Three months later
Luna stretched her wings walking out on to the balcony. She had a hard day with Crescent and Flurry playing. Maybe I shouldn’t have taken the task of watching them after all. She looked back at the two young ones sprawled out across her pillows. But this is probably how Cadence feels, proud. She's only been in my life for a short while now and have this desire to protect her.
Celestia barged into the room, almost waking the foals. "Luna" she said with a demanding loud tone "Why haven't you risen the moon yet?" She looked down into her sister's eyes.
Luna looked up at her then made sure the little ones were still asleep." I have been in here taking care of Crescent and Flurry." She stated. She turned toward the balcony, looking at the bright orange and yellow colors of the sun. The warmth she could feel from it was somewhat comforting. The heat felt nice on her wings as if she had Crescent laying on them. It was something she had gotten used to since she had adopted her.
She walked out on to the balcony and sighed. She then lit up her horn with her blue magical aurora. She then began lifting up the moon raising it high in the sky.
"Finally I can get to bed and not have to worry about the balance being off." Celestia left the room walking to her bed chambers. Luna walked back into her room and sat in the rocking chair Applejack had made her.
After Pinkie Pie had somehow learned about Luna adopting Crescent, she had decided to throw a foal shower. Luna never quiet understood the reason for one but Pinkie Pie won't take no for an answer. It was there that Applejack had given her a rocking chair made out of an apple tree. Carved with apples and pictures of the moon it, it was a comfortable sitting arrangement for when Crescent had one of her sleepless nights.
Some movement came from one of the blankets, Crescent popped out her head from one of them. Luna smiled and greeted her "Hello little." Luna smiled walking over to the bed then nuzzled Crescent. Crescent giggled grabbing Luna's snout.”I can see someone had a good nap” Luna giggled.
Crescent nodded answering Luna's question. She than began to crawl around the bed. Luna gently took her off the bed so she wouldn't wake up Flurry. “Now I have to get to work protecting ponies in their dreams” she told Crescent who was snuggling into Luna's tail. She smiled putting Crescent in her playpen. “I wish you could talk” Luna sighed.
Luna walked back to the rocking chair and sat down in it. Crescent watched Luna had her horn started to glowed, so how Crescent knew that Luna would not be back until morning. She wanted more attention from her adopted mother. She gave out a “mm”. She was trying to speak but she didn't really know how to. All she knew was Flurry knew how to talk so her mother and her aunt too. “Mma” she let out barely saying it.
Luna opened her eyes and looked at Crescent “What did you say little one”
“Ma” Crescent repeated giggling.
Luna walked over to Crescent and picked her up. “Yes, Crescent I am your mother”. She nuzzled Crescent then sat in the rocking chair rocking Crescent to sleep.”And I will always protect you”.
