It was just another day at Canterlot High School. Sunset and the crew were all enjoying another fun year at the institute. Some of the students at Crystal Prep transfered after the Professor Twilight Sparkle had started the trend. She had recently earned the title Professor, after completing some higher level extra classes, which didn't surprise Sunset and their friends too much. Today was actually a better day, because Princess Twilight Sparkle came from the Pony realm because she decided to pay the group a visit, as did Spike. When he met his canine counterpart, both were ecstatic to talk with each other. All the girls found it adorable. Rarity would talk about her latest fashion line.
Pinkie would go from talking about her family's rock quarry, to about the next big party she was planning, which could be anything. Rainbow Dash talked about her sports as always, and Applejack would join in, but sometimes throw in some talk about her family farm. Professor Twilight and Princess Twilight would chatter about some scientific things they found out in both realms and compare how some differed, and how some were very similar. And of course Fluttershy would talk about the animal shelter. And then of course, everyone talked about how the band was doing. A few times, Flash Sentry bumped into both Twilights and he felt really awkward about how to react to two Twilights in the same place.
Princess Twilight also brought up her time with Starlight Glimmer in her realm. When she mentioned this, all the girls brought up how they knew a Starlight Glimmer from this realm. She was one who wanted to teach other students and speculate on this new equality trend she had been studying. Well, it wasn't new, but it was starting to work in some parts of their world, and was beneficial, for some of the countries that used it. Most of the students here, didn't really have the same view as her. Princess Twilight did recommend that they might want to befriend and guide Starlight Glimmer, before she might take things too far.
As the subject of Starlight came up though, this got Princess Twilight thinking and she looked to Sunset asking, "Sunset. I suppose this is sort of random to bring up, but, have you ever met the other Sunset Shimmer. I mean, everyone here knows there are pony versions of themselves in my world, so it goes to show that, there would be another Sunset Shimmer in this realm."
"You know, I'm no brainiac like Princess and Professor Twilight here, but they do make a good point Sunset. Have you seen your other self here?" Rainbow Dash asked.
Sunset sighed, "Well, I knew this subject would surface sooner or later, and I was gonna wait a little while longer before bringing it up. But now's a good a time as any. You may all want to sit down for this."
The girls sat in a circle around the statue of Canterlot High, and put their listening ears on. Sunset soon started to narrate the events that led to why she was here.
"As you all know from the time we all spent at this school, I wasn't the level headed Sunset you all know today. But far before that, and Princess Twilight is aware of this, I was one of Celestia's rising pupils. But there's something you don't know. Princess Celestia of the pony realm........ is my adoptive mother," Sunset started.
"WHAT!!!!" the whole group screamed.
"Let me continue and you'll find out why. Celestia found me when I was four years old. I was unsteady on my four legs. I know, you may be wondering, why would a toddler pony of four years have trouble using her four legs. It's because...... I entered the pony realm by accident. The statue here, was once at a park I played at, when I was really little. But when I found it, I fell through, when I was able regain my senses, I found myself in the pony world. When I saw they mirror I had fallen through, I tried to go back through, but unfortunately, it had sealed itself before I could make it. When that happened, I was heart broken, my family, everyone I knew at that time, I couldn't see them anymore I was all alone," Sunset said.
Rarity gasped as she hugged Sunset to comfort her, "Darling that's terrible."
"Well, then what happened?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"I tried to find out where I was, and well, now having turned pony, which, oddly enough I found cool at the time, I was unsteady, so I wasn't getting very far. But apparently, my troubled limbs had alerted these other ponies. Two in silver armor, and then a tall mare with a horn and wings trotted in. When she saw me, she was, well, at a loss for words. She didn't understand how a little filly had found her way into the castle, and the guards were about to have my thrown out into the streets of what they called Canterlot, when she stepped in and asked my situation. She knew that the mirror i came out of was a gateway to another realm. But she had never used it herself. But she also saw, after I had sneezed, which I still remember to this day, it sent a burst of magic bouncing all over the room. Apparently, that little display was enough to impress Celestia, and before I knew it, Celestia adopted me as her daughter. Granted, this adoption was held in secret, and the public was not made aware of it, for many reasons, anypony who saw me who wasn't in Celestia's circle of trust, saw me as one of her students, which, eventually, I did take on a role as her student at the School for Gifted Unicorns. As time went on however, that's where I started going down a darker path. I urged my mother that I was ready for higher levels of magic, but she told me I was getting ahead of myself. At the time, I thought that it was because she was jealous, and for that she was holding back higher levels of learning. I understand now that she was only wanting to look out for me. I mean, I was her daughter. She didn't want to loose me. But my ambitions led me to abandon my tutelage under her wing, and when the portal opened back up, I made a break for the human realm one more. When I returned home to my family I knew before the incident, it took some convincing, but eventually, they came to see that I was their daughter, and I wasn't just some random kid showing up claiming to be their long lost daughter. From there, you know the rest of what happened," Sunset finished.
"So you're saying?......" Princess Twilight was at a loss for words.
"The Sunset Shimmer of the Pony realm is still out there somewhere. Whether or not you will meet her in the future. I am not sure. I don't even know if we're the same age. I mean, you seemed to be a lot more mature in the pony realm when I came for the crown, then you looked like a complete teen when you showed up here. So, who knows, she may be older then me. Or she may still yet be a kid. We won't know until she shows up in your world. But someone's gonna have to explain to my pony mother that that Sunset Shimmer is not her adoptive daughter, or at least, she is, but she's the version no one knew about."
"Wow, such an exciting Story," Pinkie Pie said, as she was munching on some popcorn.
"Um..... when did she?" Professor Twilight started.
"It's Pinkie Pie. Don't question it," Sunset recommended.
"Well, this will be an interesting story to bring back to Equestria. Hopefully Celestia doesn't go crazy if we ever find her," Twilight said.
Meanwhile, in the pony realm back in Canterlot, Celestia had just finished seeing the royal nurse. She was pregnant. And pretty far along, which had explained her eating habits as of late. She also knew this foals conception was not of normal means, and Celestia smiled as she said, "I hope my human version daughter doesn't reveal too much to Twilight when the time comes to break the news. I don't think Twilight could wrap her head around it. Right, my little Sunset?" Celestia chuckled as she looked to her tummy.
She felt a kick which meant her foal agreed. And right now she was cracving MMMM cake, with a side pickles and Daisy Flavored Ramen.
