//------------------------------// // Best Day of My Life: Part 1 // Story: Rythm of change // by Till_the-end //------------------------------// Cameron Divelle, a 32 year old male, he loved just sitting in his house all day long. He had friends, but he only talks to them over internet or on his PS4. He rarely goes out, he lives in the suburbs, his house surrounded by trees. Everyday, he just lays in his bed or just sits in a gaming chair and just play any video games he has, and luckily, he has a high metabolism to help him stay skinny. Today, Cameron is just sitting in his gaming chair, playing God of War 3 on his PS4. Soon, everything just starts shaking violently, freaking him out; it's an earthquake. Cameron gets out of his chair and tries to run out of his house, but the ceiling starts to collapse from the giant shock wave, and a piece of the roof falls on top of Cameron. To him, it feels no time has passed after getting hit by the debris, but the last thing he sees is a white room and laying down on some bed and a beeping noise going into one long beep. Cameron once again, finds himself in a white room, but he is standing, unharmed, and the room is endless, "Where the hell am I?" Cameron asked to himself. "You are in Limbo" a voice spoke to him, "but you seemed to have had an uneventful life." "Whoa wait, who the hell is talking?" Cameron asked "Everyone knows who I am, it's just if you believe in me." "What? What the hell are you talking about?" "Time is limited, child, just listen, you have lived an uneventful life, staying in one place, doing nothing with it, and with your death, I decide to give you another life, one where you will be able to have a more eventful, one where it can suit you much more." Before Cameron can say a single word, he is sent into yet another room, colored glass pane windows, smooth stone floor, the room itself is very long and wide and a carpet leading to two thrones. Cameron stands up and walks over to the thrones and puts his hand on an arm of the chair, then he noticed something, his hand looked differently. He quickly looked into a window, the sunlight slightly showing his reflection, he was younger, about 19 years old. He had small scruff on his chin, beard growing in well actually. He had a leather jacket on and he had brown shaggy hair. What he saw that was normal was his blue colored eyes, and his white shirt and blue jeans, "What the f-!" Cameron was saying, until he was engulfed in a dark blue aura and he is lifted off the ground, of course, with Cameron's dismay, and screaming. "What are you!? How did you get into our castle!" A dark blue and spotted with black, bipedal pony, with hair and a tail that look just like the night sky, flowing from no wind, she yells at a VERY high volume, deafening Cameron. "Please calm down, dear sister. This is the specimen that I have had the dreams about." Another bipedal pony said, walking into the throne room, she was taller than the other one, she is white and spotted with yellow, and hair and tail just like the other one, except a rainbow color, them both wearing dresses though. "This thing?" The smaller pony asked, "I know you said they were hairless in most places and that they had smaller faces, but I wasn't imagining...anything like this" "Hey!" Cameron yelled at the insult, also getting their attention. "My apologies, dear human, my sister is just trying to protect the castle and the civilians of our kingdom" They white pony said, Cameron, however, just has nothing else to say, looking between the two supposed princesses, "Oh, where are my manners? My name is Princess Celestia, and this is my younger sister, Princess Luna...Luna, you may set him down now." Luna sets him down and bows, "My apologies, human" "Do you have a name, human?" Celestia asks Cameron stays quiet for a bit, trying to contemplate that there are two bipedal ponies talking to him and that they both have horns sticking out of their heads and wings on their back, "My...name is Cameron" They both bow down in front of him and greet him, "I have had a dream that you would one day show up to this world, and to think the first place you would show up is the throne room" Celestia said. "wait wait wait" Cameron says, finally completely coming back to his senses, "Where are am I? Why am I talking to...winged unicorns? And why am I so much younger than before?" "You are in the land of Equestria, and we are alicorns, and as for your younger age, that is not something we can answer" Cameron once again looks around the throne room, "How did I even get here?" "That is yet another question we do not have an answer to" Luna answered. "If it is not too much trouble" Celestia says as she floats over a notebook and a pencil, "I would like for you to, at least once a week, write down everything about you and your world" Cameron takes the pencil and notebook "...wait a minute, I don't even have a place to stay, and how do I know if this all just a dream or not?" Celestia once again lifts up the notebook, rolls it up and whacks him on the head with it. "Ow!" Cameron says, holding his head. "Did that hurt?" Celestia asks, with Cameron nodding, "Then this is not a dream, and I have just the place for someone like you" "Really? Where?" Cameron asks, and before he knows it, he is at the front gates of Ponyville, "Ponyville...what an...original name" he says as he just takes one step past the front gate, he immediately hears something from far away, screaming and coming towards him. "NEEEEEEW PONYYYYYYYY" A bright pink pony says, coming at him like she were a race car going full speed down the tracks, and taking and immediate stop right in front of him, with a HUGE smile on her face, "HiI'mPinkiePie, what'syourname? Youdon'tlooklikeanormalpony, whatspeciesareyou, IcouldhaveswornIfeltanewponyarrive, notananimal." Her whole sentence being in one breath. Frankly, Cameron was amazed about how much she talked and how fast, "Hey, I'm not an animal and I'm not a pony" Pinkie blinks twice and gasps loudly and once again zooms off, leaving a puff of dust behind in the shape of her own body. "...well whatever" Cameron says, trying to get used to all of the ponies, all of the pegasi, all of the...colors. He walks through the town, ponies either stare at him or hide from him. He ignores it all, moving quickly to his new house. All around him, he hears ponies saying words like animal, monster, scary, especially from the foals. He finally gets to his house and just runs in and slams the door, "Fucking hell...this is so stupid". He stops when a piece of paper slides under his door, "Already? I just came here" He says as he picks up the paper and reads it. HELLOOO NEW FRIEND We invite you, and by we, I mean me, Pinkie Pie! Where were we? Oh yeah, I invite you to a welcome party at Sugarcube Corner Sugarcube Corner is the gingerbread house that I tried to eat one time 5 PM Cameron just stares at the paper, surprised that someone is already inviting him to something, and wondering if he should actually go, for one thing, he's an introvert, another thing, is that they will probably just treat him like an animal or a monster for being human. He looks at the time on a clock that's on a wall and sees that it's 3:30. With a shrug, considering it for a bit, her throws the card on a table in his living room and he takes a look around, the house seems normal, a living room and a kitchen connecting to the living room and dining room, a second floor that he will explore later, and a bathroom down the hall. Cameron rubs his eyes and falls on a couch in front of the table and collapses on it, dozing off. Sugarcube corner "Pinkie, there is no way that the...thing is gonna show up at a party" Rainbow Dash says to her best friend. "Oh don't be such a pessimist, Dashie, whatever he is, he is still like us" Pinkie replies. "Maybe it could be an animal that just wandered in town" Twilight suggests. "Oh, i-if it's an animal, maybe I can talk to it to coming here...i-if that's okay with all of you" Fluttershy says meekly. "Well hold y'all's horses, we just have to give the thing some time, it just showed up after all and it seemed like it didn't know what was going on around it, a bit scared" Applejack says. "Well if it DOES show up, do not let it anywhere near my mane, who knows where its hands have been" Rarity says, brushing her curly mane. "Well, I guess we will just see what happens then" says Twilight. Cameron's home Cameron jolts up from his nap, who had a nightmare. He looks around and sees the house he has settled in, "So this part isn't a dream, unless Inception is real" Cameron says to himself, getting off the couch. He suddenly feels light headed from standing up too fast, he catches himself by putting his hand on the table. He feels the card he got from earlier. He picks it up and stares at it a bit, thinking about the welcoming party he is supposedly getting. He looks back at his clock and it's 4:55, "Damn it...I should probably go...this is hospitality after all" he says to himself and he yawns, walking to the front door. He walks outside and uses the key he has gotten and locks the door. Turning around, he sees the streets more empty than the last he was outside. With a sigh, he walks around town, never having gotten actual directions on the card, but he soon finds the gingerbread bakery he was told about, taking him about 15 minutes to find. With a deep breath, he walks to the door a knocks, but the door just slowly opens, "Not...creepy at all" he says to himself and he walks in. Right then, the lights turn on and several ponies jump out and yell "SURPRISE", causing Cameron to jump back in surprise. "Surprise! Surprise! Aww, I missed it again" Pinkie said. Cameron looks around at the crowd of ponies, who exchange looks with a bit of skepticism and fear. "Come on everypony, this does not sound like a party!" Pinkie yelled, playing a song on a gramophone nearby, playing party music. The music itself gets all the pony's attention, getting them distracted from Cameron, and they dance, laugh, and talk, with some glances being thrown toward Cameron. Cameron just stands at the door, scared to move, him being an introvert his whole life is not helping with this situation he is currently in. He suddenly gets pushed forward by the door behind him opening on his back. Stumbling forward and fall on his stomach, having no footing, he turns his head and looks at who the rude person is that pushed him. "Oops, I'm so sorry mister, are you okay?" Said a grey pony. Cameron looks at her, she of course had a grey fur coat, she had beautiful blonde hair, she was pretty skinny as well, she looked very worried, and Cameron notices that the pony has asymmetrical eyes, "I didn't hurt you did I? I'm sorry, I tend to get ponies hurt or I break things no matter where I go...you aren't mad at me, are you?" Cameron slowly shakes his head, making the pony smile brightly and she holds a hand out to him. Cameron hesitantly grabs her hand, he feels the fur on her hand, it's soft, as soft as a cloud. He gets pulled up off the floor and he is face to face with his attacker/helper. She just smiles and walks past him, joining others into the party, Cameron watching her leave, staring at where she entered the crowd and disappearing in to the abyss. Cameron slowly walks over to a counter nearby, still watching at where the grey pony went. With his mind racing at who that was and him not being able to hear over the music, he doesn't notice that an orange pony was trying to get his attention, the pony soon just tapping on his shoulder, rather rough, "Ow" Cameron says, grabbing his shoulder and looking over at the orange pony, she has blonde hair as well tied into a pony tail. "Ah was asking if yah wanted some of the best apple cider ya'll will ever have" She says with a bit of hesitation. Cameron looks at her and looks behind her, seeing a bunch of barrels, probably filled with the cider, "uh...sure?" Cameron says. Without another word, and fluid movement, the orange pony fills up a large cup of apple cider and slides it across the counter to him. Cameron quickly grabs it and some of it spills onto his arm from the momentum having the cider jump out of the cup, "ugh.." Cameron says, upset about the cider getting on his jacket, he just ignores it and looks at the dancing ponies and takes a sip of the cider, he then quickly starts drinking more and more of what is left in his cup, the taste was something he has never tasted before, it was like a party in his own mouth. He goes back to the orange pony and asks her for more. The orange pony laughs, "Hold your saddles, partner, don't forget that there is some alcohol in cider, don't want you to be drinking too much...I'm applejack by the way, but some folks call me AJ." Cameron stares at her and chuckles a bit, "Like the cereal?" "what cereal?" AJ asks Cameron facepalms to himself in his head, of course it is much more different here, "Uh, nevermind...just drunk yammering" AJ looks at him questionably and smiles, "Guess you don't need anymore partner, if you are already doing drunk yammering" "heh..." Cameron says and just sits back in his seat, looking at his cup now. "....what are you doing?" AJ asks. "Huh? nothing" Cameron says, looking back at her. AJ goes right in front of him and puts hands down on the counter, "Now that's the problem, this is ya'll's party, and yah even showed up, ya'll have to do something here, not just...nothing, go dance or something." Cameron sits in the seat, looking at the crowd of ponies on the dance floor, feeling very nervous. After thinking for a little bit, he finally decides...to stay seated. "Oh come on, go and do something" a blue winged pony said next to him, making Cameron jump a bit in surprise, not noticing her until now. "This blue surprise right here is mah friend, Rainbow Dash" AJ says to Cameron. "Heh, sorry bud, didn't mean to scare you" Rainbow said, rubbing the back of her head with a goofy smile. Cameron stays quiet, too nervous to say anything, "Uh...so, what's your name?" After more awkward silence between the two, Cameron finally speaks "Um...Cameron Divelle" "Really? That's a strange name" Rainbow said says, getting hit in the ribs by AJ's elbow, "Ow" "That's rude...hey, how about yah meet mah other friends?" AJ says. Cameron stays quiet and sort of shrugs, still nervous. "Seems like a yes to me" Rainbow says, flying away and quickly flying back with four other ponies being basically dragged on the floor. Cameron looks at the four new ponies, well, he already knew Pinkie from his first meeting, but he sees a lavender pony that is looking at him questionably, a white pony that is not exactly looking at him, but more at his clothes, and a vanilla colored one that is hiding behind Rainbow Dash, "The egghead here is Twilight Sparkle" Rainbow said, gesturing to Twilight, getting a small glare in return, "This is Rarity, she makes dresses and suits." "I do have to say...what is your jacket made of? I have not seen any fabric of any sorts such as that" Rarity asked Cameron. Cameron freezes up, not knowing how to answer such a question with a scary answer, how would they react if he told them, do they even know what leather is? He keeps thinking to himself, until Rainbow speaks up again, "You can ask him another time, Rare, lets get to know the guy at least." "Of course, my apologies" Rarity said, taking a small bow to show respect. "And this yellow ray of sunshine is Fluttershy" Rainbow said, trying to pry the cowering pony from hiding behind her. Cameron looked at her, even though she is a pony, she looks down right gorgeous, she kept looking down at her feet and shuffling, honestly, Cameron is not interested into girls as shy as her. Out of the blue, Pinkie Pie runs up to Cameron, getting in his face like when they first met, "Hey! So do you have any talents? I was never able to ask last time, I was just so excited for a newcomer and also for this party, I just love parties you, know I can't get enough of them, that is what my cutie mark stands for, I'm the best party thrower in all of Equestria, well, next to Cheese Sandwich." Cameron is still trying to process every word that Pinkie has said and he looks over at the others, hoping they understood anything she said. "She just wants to know your talents, Pinkie Pie just likes to talk, sorry about her" Twilight said to Cameron. "well..." Cameron said, trailing off, trying to think of anything, "I do play guitar, actually." "Oo! Can you sing!?" Pinkie yelled. "Uh...I suppose?" Cameron said questionably to himself. "Yes! You can get on stage and perform for us." Pinkie said, pushing him along toward a stage that he strangely never saw before, he looks around, freaking out a bit, he sees a DJ booth though, with a white pony with purple glasses, blasting the music for the party and loving her own music like it was her baby. Before he knows it, he is standing on stage in front of a crowd of ponies and the DJ smiling at him, stopping her music and waiting for him to perform, Pinkie handing him a guitar, "Play something upbeat! Get everyone to smile!" Cameron stood on stage with guitar in hands...he slowly sits down on a stool nearby and he feels something in his jacket, he reaches in and takes out a phone, he felt his own soul sigh in relief, he turns it on...no Wi-Fi and no signal, of course. He looks back at the waiting crowd and back down on his phone...he used to love downloading music without the guitar and lead singer so he could play it instead, so he quickly goes to a song that he had downloaded on his phone, thinking if he cant contact anyone with his phone, he might as well make the best with what he got. He goes over to the DJ booth and thankfully, there is an AUX cord he can plug his phone into and he sits back, picks up the guitar and presses play on the song. Best Day of My Life: Part 1
