//------------------------------// // Moving In... // Story: I don't think "Crazy" suits her like you believe... // by MyNameIsKassie //------------------------------// Kassie sighed, it was really difficult to move out of her old house, and even more difficult to make new friends. "I wish I could start over already..." She whispered, slowly unpacking her things from the boxes. "I don't know anyone here and I don't feel like I'll fit in." At some point, her best friend came running in the room and barked. "What is it Glitch?" She asked miserably. "IT'S SO NICE OUT, I WANNA SIT OUTSIDE FOR A BIT!" Glitch responded, huffing like an excited dog. Kasuna grunted. "Fine. Come." She stood up and took the overly excited wolf pup out the front. They sat there for maybe half an hour, barely speaking. Kassie was obviously ashamed of herself from the day she earned her 'special talent', because she was hiding her Cutie Mark behind her tail so nopony would see it. "Stop hiding your Mark Kas. You look stupid." Glitch said. Kassie lowered her head. "They'll see it and think I'm a psycho. No way I'm gonna stop hiding it." "Oh stop, I know you, and if you really were psycho, you would've eaten me for dinner the day you met me." Glitch assured her. Kasuna sighed. Glitch was right, but then again, she and the wolf knew each other since the week Kassie started attending school in Baltimare. The ponies in Ponyville don't know her, and at first glance, they'd think she was a murderer. "I'm going inside for a sec. I'll be back." Kas told her. Glitch nodded and continued watching the ponies in the town do their things. When Kasuna was back in her soon-to-be house, she pulled out some paint from a box and grabbed brushes. She mixed pink with red and a hint of purple to match the color of her coat and started painting over her Cutie Mark, as if she was pretending to be a blank flank. By the time she was done, she washed the paint off the brushes and the pallet and put them back in their original place. Hoping the paint was dry, she went back outside to go for a little walk. "KASSIE!" Glitch yelled as her BPFF (Best Pony Friend Forever) started to head to the streets for a walk. "What?" She asked, turning around to face her BWFF (Best Wolf Friend Forever). "Where are you going?" She asked. "On a walk. You can go play with other animals while I'm gone, since you have some friends here." Glitch's ears drooped down but she stayed cheerful. "Okay." And with that she was off. The magenta mare sighed and continued walking, earning glares, jokes and laughter from others about her 'blank flank'. 'At least it's better than being called crazy' She thought to herself. About halfway through her walk, she heard sounds that almost completely matched those of airplanes, and she looked up just in time to duck out of the way of three really fast pegasi, who were most likely out training for something. She was knocked to the pavement hard and winced in pain as she felt blood seeping out from a scrape on her right hoof. The three pegasi landed and skidded to a halt as soon as they heard a mare squeak in pain. Everyone turned to see the three of them quickly rush over to see if the mare was alright, a wave of guilt washing over them due to being the cause of her crash. "Are you okay?" A yellow mare asked. "Yeah... I'm... Fine, thanks..." Kassie responded. "We are soooooo sorry, miss. Couldn't see you there until it was too late. You sure you're okay?" A light teal mare rushed over and asked. Kassie just groaned in response. "Is anything hurting bad? Or just minor injuries?" A pale blue stallion asked as he slowly approached her, checking for anything really bad. "Not that I can see. Fleet?" The yellow one said. "Nothing too bad, I think there's just a few scrapes." Kassie nodded dizzily and struggled to get to her hooves again. "As Fleet said, we are terribly sorry for not paying attention, promise it'll never happen again, miss." The blue one said, saluting nervously. "Oh, cut it out Soar, this isn't Princess Celestia we're talking to!" The yellow one told him. "Sorry ma'am." He responded while rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment. "Anyways," The yellow one started. "Name's Spitfire, Soarin, and Fleetfoot." She gestured to the blue and teal pegasi as she said that. "You?" Kasuna hesitated, hoping they wouldn't know her name from anywhere. "K-Kasuna..." She stuttered. "Nice to meet you, but we gotta fly. See you around?" Spitfire said. "Sure, I guess..." Kas said quietly as she watched them fly off again. It was then that she noticed everyone staring at her and she blushed from embarrassment. She decided now would be a good time to go home. When she got home, Glitch was in the house already. "What took you so long?" She said. "I collided with the Wonderbolts earlier." Glitch's face lit up. "You WHAT?!" "I told you, they crashed into me by mistake and knocked me to the ground. I'm fine, though." Glitch calmed down a bit and let her BPFF talk. They talked for about an hour about what went on during the day for both of them, and before they knew it, they were preparing to sleep. Kassie was just unpacking a bit more before she saw a gray stallion come to her window and knock on it, causing her to jump. She opened the window and he flew in. "So, you collided with the 'Bolts?" He asked and she flushed in embarrassment. "Yeah..." She mumbled, and he gave a slight laugh. "Lucky, they're my idols." He said. "Really?" She asked, the stallion nodded. "Hey, are you a robot too?" He suddenly asked, noticing her wings. "No, I was an earth pony at birth, I wanted to be a pegasus so I had these put on when I was younger." "So you're transspecies?" "Basically, yes." He chuckled again and then said, "Well, name's Di Red, you?" She didn't hesitate to answer this time. "Kasuna." He smiled at her. "I like that name." Hearing that made her blush lightly, and she hoped he wouldn't notice. The two pegasi sat in silence for about ten minutes before Red spoke up. "Well, I should get going, see you tomorrow maybe?" Kasuna nodded happily. "Sure, why not?" With that he waved and flew back out the window. Kassie thought for a bit after getting into bed not long after. First, her and Glitch relaxed outside, then, she went for a walk and accidentally collided with a world famous stunt flying team who seemed to make friends with her, and now she found a really cute stallion who wanted to hang with her! For her first day in Ponyville, it sure went pretty well!
