//------------------------------// // An average Friday. // Story: Lucky me. // by PRIZM //------------------------------// "Have a good day at school Hun, try to stay happy alright?' I know last Friday wasn't the best but just try, okay?" Mom asked me sadly. Last Friday some kid got a little too big for his boots and tried to start something he couldn't and, me being my short-tempered self, decided I better get physical with him. Needless to say I, in lay-mans terms, kicked his teeth in, but that didn't mean I got off easy. The second Mom heard about it she was gonna riddle me when I got home. Dad on the other hand thought it was quite a funny story, kept calling me 'The Irish Rocky' which in all fairness to got a good laugh out of me but also earned me and him a death glare from Mom. I sighed a bit rubbing the bridge of my nose and laid my head back against the chair’s headrest. I turned to Mom and smiled a bit. "I’ll try to but no promises." I chuckled a bit getting out of the car while closing the door behind me. And with that I was on my way down the path to school. Let's just hope today will be an easy day. Conner’s mother sighed lightly and started the car back up. "I shouldn't be surprised if I get a phone call today." she said out loud as she pulled out of the parking space and started to drive home. She was worried for Conner due to his attitude. He could get a bit too brave when he's older and get into a lot of trouble with the law. She shook her head to get rid of those thoughts. "No he won't if I have any say in it." She confirmed to herself once more as she drove away. I pushed open the school’s double doors and walked in looking around for a few seconds before walking down the hallway towards the locker area. The main hall was packed already even though it was quite early. I smiled at the sight of a few of my friends sitting at our normal table. I was tempted to sit with them but went against it because I had some important stuff in my locker at the time. "Fuck me I'm wrecked." I sighed rubbing my face lightly with my hands as I approached the locker area, only a few people were there so I didn't have to be super quick about it. I sighed as I closed his locker door and locked it. Placing the key in my back pocket, I pulled my bag onto his shoulders while I readjusted my jacket. "Time to go see the lads" He smiled walking back down the hall seeing them wave at him. "Evening lads" I chuckled sitting beside my best friend Lee. "You look better then you did yesterday Conner, what changed?" A girl sitting across from him asked. Her name was Luna. It was a strange name to those who observed them. But to me? Not at all. In any case she was around five foot four inches tall so she was the smallest of the group, had light brown hair with silver dip dyed ends and blue eyes with a Caucasian complexion so she was quite cute to say the least. "Well for one I shaved off my hedges" I laughed motioning to where my old sideburns would be if I hadn't shaved at all. "Plus it’s the last day of the week, can't be sad about that now can you?" I said making a fair point. "You got me there sham." she said giggling a bit at the nickname everyone called me. The story behind it is a short one. I was allowed get a tattoo due to being 16 and my parents decided to let me get one. The nickname depended on which tattoo he chose. After I chose to get a shamrock on the back of my left shoulder, thus the nickname was born. Before I got the chance to reply the school bell rang both cutting me off and signalling that classes were about to start. I chuckled a bit and stood up nodding to the rest of my friends. Then I started walking down the hall to my first class. Meanwhile… Twilight was buried in the book. After reading the poem her interest became beyond peaked. She continued to read the first chapter. "Car? Wonder what that could be..." she said aloud but quickly shook it off and continued reading. As she finished reading the first Chapter she noticed something strange about the next page. It was incomplete but it was adding writing. "Is this? Yes it is! What kind of book is this?" Twilight said excitedly staring as new lines of text started to appear showing a continuation of the first chapter. Twilight furrowed her brow and flipped to the middle of the book to see if the same thing would happen and to her complete confusion it didn't. "It isn't hidden by magic. Its like its writing a story as it happens. How can that be!?" she said pulling as many ancient magic encyclopedias as she owned and started opening all of them and started speeding through each one trying to find what kind of magic this was but to no avail. Twilight shook her head in utter frustration and groaned before calling her little dragon assistant. "Spike!" she yelled causing the purple and green reptile to sprint into the room. "Twilight! What’s wrong? Did something happen?" he asked still heaving from running so fast. The little dragon had a little side bag which seemed to be brand new. "Take a note to princess Celestia and make sure it is urgent." she exclaimed staring back at the book with suspicion. "No problem" He smiled taking out a quill and a piece of parchment, ready to write. "Dear Princess Celestia, I have come across a new book recently in my library but it’s not like any book I have ever seen. The title of the book is The Story of a Shamrock, and the cover is green with a golden harp embedded into the very front." Twilight paused for a second, thinking of her next words carefully before nodding. "The strange thing about this book in particular is that it seems to be writing itself. I have confirmed that the writing isn't hidden by any magical means. It seems to me that the book is actually writing real time events as they occur, meaning there could be a new civilisation we have never heard about before." Twilight paused again to take in a few breaths before finishing the letter. "I sincerely hope you can help me in my predicament of finding out the origins of this book. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle." Spike nodded smiling at her before he blew a green flame upon the letter engulfing it as it flew out the window. "So this book is writing itself?" the small dragon asked looking it over slightly before looking back to Twilight. The confused and concerned princess nodded slightly to her small companion "I believe so. Its becoming more and more frustrating the more I think about who made it or how it ended up here at all." Twilight sighed rubbing her head a bit with her left foreleg."I don't know spike, it isn't dangerous but it's concerning to just leave this as is." Twilight slowly trotted over and sat down at the desk and slowly started to read the second chapter. Meanwhile… Well I did tell Mom that I’d try but things happen. The same fuck from before had decided to grab a few of his friends to pick on Luna and I didn't appreciate that one bit. So here I am rolling my sleeves up while four scummy pricks laughed and pointed at Luna for being short. "Alright time to get physical" I growled walking up to the guy that started the whole thing last week and tapped him on the shoulder. The prick barely had time to register what had happened before he was put sitting on his ass with a bloody nose. This caused the other three to turn and glare at me. I slowly backed up keeping my arms up in a defensive position as the three of them advanced on me. "Three against one huh?...great-" I was cut short by one of them taking a swing at me. That ended up hitting me in the arm. While I was blocking that though the others jumped me and tackled me to the ground and started pounding my stomach, blow after blow I hissed in pain trying to escape only to get a hard kick into the side of my chest from the first of the three. This winded me badly causing me to go limp for a second as the two continued to punch my stomach. I then yelled and grabbed one of the two and quickly brought my knee into his jaw causing him to yell in pain and topple off of me. The other one took this chance to use both of his fists on my stomach and the first began to kick harder. This continued for a few more minutes before the vice principal herself showed up. "All of you! Principal's office. NOW!" Perfect.
