"Excellent...our salvation has arrived my dear..he will be our escape and our chance to rule as we once have." The dark male voice croaked out with a raggedy chuckle following shortly afterwards.
"It seems 'Luck' may be with us on this day my friend!" The female voice replied howling with venom in her laughter
"Indeed, our 'lucky' stars seemed to have shone upon us!" the male replied with an equally bad pun.
Meanwhile...
Princess Celestia, Discord, Twilight and Fluttershy were currently speechless, Conner now lay battered and bruised atop the sun goddess's chest unconscious. "P-princess are you alright!?" Twilight asked clearly concerned more on helping her mentor then what had flown through the portal and hit her not two minutes ago. Twilight moved to pull Conner off of the princess only her efforts were quickly halted as Celestia spoke up.
"Don't touch him Twilight...he's injured badly so we can't risk moving him in such a way." Celestia responded before very Very slowly starting to use her magic to raise Conner off of her but also keep him in the same position at the same time as not to cause anymore damage than what he has already sustained. Twilight watched and quickly levitated her bed across the room before placing it under Conner's mangled body. Celestia took the hint and slowly lowered the human onto Twilight's bed and let her magic fade away from him, leaving his body to rest on the soft material. "Now. Twilight i would like you to go fetch the head doctor of Ponyville hospital and Fluttershy i would like you and Discord to gather the rest of your friends. I shall remain here in case this-"Celestia paused for a moment "He..awakes and until the doctor arrives i shall tend to his more serious wounds.." The tall monarch finished.
Twilight nodded quietly and started to quickly trot towards the stairs closely followed by Discord and Fluttershy. Once the trio was outside Twilight spread her wings and started flying left towards Ponyville hospital while Fluttershy and Discord split up to cover more ground in contacting the other four ponies needed by the princess. Twilight started thinking to herself about this new creature as she flew "How did princess Celestia bring him here by only touching the book?, why did she save him?, what if the rhyme at the start of the book was true.." Twilight quickly shook the thoughts out of her mind before swiftly descending down to the ground in front of Ponyville General Hospital.
The lavender princess pushed through the double door entrance and trotted up to the reception.
The mare behind the counter lightly bowed her head to Twilight before smiling at her. "Good evening Princess Twilight, how can I help you today?" The mare behind the counter said happily to Twilight who quickly responded.
"Princess Celestia has requested Doctor Horse immediately, it's an emergency!" Twilight said with urgency and command in her tone. The mare behind the counter quickly nodded and got up, Twilight could now see her name tag which read out 'Tenderheart' Nurse Tenderheart quickly started sprinting down the long halls of the hospital dodging and weaving through various obstacles such as medicine carts and other nurses and patients, she slowed to a halt outside of a room reading 'Horses office', Tenderheart knocked twice and then opened the door.
"Doctor Horse! Princess Twilight and Princess Celestia have requested your presence at once!" The sky blue earth pony breathed heavily as if she just ran a marathon.
Doctor Horse stood quickly and trotted over to her placing a hoof on her shoulder. "Slowly now breath..I shall go meet them immediately while you take a breather alright?" he replied smiling lightly before walking past her and started trotting down the hall where he could she Princess Twilight waiting for him. The yellow unicorn quietly nodded to her before following her out of the hospital. "Now might i ask what i am needed for Princess Sparkle?" The doctor inquired.
"Princess Celestia has saved a new creature from dying but it is still severely injured, your skills are needed to make sure it makes a full recovery." Princess Twilight finished leading Doctor Horse towards her castle without another word.
"Hold on Princess Celestia did what now?!" A tomboyish voice replied loudly in shock and confusion.
"Princess Celestia has summoned a strange new animal to Equestria which is now resting in Twilight's castle and she requested that me and Discord come and get you four" Fluttershy replied to the shocked Pegasus
"Why the hay is she callin on us to help? we don't even know what this animal is never mind what it's capable of" The southern sounding accent of Applejack responded to Fluttershy in kind
"Well darling we have saved Equestria a number of times now and i'm sure one animal couldn't win against the six of us with our friendship magic and Discord and Princess Celestia, so it could be just in case this...thing gets any ideas is all" Rarity responded to Applejack's question before Fluttershy had a chance to.
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! This could mean i'm about to make a new friend! OH! I wonder if they like parties! or cake! or balloons! or-" Pinkie's energetically excited rant was cut short by Discord as he simply pulled her mouth clean from her face assuming it would make her quiet down.....only it didn't. Yes despite the fact Pinkie had no mouth strange muffling could still be heard from her mouthless face "Mmph mmn mmph!" she continued making such noises as the six walked together, it was still annoying but it was a bit more bearable now.
The five pushed open the front doors of the large crystal castle just as Twilight and Doctor horse arrived behind them. Each group nodded to one another and all started to pile into the castle's main hall, each hoof making a loud clop as each one hit the hard crystal floor. Discord closed the two double doors behind the group as they all started to walk up the large stairway, tension started to set in as each of the ponies and Discord started to hear the sound of a healing spell from the top floor and even a few sounds of groans and sheets being ruffled.
Twilight was the first to reach the top of the stairs but didn't hesitate leading Doctor horse over to Conner. "well..here it is Doc.." Twilight quietly stated staring down at the not so mangled anymore body of the being supposedly to bring sin to their world. "He has been like this for about 30 minutes now so it's safe to say he's healed a great deal due to Princess Celestia's kindness and healing magic." Twilight sadly smiled a bit and stepped back to her group of friends who were just standing at the top of the stairs looking in utter shock as an unknown creature is currently laying on Twilight's bed.
"What in the name of the creator is that thing twi?!" Applejack said finally breaking the awkward silence.
"Indeed darling I must follow up on Applejack's question...what is that dreadful thing?"
"Hey, it's not all that bad you know..it's not his fault how he looks and he could be friendly" Fluttershy quietly butted in.
"Fluttershy how can you be taking that things side? we have no idea what it is! it could have powers to turn us all inside out! and look at it's teeth, it has sharp teeth at the front!"
Twilight shook her head at Rainbow Dash "Rainbow's right Fluttershy those are canines so that means it's a meat eater..this could be dangerous after all..."
"I WANNA HUG HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE LOOKS SO LONELY AND COLD AND HURT, CAN I PLEASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSE HUG HIM TWILIGHT!!??" Pinkie squealed with joy bouncing up and down at speeds that made even Rainbow Dash blush.
While the mane six were having their heated discussion Discord, Celestia and Doc Horse were all gathered around Conner looking over his injuries and also studying him, Discord doing the latter. Discord rubbed his grey beard lightly deep in thought, this was something he has seen happening before but who was the one behind it was the real question, someone with great power but not enough to get him here on their own...so they used the book so that sunbutt would do the work for them. "Very interesting..." The spirit of disharmony mused lightly.
Doctor Horse on the other hand was currently wrapping up Conner's deep wounds he had sustained while going through the portal, as if the truck accident wasn't bad enough the portal actually nearly crushed Conner making his injuries even worse. "I must say your highness i doubt he would have survived if not for your healing magic, these wounds are deep yes but they will take no longer than a week to heal up fully...his body will be littered with scars i regret to say and on top of that some of his bones will most likely take about two weeks to heal fully, but other then that he is as healthy as my name" The doctor chuckled starting to pack his things up. "Also I suggest being alone when he awakes, his injuries are too recent for him to have any panic attacks from so many new faces." Doctor Horse finished up before bowing slightly to Princess Celestia.
The ivory monarch simple nodded in thanks before he left. "Send the bill to the night court please." Celestia laughed slightly as she'd soon be hearing some very loud complaints from her dear sibling, but now was not the time for that. Celestia looked back down at Conner and started to lean down before placing the tip of her horn onto the centre of his forehead and started to connect to his mind. The first thing she wanted to do was find his most recent memory which turned out to be when he flew into her so she went a little bit farther...and she slightly regretted it (Not like that you weirdo!!!) The first thing she saw of his world was the business end of a very large truck about two feet away from Conner.
Princess Celestia turned seeing an older female looking of his kind who was shouting his name from what she could gather.....she must have been his mother. Celestia had seen enough, she quickly left his mind and opened her own eyes looking back down at his unconscious form once more. "You shall not be left in the cold...Conner."
As if on reflex Conner's body moved slightly moving to the left turning away from Celestia with a few words leaving his mouth. "Mooom I don't wanna go ta school today..." he groaned going back to his original of facing the princess once more. The sudden strange words got the attention of everyone in the room, especially Fluttershy.
" He must be young....he still attends school...oh my...." Fluttershy hid behind her mane sadly looking down at the ground only to be comforted by Discord.
"Well be that as it may Fluttershy we will still help him when the time comes..everyone needs friends after all.." Discord smiled looking at the rest of the mane six knowingly.Each one slowly started to look down each feeling equally as bad for the large misfortune of Conner. Twilight slowly started to trot over to Conner's bedside to get a better look at him, he was laying on his stomach with his head turned to his left, one of his forelegs (arms duh) laying beside his head while the other was by his side. The fabric he had on his upper torso was ripped revealing his back a fair bit including his Shamrock tattoo. "That must be his cutie mark.." Twilight guessed looking at his face now. Conner had a light beard coming in from where his sideburns had been cut the day prior, turns out Celestia's healing magic Healed everything meaning cut facial hair meaning he'd have to shave again. Conner had a slight scar across his cheek where a cut used to be, it had formed an old looking scar thanks again to Celestia, his eyes were closed so there was no telling the colour until he was awake, now his hair was strange due to design, the shaved sides of his head were showing signs of growth once more like his sideburns but the top of his head seemed to be unchanging.
"Such a strange hairdo..." Rarity interjected seemingly out of nowhere " and those clothes are absolutely dread-destroyed...maybe he'll let me make him new ones!" she finished her eyes lighting up with stars in them now being quite happy about the whole situation.
"Seems like a tough one...if he does end up sticking around for a bit maybe he'd be willing to help around the farm a bit. by the time i'm done with him he'll be strong enough to bench Big Mac" Applejack chuckled lightly.
"Looks pretty light to me...maybe we can have a few races..I'll get him before AJ dose hehe" Rainbow smiled nudging Applejack lightly into the side.
"I wonder if he likes animals..." Fluttershy said quietly smiling.
"Or pranks." Discord chuckled getting a look from Celestia that screams "I dare you"
"Maybe he likes parties! and cake!! and balloons!!! and confetti!!!! AND-" Twilight poked Pinkie and placed a hoof over her mouth in a 'shhh' motion before pointing back at Conner's sleeping form. " oops! sorry!" she whisper yelled.
"That is all well and good, but i suggest you all wait till i calm him down before trying to talk with him, he will be quite shocked to say the least when he wakes up so I'd rather I talk with him alone first...maybe he will understand better if I tell him his situation." Celestia sighs looking back at the man in question. "If things get out of hand I would like you all to be outside the library just in case he tries to escape....I know it's not the best thing to do but he will get hurt here if he gets away." The princess nodded to them all.
"Understood Princess Celestia!" The mane six said in usion causing Conner to groan loudly and move a fair bit.
"Go!" Princess Celestia whispered causing the seven of them to start piling down the stairs towards the front door of the castle. Once the door closed Celestia backed away from Conner's side and stood slightly away from him just in case he got scared right off the bat.
"UGGGGGH Did anyone get the plate of the truck that hit me?" I groaned sitting up in the bed I was put in by the doctors I assumed, fuck it was bloody comfortable gotta get myself one of these mattresses but back to the real task. I tried to open my eyes only for them to sting like hell before I could see what was in front of me. "Ahh bollocks that smarts " I groaned once more before letting my eyes stay closed "Better let em rest up I s'pose" I sighed before sitting up against the headboard of the bed I currently laid in.
"Yes that would be for the best...your vision will return soon so no need to worry about it." Celestia said out of the blue causing me ti jump a bit not knowing there was someone in the room with me.
"Oh sound...sorry about the noise I shoulda known there was gonna be more than one person per room, unless you're a doctor or nurse that is." I finished looking in the direction of the voice in question.
"No need to apologise, you have been through quite a bit today Conner...that was quite an accident you were involved in, you were lucky to survive." Celestia said quieting down at the end.
"Aye I guess mom told ye my name already and yeah lucky is the right word for it since the shamrock on my shoulder must be watching over me...I feel great for someone who just met the business end of a four by four but hell who am I to complain about something like this? I survived so that's what matters to me hehe...how's uh..how's mom do you know?" I asked hoping she wasn't that traumatised over the whole thing but what are you gonna do.
"Ahh yes...your mother..I'm..I'm afraid you can't see her Conner..." Celestia said her chest starting to clench together but she stayed strong, she had never in all of her years of life, had to do this.
"I can't???? w-why not?! did she get hurt?!" I asked frantically trying to stand but the second my feet hit the floor i collapsed onto the ground in pain, my right hand instinctively went to my side holding it to try dampen the pain "Argh fuck me!"
Celestia breathed in heavily and slowly exhaled before she walked over to me her hooves making a loud clopping (NO!) noise as she stepped, she sat down on her haunches and used her right foreleg to move my chin to face her. "I'm so sorry Conner....I did what I could to save you..." she said just able to hold her composer.
I started to breath in heavily in both fear and pain. "What! what did you do!? tell me!" I yelled through my clenched teeth.
"Conner....." Celestia whispered causing me to look up at her or where I assumed she was. "Open your eyes..."
A simple request. Now what's the catch. I slowly started to open my eyes, they stung like mad but i held em open long enough to see what was in front of me. A horse. A pure white horse with giant purple eyes, a horn and flowing rainbow looking hair. I was stuck. Was i high off my head and still asleep? was I dead and god was playing a trick on me because of what i said this morning?? was I going bloody fucking mental? I didn't know was I was stuck.
Celestia could easily read the shock upon my face and smiled sadly at me and started to caress my cheek with...a wing? yeah a soft ivory wing coming from her back. "When you were in that accident...you would have died a most painful death so I did what I could....I couldn't sit by and watch you become nothing more then red paste on a wall so.....I transported you here....." Celestia finished with another stroke on my cheek.
I could only stare at her, I couldn't believe what I was hearing and I didn't, I must be dreaming I thought so I had to find a way to wake myself up. I started to back away from her seeing the reflection of a window in the...crystal floor? jeez I have expensive dreams. Celestia tried to pulled me back but I had none of it and despite the large pain in my side.....I took off running towards the large glass window.
"No Conner wait!" Celestia cried out but I had already jumped for it, my shoulder making contact easily smashing the window, but I quickly realised one thing I hadn't before as I was falling from a two story window. I was already in pain.
So this wasn't a dream.
