity said, with sparkling eyes. “Yeah, I can already taste them,” Spike added, licking his lips. “You can taste them?” Doc asked Spike, confused. “Sure, we dragons eat gems,” Spike replied. “Back in Equestria, gems are a dragon’s favorite snack,” Twilight explained. “Well, I don’t think it won’t be a problem to give you a few,” Doc said. “If you do a good job.” “Really? Thanks, Doc!” Spike said, hugging Doc. “So how far is it to the mine?” Applejack asked. “It’s a long walk,” Doc answered. “But we always sing to kill the time.” “What song?” Spike asked. “I’ll start. You’ll get the hang of it.” Doc then belted, “HEIGH-HO!” and all the dwarfs began to sing, “HEIGH-HO!” Soon the little dragon and other ponies joined in, all except two who were waiting for a very special dwarf. Well, you know the rest. During that time, Grumpy secretly looked in the mirror to make sure he’s pretty as possible for Snow White. He put his stocking cap on and pretended to be all grumpy again. He strolled towards Snow White and Fluttershy, who waved toward the other dwarfs and ponies. “Good-bye!” Snow White called out. “Good-bye!” Fluttershy called out. Removing his stocking cap, Grumpy cleared his throat loudly drawing Snow White and Fluttershy’s attention. “Now I’m warnin’ ya,” Grumpy began. “And you too, pony. Don’t let nobody or nothin’ in the house.” “We promise,” Fluttershy nodded. “Why, Grumpy, you do care,” Snow White replied. (Continue music) Grumpy folds his arms, when Fluttershy began to hug him. Grumpy struggled to get free while Snow White grabbed his head and gave him a kiss. Grumpy pried himself free and marched toward the others. But after a few steps, his grouchy expression softened and before he knew it, he began to smile. He sighed, turning back to the human princess and yellow Pegasus dreamily. Snow White kissed on her hand and waved ‘goodbye’, while Fluttershy also waved. But then Grumpy snapped out of his gaze and assumed his grouchy ways. He stormed off when he suddenly marched towards a familiar pink pony and her blue Pegasus friend, who smirked at him. (Pause at 1:45) That’s right, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash saw the whole thing. The grouchy dwarf faced them one at a time, back and forth. “What are you two lookin’ at?” Grumpy asked, irritated. “The mine’s that-a-way. Follow me!” Grumpy walked ahead of the ponies, but they didn’t move… Not yet. “I saw that, Grumpy!” Pinkie called out. Grumpy skid to a halt and turned around incredulously. “What?!” The dwarf asked. “You may act all gruff, rude and grouchy, but you’re caring and friendly,” Pinkie explained. “Just as Snow White said.” “Looks like tough guys like you do have a soft spot,” Rainbow said with a smirk. “Maybe all females aren’t poison, after all.” “Don’t be ridiculous!” Grumpy argued, gruffly. “I’ve no idea what you two hay-eaters are talking about. Now c’mon, the others are waiting.” Grumpy walked further when he accidentally bumped into a tree. His big nose got stuck, while Rainbow and Pinkie couldn’t help but giggle. Grumpy freed his nose, before facing the ponies. “Hah!” (Continue music) Grumpy kept walking with his eyes closed. “Grumpy!” Pinkie warned. “Look out for the…” But it was too late. The dwarf fell and a splash could be heard. “… Stream.” Indeed, Grumpy fell in the stream not far from the bridge, a few drops of water plopped on his bald head. Rainbow couldn’t help but yell in laughter while flying over. Pinkie simply crossed the bridge. "BAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Rainbow laughed. “Why didn’t you simply take the bridge?” Pinkie said to Grumpy. “That’s not difficult, is it?” Rainbow kept laughing, while Pinkie walked along. Unamused, Grumpy placed his stocking cap back on his head and tried to get up. BANG! He bumped against the bridge and fell in the water causing Rainbow to laugh longer. Grumpy emerged from the water, his shoes plopping with each step. “Ha-ha, wait,” Rainbow said. “Let me help you.” “I can handle myself, tomboy!” Grumpy yells. Rainbow glared as Grumpy shook his clothes dry. They didn’t go far when they heard a familiar voice. “Good-bye, girls!” Snow White called out. “Good-bye, Snowy! Good-bye, Flutters!” Rainbow called back. “See you tonight!” Pinkie shouted. “Good-bye, Grumpy!” Snow White called again. But Grumpy didn’t react. Instead, he raised his head proudly in the air and walked away while his shoes squished. The two ponies followed him. After minutes of walking beyond the seventh fall and over the seven jeweled hills, the company reached the mine. They were still singing the dwarfs’ catchy melody, which they learned very well. Dopey, as always, was the last one to catch up. They stopped singing when they reached the mine. “Here it is ladies and young man,” Doc said. “Ooooooh!” The girls and dragon stared in awe. “So, how do we start?” Spike asked. “We’ll grab the cart over there and bring it inside,” Happy pointed out. “We’ll show you the rest.” “Alright, every pony!” Applejack said. “Let’s do this!” They walked towards the cart, while the dwarfs threw their pickaxes inside and began to pull by a rope attached to it. The ponies helped by pulling the rope with their teeth. Then Applejack had an idea, as she tied the rope around her waist and pulled hard. She was so strong the dwarfs lost their grip on the rope and they stared at the farm pony’s amazing strength. “Gosh, didn’t see that coming,” Bashful said, wide-eyed. “Especially from a girl pony.” “I know,” Spike nodded. “She makes it look so easy.” The dwarfs and ponies tried to keep up, while Applejack pulled the cart towards the entrance. They whistled a catchy tune along the way. As Sleepy tried to push, Dopey, trying to be helpful, pushed behind him only to shove him in the air. But suddenly, Doc spotted something ahead. “Hey, look!” Every dwarf and pony stopped, including Applejack. Unfortunately, the cart bumped against her and the others. They faced Doc’s direction and met the surprise of their lives. The Forest Some minutes earlier Somewhere in the woods, a black figure searched the grounds for her prey cackling to herself. It was the Witch, Grimhilde. “The little men will be away, and she and those ponies will be all alone with a harmless old peddler woman,” The witch cackled, eyeing the red apple. “Ha-ha-ha! A harmless old peddler woman!” Little did she know, while talking to herself, two vultures watched and listened from a tree. The way she spoke, the birds knew something was going to happen. The vultures smiled at each other and followed her. (Pause at 0:32) Back in the cottage, Fluttershy and her new human friend were busy making pies, Gooseberry to be precise. They were making one pie for a very special dwarf. The animals were glad to help. “Oh, Snow White,” Fluttershy replied. “I’m sure he will love it. We should bake some for the others and the girls and Spike too.” “That’s a good idea,” Snow White agreed. “I hope he’ll like me when I give this to him.” Snow White began to sing a familiar song, flattening the dough with a rolling pin. A bird grabbed some flour with its tail feathers, strewing along the dough. Once the dough was ready, the princess placed it on a pie tin and grabbed a knife to cut the dough along the edge. The bird grabbed the sliced dough and flew away. Snow White placed the pie in front of her, watching the birds decorate it with their talons. The bird with the leftover dough used it to create a name: Grumpy. (Continue music) Fluttershy comes in singing in a high note. The pie was ready to bake, as the two sang the last verse together. Suddenly, a shadow loomed over them scaring the animals away. Snow White and Fluttershy gasped at the sight before them. An old woman, dressed in black, scarily eyeing the pair. The worst part, and it’s something they don’t know: The Queen finally found them. She chuckled evilly, stirring discomfort to our heroines, especially Fluttershy. “All alone, my pets?” The old woman asked. “Why, why, yes, we are,” Snow White said, nervously. “But…” The old woman looked inside. “The, the little men and other ponies are not here?” “No, they’re not,” Fluttershy spoke, shakily. “It’s just me and Snow White, but…” “Mmm-hmm,” The witch thought. She sniffed the air, intrigued by the aroma. “Making pies?” “Yes, gooseberry pies,” Snow White said, with a smile. “It’s a surprise for when they come back,” Fluttershy added. “It’s apple pies that make the menfolk’s mouths water,” The old woman advised, grabbing the red apple from her basket. “Pies made from apples like these.” The animals observed from behind the cottage curiously. It was the way the old woman chuckled; they felt a twinge of fear like something wasn’t right. “Well, m-maybe we’ll do that some time,” Fluttershy replied. “Applejack is really good at making apple-based food.” “Oh, they do look delicious,” Snow White said. “Yes!” The old woman chuckled, sinisterly. “But wait ‘til you taste one, dearies.” The birds along the trees paid close attention, when they turned around. The same two vultures spied from a tree, facing each other and smiling deviously. The birds were frightened, they knew that vultures mean only one thing, the worst thing of all: Death. The birds twittered among another, turning back toward the witch. “Like to try one? Hmm?” The witch offered. “Go on. Go on, have a bite.” Snow White reached for the apple. Fluttershy suddenly felt something fishy is going on. She knew to be careful with strangers but couldn’t resist the sight of a delicious apple. A tiny side-effect from her time spent turned into a giant vampire pony. The birds immediately knew something was wrong and attacked the old woman, along with the other smaller animals. She groaned and tried to shield herself with her arms, dropping the basket. Snow White and Fluttershy gasped and rushed out of the cottage. “Stop it! Stop it!” Fluttershy commanded. “Go away! Go away!” The animals scurried away, while the birds flew back into the trees looking down at the girls. “Shame on you,” Snow White said, sternly. “Frightening a poor old lady.” Poor old lady? Certainly not. All the apples scattered everywhere around the fallen basket. Yet, she only wanted the red one. She mumbled to herself while rubbing the apple clean. “Oh, I thought I’d lost it.” Fluttershy approached the old woman, placing a hoof on her leg. Snow White placed her hands on the woman’s shoulders to comfort her. “We’re so sorry, madam,” Fluttershy spoke. “We don’t know what got them to act this way.” “There, there,” Snow White said, soothingly. “I’m sorry.” The hag gasped softly at first, then deviously smiled and had an idea. “Oh!” She cried, clutching her chest. “My heart!” “Oh, my goodness!” Fluttershy gasped. The old woman was clearly faking, but the sweet pony truly believed the act was real. “Oh, my… My poor heart,” The old woman cried. “Take me into the house and let me rest. A drink of water, please.” (Pause at 2:40) Snow White slowly brought her into the cottage, closing the door. Fluttershy was still outside when she turned to the animals angrily. Little did she know, she forgot a very important fact about animals: They always sense danger and evil. “Now why did you attack that poor old lady?!” Fluttershy asked, assertively. “What did she do to you? I don’t know what caused you to act out, but that was low and cowardly to attack some pony weaker than you!” A bird quickly flew down to her ear, twittering quickly. “You bet your life you’re sorry, mister. I want you to… Wait, what?” Fluttershy paused a moment, her eyes going wide as the bird twittered. “Vultures? But that means… Are you sure? That old lady? Danger? Don’t be ridiculous. Why would a poor old lady like her hurt someone, especially someone as sweet and kind as Snow White? Unless…” She thought hard and suddenly feared the worst. “You don’t think… That old lady is…” Fluttershy gasped in horror. “Oh no! Snow White!” (Continue music) She walked toward the window, the other animals following her. They saw Snow White offer the old woman a chair. She appeared to be in bad health, but that changed as she watched Snow White fill a big cup with water. She grinned while grabbing the red apple from her sleeves, admiring it before turning back to Snow White with devious intent. Fluttershy turned away from the window and started pacing, as everything came together. “Oh no! The Queen must have disguised herself to look like an old woman. Which means that apple she’s holding is bad news! Snow White’s falling into a trap; I should warn Twilight, Doc and the others!” Fluttershy made to speed walk, then stopped. “Wait, no! That will take too long. I got to prevent Snow White from eating that apple, without her or the Queen knowing.” But knowing she was still one pony against a very dangerous person, she turned to the animals. “You all go to the mine and warn everypony,” Fluttershy instructed. “Snow White needs help. I’ll stay and do whatever I can to stop the Queen.” The animals nod, quickly dashing through the woods toward the mine. The tortoise had trouble catching up to the faster animals. The two vultures saw the animals running away. While normally they’d wait for a delicious carcass, this time they couldn’t wait and swooped down towards the animals. Fluttershy saw the vultures and gasped in horror. She turned toward the cottage, then the animals, and a few more times back-and-forth. Finally, she flew toward the animals as fast as she could. One vulture tried to grab a poor little bunny, when suddenly something yellow crashed against the buzzard. The animals watched as they kept running. “Keep going!” Fluttershy called out. “Quick, go warn the others!” The animals never stopped running, while Fluttershy stood face-to-face with the two vultures. “You should be ashamed of yourselves! Eating defenseless little creatures!” Though the vultures were completely surprised, suddenly they grinned and licked their lips. Fluttershy, slightly uncomfortable, suddenly realized what they meant to do. “Oops.” Fluttershy screamed and flew away, the two birds of prey in hot pursuit. The Dwarfs’ Mine Present Time After an uncertain period of time, the forest animals reached the mine. The dwarfs, ponies and dragon stood confused. “It’s those forest animals,” Spike said. “What are they doing here?” “I don’t know,” Twilight said. Suddenly, the animals began to pull their clothes, stocking caps, shoes, beards, manes and tails. “Hey, what are you doing?!” Rainbow asked. “Stop that!” One dwarf shouted. “Not the mane!” Rarity shouted. “NOT THE MANE!!!” “Get away, boy!” Sneezy cried. “Get away! Go on, shoo!” “Go on! Get outta here!” Grumpy shouts. He tried to fight off the birds with his stocking cap, but the others kept tugging his clothes. Dopey wasn’t fairing any better, trying to slap the birds away. He clumsily fell to the ground and the animals pulled him. Spike was pulled by his tail, trying to shoo them away. “Hey! Let go of me!” Spike struggled. A deer pushed Doc by the back. “What ails these crazy birds?” Bashful was clutching a tree, while a deer pulled his pants. “They’ve gone plumb daffy!” Applejack tried to shoo the animals away with her hat and a few bucks from her hind legs in the air. “These animals are more cuckoo than a clock!” “Yeah, they’ve g-g-g-g…” Sneezy gasped. A few birds, a rabbit and a squirrel were pulling Sneezy until he couldn’t hold it. "AAACHOOOOOOO!" The animals got blown away by the powerful sneeze, but they quickly regained themselves and ran towards Sneezy again. Meanwhile, the disguised queen had finished her drink when Snow White looked outside. The Queen still held onto the red apple in her bony grasp. “Where is Fluttershy?” She asked. “The little pony?” The queen acted innocently. “She’s probably looking for flowers, I’m sure she’ll be alright. You two seem very close.” “That’s true. Fluttershy and I have much in common. I’m glad to have her as my friend.” “You two are so sweet and because you have been so good to poor old Granny, I’ll share a secret with you. This is no ordinary apple; it’s a magic wishing apple.” “A wishing apple?” Snow White asked, excitedly. “Yes! One bite and all your dreams will come true.” “Really?” “Yes, girlie,” The Queen said, slowly approaching the princess. “Now, make a wish and take a bite.” Back at the mine, the ponies, dwarfs and dragon struggled against the animals. They kept pulling their clothes and tails, while the group were either holding onto trees or tried to scare them off. “Go on, get!” Grumpy shouted. “These pesky critters won’t stop!” Applejack called out. “Tain’t natural,” Happy replied. “There’s something wrong,” Doc noted. “I know,” Twilight agreed. “Something’s not right!” “They ain’t actin’ this way for nothin’!” Grumpy added. The grouchy dwarf had struggled against a deer and a few birds, the animals tugging his beard and stocking cap. Eventually they released him, and he fell to the ground while all the other animals stopped. “But what could cause these creatures to act out?” Rarity asked. Sleepy, the only one who wasn’t pulled or pushed by the animals, had been sitting in the mine cart the whole time. “Maybe the old Queen’s got Snow White and Fluttershy,” Sleepy yawned. Everybody froze when they heard that. They turned to Sleepy in worry and shock, then to each other with the same expression. “The Queen!” Doc cried. “Snow White and Fluttershy!” They shouted in unison. “The animals!” Rainbow realized. “They tried to warn us!” “Oh no!” Rarity gasped. “The Queen’ll kill them!” Grumpy shouted. “We gotta save them!” “Yes! Yes!” Doc stuttered. “We, we, we gotta save them?!” “She’ll kill them!” Spike shouted. “What’ll we do?!” Happy asked. “Yes, yes, what’ll we do?” Doc panicked. “We gotta go to the cottage and face that witch!” Rainbow declared. “COME ON!” Grumpy shouted. The dwarf began to run when Rainbow landed right in front of him. “Climb on my back!” Rainbow commanded. “We’ll get you there in ten seconds flat!” With no time to argue, Grumpy hopped on her back. “Giddap!” Grumpy shouted. The two ran off while the other animals followed. Bashful and Sneezy climbed on a deer, riding closely behind Rainbow and Grumpy. Bashful helped Sneezy onto the deer’s back, but Sneezy almost fell and grabbed the tail. Spike tried to climb on a deer, when a familiar blue aura grabbed him and planted him on the back of an especially familiar white mare. “Ride with me, darling!” Rarity said, dashing after the rest. “Am I dreaming right now?” Spike asked himself, eyes widen. Happy struggled to get on Pinkie, but a few birds help him sit on her back as Sleepy rode on a deer. Unfortunately, Doc was struggling to catch up. “Wait for me! Wait for…” Before Doc could finish, a certain lavender unicorn/alicorn placed her head beneath him and he landed on her back. “Hold on tight!” Twilight called out. Applejack ran after them with Dopey holding her tail, as he struggled with his feet on the ground. On the road, the tortoise almost made it to the mine. But when he saw the dwarfs, ponies and animals running toward him, he ducked inside his shell. The company passed him so fast, his shell spun around. The tortoise was lucky to be alive, but now had to follow the others who ran as fast as they could to save their friends from a terrible fate. Back at the cottage, the witch tried to coax Snow White to bite the apple. She uncomfortably took a few steps backwards, as if she felt something off. "There must be something your little heart desires,” The witch inquired. “Perhaps there’s someone you love.” “Well, there is someone,” Snow White admits. “I thought so, I thought so!” The disguised queen laughed. “Old Granny knows a young girl’s heart.” The witch carefully gave the princess the apple. “Now, take the apple, dearie, and make a wish,” The Witch instructed, whispering the last sentence. Snow White held the apple in front of her and closed her eyes. The witch waited patiently, but barely kept it together. “I wish… I wish…” Snow White began. “That’s it, go on!” The witch urged, softly. “Go on.” (Pause at 0:31) During that time, Fluttershy tried to get rid of the two vultures. She may not be as fast as Rainbow Dash, but just enough to not get eaten. The vultures were eager to try pony meat. She flew through a few trees, when the vultures paused and flew into the sky. While that happened, the dwarfs, ponies and animals ran across a fallen tree, that formed a bridge. They slid down a chasm that wasn’t deep and ran further. They dodged trees and boulders, hurdling over larger chasms while dark clouds slowly formed in the sky. Meanwhile, Fluttershy leaned from one of the trees to see if the vultures were still in pursuit. At first, it seemed safe as she slowly left the tree. As she looked around, shadows flew above her and though she didn’t know a gut feeling told her she was being watched. Scared, she slowly turned as the shadows came closer and she spotted the vultures lunging to her. One tried to attack with its talons, but she dodged and flew away again. The second vulture flew directly in front of her and she stopped. She flew straight into the air, as the carnivorous birds followed her. She flew higher and higher, but the vultures drew closer. “Oh no! I’m bird food!” Fluttershy panicked. “What would Rainbow do in times like this?” Suddenly, her eyes went wide, and she had an idea. She wrapped her arms and legs to her side and let herself fall. At the right time, the vultures crashed into each other. The yellow Pegasus flew in front of them. “Oh, I’m sorry I have to do this,” She said, regretfully. Before the vultures could react, she suddenly closed her eyes and opened them again. Her eyes went very wide, staring as if looking straight into their soul. The vultures eyes went wide in fear, unable to look away. “There! Now you don’t want to eat me, do you?” Fluttershy asked, strictly. “Hurting and eating poor little bunnies, squirrels, birds and deer is something I don’t tolerate. Now you two stay away from Snow White and my animals and don’t ever… Let me… Catch you… Doing this again! DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?!” With that brave, determined attitude, the vultures nodded and flew away. (Continue music) During that time, Snow White was still making her wish. “And that he will carry me away to his castle where we will live happily ever after.” The witch knew victory was in her grasp yet felt Snow White was stalling. “Fine! Fine!” The witch nodded. “Now take a bite.” Meanwhile, the ponies, dwarfs and animals ran as fast as they could. “Hurry up!” Grumpy shouted. “Don’t slow down!” Rainbow called out. While this happened, Fluttershy was happy with her small victory. But she forgot one small thing. “Snow White!” She gasped. Fluttershy tried to fly back to the cottage, not knowing dark clouds appeared in the sky. Just when she got closer… "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!" Fluttershy stopped when she heard the cackle, a loud thunderclap soon followed. “NOW I’LL BE FAIREST IN THE LAND! HAHAHAHAHAHA!” “Oh no… NO!” Fluttershy gasped, hearing it all. “She couldn’t… She isn’t… SNOW WHITE!” Tears slowly appeared from her eyes, when she saw the witch emerge from the cottage cackling in victory. Fluttershy may not know if Snow White bit the apple nor dare think about it, seeing the witch cackle filled her eyes with hate. “You… YOU MONSTER!” Fluttershy lunged toward the witch, who saw the yellow Pegasus charge toward her. Quickly, she grabbed a vile of red potion from her black clothing. She hurled it towards the pony, and it exploded on impact. Fluttershy fell to the ground with a hard thud. “AH!” She yelled in pain. The witch slowly approached the pony. Fluttershy tried to get up, but the old woman pinned her down with her foot. “It’s over now, dearie,” The witch laughed. “Time to deal with you ponies, starting with you!” The rain fell on both of them, Fluttershy staring at the Queen in fear knowing she was about to do something. Suddenly, the witch stopped and was surprised by what came next. The other ponies, dwarfs and animals arrived as the thunder rumbled. The witch, not knowing what to do, left the shy Pegasus alone and ran for her life. “Hurry! Hurry!” Grumpy shouted. “Fluttershy!” Twilight shouted. Rainbow and Grumpy paused for a moment, watching the witch flee. “There she goes!” Grumpy pointed. “I see her!” Rainbow said. (Pause at 0:11) All but Twilight and Doc ran after her, the latter checking on Fluttershy. “Are you alright?” Twilight asked. “I’m okay,” Fluttershy nodded, in shock. “Thank goodness you’re here. That old woman…” “We know,” Twilight said. “We’re going after her.” “I’m coming too.” “No, you stay here,” Twilight said. “Snow White needs you.” “It’s too dangerous for you, my dear,” Doc added. “But… I want to help!” Fluttershy insists. “You’re already doing that,” Twilight assured. “We could use your help to catch the Queen, but Snow White is your friend. Isn’t she?” Fluttershy thought for a moment, then nodded. “Alright,” Fluttershy said. “I’m going to check inside; please be careful.” “We will,” Twilight nodded. “Twilight, we’re losing her!” Doc pointed out. “Alright, after her!” Twilight shouted. Fluttershy watch them run after the witch, before approaching the cottage. Opening the door, the thunder rumbled, and lighting dashed through the window as she looked around. “Snow White? Snow White?!” Fluttershy suddenly gasped when she found a horrifying sight. She stepped closer as tears swelled in her eyes. “Snow White?” (Continue music) Meanwhile, the gang pursued the witch through the rain. The vultures, whom Fluttershy defeated, returned hungry as ever when they saw what was going on. They decided to follow the disguised queen and her pursuers As the thunder rumbles, the witch kept running. She was almost trapped by vines but escaped just in time. The rain fell heavily while the heroes ran after her. Rarity didn’t care if it rained or if her mane was ruined, she wanted to capture the villain who dared harm their new friend. But the witch was already one step ahead, climbing the mountain in a desperate act to escape. “There! Up that mountain!” Twilight pointed. “Sheesh, she’s creepier than her normal form!” Spike remarked. The ponies stopped, as the dwarfs dismounted them and the animals. They grabbed their clubs and pickaxes, while Spike picked up a broken branch as a weapon. Grumpy took charge of the group. “After her!” “Yeah!” Applejack and Sneezy shouted. The ponies, dragon and dwarfs climbed the mountain. The witch peered down and saw her pursuers coming closer, so she kept climbing. (Pause at 0:42) “She’s too fast!” Applejack shouted. “We’ll never catch her!” “How can an old lady be that fast?!” Twilight asked. “Now’s not the time for physics, Twilight!” Rainbow shouted. “Not everything is as it seems!” “I have an idea!” Pinkie said. “It better be good!” Bashful hoped. “It is, but I need Happy for this!” “Me? Happy asked, confused. Out of nowhere, Pinkie grabbed her trademark party cannon. “Get in the cannon!” Pinkie shouted. “What?!” Happy cried, worriedly. “Are you crazy?!” “Trust me!” “Men, we’re losing her!” Doc shouted. Happy gulped, stepping inside the cannon with his head stuck out. Pinkie aimed the cannon towards the witch. “Ready?” Pinkie asked. “Ready!” Happy shouted. “One… Two… Three… FIRE!” Pinkie pressed the button on the cannon, launching the screaming Dwarf into the air. The witch looked behind her and Happy crashed into her, both almost falling off the mountain. Happy seemed to have her, but the Queen pushed him away with all her might. “You little rat, get off me!” One shove sent Happy falling down the mountain till Rainbow caught him. “Thanks,” Happy shuddered, wide eyed. “I’m not sure I want to do that again.” Finally, our heroes stood face-to-face with the Queen. The rain fell around them, as the thunder rumbled. “Queen Grimhilde, I presume,” Twilight glared. “So… You’re the little ponies trying to steal my beauty,” The queen spat, hatefully. “Just like Snow White.” “We didn’t come to steal anything!” Applejack spoke honestly. “We arrived here by coincidence!” “No matter. Anyone more beautiful than me pays the price!” “Is that really what this is all about?” Rarity asked. “Beauty?” “And trying to kill an innocent girl like Snow White?” Rainbow added. “That’s just low!” “Only a woman truly radiant as I can rule an entire kingdom.” “That’s not true, Witch!” Grumpy yelled. “It’s deeds, not looks that count. Snow White is beautiful because of her kindness and care for others. She’s more fit to rule the kingdom than you!” The others were moved by the dwarf’s words from his heart, even Rainbow was impressed. “He’s right, Grimhilde,” Twilight agreed. “You claim to be radiant, but all I see are shadows of jealousy… Clouding your mind and hanging thick on your heart.” “You little monsters will pay for such insolence, and your little dragon too!” The queen threatened. From her black clothing, she grabbed another basket of apples. “Have an apple, dearies!” "Watch out, men!" Doc yelled. She threw an apple, and the group dodged when it hit the ground. They narrowly avoided a cloud of purple gas released into the air. “Now that’s one rotten apple!” Applejack said. “It’s poison!” Twilight warned. “I’ll deal with that!” Rainbow said. “Be careful, Rainbow! Don’t breathe it!” The witch cackled while Rainbow flew around, creating a vortex that sucked the poisonous gas as she held her breath. After a few seconds, the tornado shot the gas into the air and Rainbow stopped flying. The witch hurled more apples, launching them into the air and they fell like bombs. “Apples! Fresh apples! HAHAHA!” The apples explode on impact, unleashing clouds of poison gas and poison puddles. Rainbow, Pinkie and Twilight did their best to divert the poison clouds away. The Queen threw potions that exploded on impact. Twilight and Rarity caught a few with their magic, hurling them back, while the others narrowly dodged. Applejack bucked a few apples back toward the witch, while Spike hurled fireballs. Even the Dwarfs helped by throwing their pickaxes and some stones. The witch luckily dodged those attacks and cackled. “So, you want to fight dirty, huh?” Rainbow said, cracking her neck. “I can fight dirty too!” Rainbow grabbed a cloud and with one good stomp released a powerful lightning bolt that struck inches from the witch. “Let’s see you top that!” Rainbow mocked. “Oh, have I got a bigger one, dearie,” The witch grinned. The witch waved her arms in the air, as Rainbow raised an eyebrow. “A THUNDERBOLT TO FIX THEM WELL!” The witch called loudly. All of a sudden, a large thunderbolt blast from the sky toward Rainbow. “Rainbow, look out!” Twilight warned. Rainbow managed to fly to the side, but the bolt struck a certain party pony who didn’t see it on time. On impact, she screamed in pain as the electricity showed her skeleton a few times. “PINKIE!!!” They all shouted. The electricity stopped leaving Pinkie completely black, her eyes as small as pinpricks. “Did somepony want ‘roasted’ or ‘baked’ pony?” Pinkie asked, dazed. She coughed a cloud of smoke before fainting to the ground. The witch, surprised by the ponies' special abilities and powers, decided to retreat climbing further up the mountain. “She’s getting away!” Rainbow yelled. “Come on, men!” Doc ordered. (Continue music) The witch ran as fast as she could, but our heroes managed to keep up. Their shadows, cast by lightning flashes, could be seen on the mountain wall. The wind howled and thunder rumbled loudly, as the storm picked up. Then Rainbow saw something that made her smile. “Look! At the top!” Rainbow pointed out. “She can’t get away!” “Now we got her for sure!” Happy declared. At the moment, the Queen reached the top, panting and gasping from all the climbing and running. She tried to go further, only to stare down at the deep chasm below. She gasped in horror, there was no way out. The vultures landed on a tree above her, grinning that there was no escape for her. Or is there? “I’m trapped, what will I do?” She said to herself, looking down. “The meddling little fools!” The dwarfs, ponies and dragon came closer, the witch within their reach. But the Queen wouldn’t give up easily, desperately pulling one last trick up her sleeve. She grabbed a long branch, placing it under a large boulder. The thunder came closer, as the Witch pulled with all her might. Little by little, the boulder moved as she officially lost it. “I’ll fix ya! I’LL CRUSH YOUR BONES!” She yelled. When the heroes arrived, Grumpy saw what the witch was planning. “LOOK OUT!” Pinkie saw it and screamed loudly, as Twilight tried to conjure a shield around them. The witch cackled loudly, her wickedness and evil unveiled. They all held onto each other, as if this might be the end. It seems the Queen was about to win until... CRASH! A very large thunderbolt shot down between the witch and the boulder. The cliff she stood crumbled to pieces and she fell down, screaming at the top of her lungs. The boulder fell the same direction as she disappeared into the darkness. Twilight and the rest opened their eyes after hearing the scream, as Twilight’s shield faded. The vultures stared toward the chasm with big smiles. The ponies, dwarfs and dragon ran to the edge of the cliff peering down in shock. Though they couldn’t see where she landed, the boulder smashed the Queen without a doubt. The vultures flew down, finally having the meal they wanted while our heroes watched silently. “Heavens to Betsy,” Applejack said, breaking the silence. “How dreadful,” Rarity said. “At least she’s defeated,” Spike declared. “She won’t hurt anyone from now on.” “But still…” Rarity said, unable to finish. “As horrible as this may be,” Doc assured. “The Queen is finally defeated.” “She’s gone!” Pinkie cheered. “HOORAY!” Everybody cheered. But before they could celebrate, Twilight gasped at a sudden realization. “Snow White and Fluttershy!” “Quick, let’s get back to the cottage,” Bashful said. They ran for a long time till they finally reached the cottage. They didn’t care that it still rained. They opened the door, which was left half open, peering inside. “Hello?” Twilight called. “Fluttershy? Snow White?” Then they heard a soft whimper, turning to a familiar yellow Pegasus. She seem to hold something… Or someone. “Fluttershy?” Twilight asked, approaching. “Is everything alright?” The Pegasus slowly showed her face, shedding tears of sadness and everybody immediately saw why. Snow White, in the pony’s arms, lying lifeless. The only evidence: A bitten apple. “Oh no…” Twilight whispered. “No!” “Snow White…” Rarity said, tears in her eyes. “What happened?” Bashful asked. “It must be that drapple… Uh, apple,” Doc pointed. “Can’t she be saved or something?” Rainbow asked, desperately. “CPR could work,” Twilight offered. “Or mouth-to-mouth,” Happy added. “We can defibrillate her,” Pinkie said, holding two defibrillators. “Pinkie, we’re trying to get her back!” Applejack yelled. “Not hurt her!” “Well, this is the best option, isn’t it?!” Pinkie argued. The cottage erupted in chaos, all the dwarfs, ponies and Spike arguing. Doc, who stood silently, formed tears in his eyes and covered his ears. "STOOOOOOP!" The shouting ceased as everyone turned to Doc, who breathed heavily as a fresh batch of tears fell. “It’s no use,” Doc sobbed. “She’s… She’s dead.” And all at once they realized there was nothing they could do. The reality of the situation slapping them in the face. They shed tears of sorrow, for Snow White, the beloved princess, is dead.
