Spike Pie

Nice to meet'cha Gilda

Spike was in the kitchen, baking a breakfast cake, while Pinkie was out doing pranks with Rainbow. Spike was just putting the last touches in the batter when he heard the bell ring. He popped up from behind the counter, still stirring the ingredients. In front of him was a griffin who didn't look like she had expected a dragon to pop up.

"What the!?" she said

"What's up?" Spike said. "Names Spike, I'll be baking your order today."

"What's a dragon doing working in a pony bakery?" she asked suspiciously.

"What's a griffin doing at a pony bakery?” Spike shot back.

"Touche," she noted with a shrug, "names Gilda."

"Name’s Spike," Spike replied once more, "What can I get for ya Gilda?"

"Hm, a dozen donuts Spike, with extra chocolate."

Spike walked back into the kitchen, poured the cake batter into a tray, stuffed it into the oven, and started on the doughnuts.

"So," Spike called, "what's a griffin doing in Ponyville?"

"I'm looking for an old friend, Rainbow Dash, you wouldn't happen to kno–" She was interrupted when Spike popped into existence next to her with a box of chocolate doughnuts."Whoa! How the heck did you get over here!?"

"Not important!" Spike said as he handed her the box,"That'll be twelve bits, and I'll take you to Rainbow as well.”

"....what are you, a genie you have to pay?" Gilda asked as she paid him.

"That would be awesome and would suck!" Spike said as he flipped the open sign to closed and pulled the cake out of the oven.

"What's with the cake?"

"It's my breakfast," Spike said, starting to eat as they walked.

Gilda looked him up and down. "You definitely have a screw loose," she decided after some time. After walking around for a little bit, they found Pinkie and Rainbow laughing their heads off. "Hey Rainbow!"

Both Pinkie and Rainbow turned and Rainbow’s face lit up. "No way! Gilda!"

While Gilda was talking to Rainbow, Pinkie walked to Spike, "Who's that?"

"Old friend of Rainbows," Spike said. "We should give them a minute. Want some cake?"

"Oh, breakfast cake!" Pinkie said as she had some too. After a while, Rainbow and Gilda walked over to the two eating cake.

"And this is Spike and Pinkie, they’re awesome."

"I've already met the dragon who defies logic."

"Well then, " Rainbow said, "meet the pony that defies logic."

"Hello," Pinkie said happily, shaking hoof and claw with Gilda.

"Alrighty then," Gilda said, "make me question logic in general."

Pinkie and Spike looked at each other, and Pinkie turned herself into a cube. Spike spun and jumped in the air, flying with balloons that had come out of who knows where, and they both said
"We're siblings!"

Gilda was silent. "Ok," she said, "I'm questioning whether or not I'm awake or not now."

"Success!" Pinkie said, uncubifying herself. She turned and found both Gilda and Rainbow flying away. "Hey! They ditched us!"

"Ha," Spike said. "They can't get away from us! Basket mode activate!" Spike suddenly had a basket tied to his arms and legs.

"Let's go!" Pinkie yelled as she jumped into the basket.

-Further ahead of them-

"You've got some weird friends," Gilda said.

"Oh yeah, let's land on that cloud. I bet you in less than a minute they'll find a way to get to us and bug us some more."

"Alright." They landed and true to Rainbow’s word, the Spike balloon was next to them in less than a minute.

"What the fu–" Gilda started, but was interrupted by Rainbow’s laugh.

"Ha! Spike you look so stupid!"

Gilda frowned and thought for a second. "Hey Rainbow, let's race to that cloud way up there!"

"You're on!" Rainbow said flying off in a flash. Gilda turned and flew up to Spike.

"Go away," she said simply and popped several balloons.

"Whoa!" Spike yelled as he and Pinkie fell, only just managing to stop with more balloons. After landing, Pinkie was watching the two fly away.

"You won’t get away from me!" she yelled. "We’re gonna be besties!" Pinkie ran off, leaving Spike to watch her run after them.

"My break ended like 10 minutes ago," he said as he turned and left Pinkie to befriend Gilda. He had some sweets to bake.

-A few hours later.-

Spike was in the middle of cooking a huge order of cupcakes with Mr. Cake when Pinkie ran in the front door with Rainbow Dash in tow, both grinning from ear to ear. Before either Spike or Mr. Cake could ask, Rainbow put a bag of bits on the counter.

"We need one XL-sized Cake and some trick candles please," Rainbow said.

"For?" Spike asked as Mr. Cake wrote down the order and removed the appropriate price from the bit bag.

"We're throwing a party!" Pinkie yelled.

-After the party-

"That could have been better." Pinkie said as she, Spike, and the Cakes cleaned up the mess.

"What were the odds that Gilda would activate all the pranks?" Mr.Cake asked, "I mean, seriously, that was just bad luck if I've ever seen it." Spike and Mrs.Cake agreed.

"Oh well," Pinkie sighed, "You can't win them all."
