Chapter 2: Training

As you all know, combat has been Frisk's passion since she was a child. And, despite everything that has happened, she only grew stronger, faster, and she never gave up trying to be the best. The passion would ultimately pass on to the younger ones.
Once, Astell heard the voices of her parents in the training room. They seemed to be practicing.
'Whoa, hey Lunar, come over here! You need to see this!' She said.
He gasped. 'Wow, they are fighters as well? No way!'

Inside, the humans were practicing with Frisk.
'Are you ready?' Mark asked.
She got her swords ready. 'This is so familiar...' She thought. 'Okay, let's go!'
This time, Frisk wanted a challenge. She only gets to use swords, but the humans get to use magic. But, it was no problem for the once combat legend. After they were defeated in a close match, Asriel joined in, and so did Twilight and Nathan.
'Yo, that's my parents over there! Hope they win,' Lunar thought.
'Ha, the Dreemurs are going to win for sure, you wanna make a bet?' Astell said with a smile.
Lunar gave her a high-five. 'You're on.'
The two couples pulled out their swords and got their magic ready.
'Haven't battled each other since the pony war, you ready, Frisk?' Twilight asked.
She was filled with determination. 'Can't say no to a rematch.'
The duel went on for about 10 minutes or so until Nathan went down. Twilight was surprisingly good, though, she managed to fight Asriel off.
'Why weren't you this good in the war back then?' Frisk asked.
Twilight smiled. 'This is just a duel, no need for seriousness... But, that's because I'm your friend.'
Their blades clashed, and another 5-minute battle went on, and then, out of nowhere, Twilight stabs the sword right into Frisk's heart.
'Oh no! Is she going to die!?' Astell was shocked.
But then, the sword faded like magic. Turns out, it wasn't a real sword, it was just a virtual one, created by magic!
'Phew, luckily we didn't use the real deal...' Frisk said, breathing heavily. 'But... Wow. When did you get this good?'
Twilight helped her friend get up. 'Oh, nothing really. Can't believe I beat you for once.'

As they chatted while exiting, their children came in.
'Whoa, that was sick, mom! How did you do that?' Lunar asked excitedly.
'Yeah, we want to be like that too!' Astell cried.
Asriel chuckled. 'What do you say, Frisk? Give them a chance? We could just use the thing we just used.'
'Alright, people have been talking about them being our successors... They are gonna have to be prepared for that.' She replied.

So, starting at the age of 10, the former legends teamed up to help their children prepare. It was all about the genetics, though. Since combat was their thing, Astell and Lunar got on to the ropes fairly quickly. They got to the point where they could just about match up with the four slowed down by half since they were way too fast for the two.
Lunar was practicing with Nathan. 'That's it, keep it going, you got this!' Nathan told him, blocking his attacks one by one. Lunar swung his sword, clashing with his dad's.
'Okay... And swing his sword away right now...' Lunar thought.
He swung his sword downwards, then back up again, flicking away Nathan's weapon.
'Good job, you're getting better every day.' He patted his son's head.
A while later, Frisk came in with Astell.
'Say, Nathan, I don't know about you, but I have a cool idea.' She said.
'What is it?'
Then, she whispered something to him.
'Oh, that will be interesting.' He replied. 'So, boys and girls, you guys are going to go up against each other.'
Lunar was scared. 'Wait wait wait, but she's a human! She's obviously better than me! Also, we're friends! We can't do that!' He tried to cuddle Astell.
'Oh come on, it's just a friendly battle, it'll be fun, wouldn't it? We're not actually killing each other...' Astell told him.
So they both got ready and had a determined look on their faces.
'Our first battle with each other... Good luck, Lunar.' She smiled, putting out her hand.
He smiled and gave her a handshake before starting. 'You too, Astell. No need to go easy on me.'
As they walked away from each other, they were ready.
'Okay! Three, two, one...' Nathan counted down.
'This will be very amusing.' Frisk thought. 'And now, fight!' She called out.
They both ran to each other, and their swords clashed. Their fight was a bit slower, though, it was around 10 minutes. Both sides went back and forth, and they were at an impasse.
'Heh, pretty good, Astell.' Lunar said, his face pressed close to Astell as he defended with his sword.
'(Grunting) You think you're good, huh?' She replied, flicking his sword away in a second.
Then, Lunar flew into the air and started blasting her with magic.
'Hey! Not fair, Lunar! You can fly!' Astell cried.
As he got her weak, he turned into a human with a spell.
'Wait, what!? Since when he knew how to do that?' Nathan exclaimed. 'I never knew Twilight taught her!'
Grabbing his sword, he charged at his friend, fighting away her sword and stabbed it right into her heart. Then, the sword disappeared, like they expected.
'Wow, good game guys!' Frisk said, clapping her hands.
Lunar turned back into a pony, helping Astell get up and hugged her.
'I'm sorry, Astell. I didn't mean to.' He said, feeling shy.
But she laughed. 'Wow, you are amazing! Even better than I am!'
Suddenly, his body started to glow, and he lifted into the air (without flying).
'Oh, no way. No freaking way.' Nathan thought, gasping.
As he returned to the ground, Frisk gasped as well.
'Whoa... what just happened?' Lunar asked.
Frisk looked at him. 'Lunar, look! Your cutie mark! Right there!' She pointed to where it was.
His cutie mark was similar to Frisk's pony cutie mark, which was a pattern of dual swords, but his one had a heart-shaped shield over it.
'Wow... What does it mean?' He asked curiously.
'I'm not really sure either... I know it has something to do with your destiny, so your destiny is the same as mine!' Frisk explained happily. 'I think we need to tell the cutie mark crusaders soon, this is wonderful!'
Nathan pushed her away in excitement.
'Oh my gosh!!! I am so proud of you!' He squeaked excitedly, then taking him out by using magic. 'Twilight!!!! You need to see this!' He ran away.
Frisk got up. 'Ouch, tell me the next time you decide to freaking do that...'
'Mom, I wanna have a cutie mark too!' Astell said, pulling her mom's arm.
'Sorry girl, I think humans sadly can't get them. But, that doesn't mean you don't have a destiny. It's just a way to show what you're meant to be. The reason I have one is because I can turn into a pony since I was reborn as a pony, but I can still be a human because I mastered the race-changing spell.' Frisk explained, then turning into her pony form. 'See the difference?'
'You look better in your human form,' Astell commented.

Now, Astell and Lunar aren't just friends, they are partners. They will practice with each other when they have the time, and when they're not on the training ground, they would chill out and play video games together. They even starred in some of the group channel's videos!
But, what they don't know, is that their friendship is about to be torn apart...

On the moon of the earth, a wizard was brewing two special potions in his lab.
'Just need to add this drop...' He said, carefully pouring the mix.
'Good. Now, the important ingredient. The dark magic.' He said to himself, grabbing the flask. 'This potion has helped me succeed twice now... Hopefully, this works. This time, I will make sure the spell won't be easily broken again.'
He poured the dark magic poison into the potions, and with a flash of smoke, the potions were complete: One of them was dark red, and the other was dark blue.
'Perfect. Now... To cast the spell that worked on that man who betrayed me...' He thought. He cast a spell, and the two liquids turned into crystal souls.
'Finally done! The ruby red and sapphire blue souls... When I put them into their hearts, they will identify themselves as Ruby Red and Sapphire Blue... And they will hate each other so much they will want to go all out on each other. And then, once I have gained enough hatred magic...' He took out a meter that measured the amount of hatred he had received from his plans. It was 80 percent full. 'I will finally break free from her spell, and I can finally kill her, and kill everyone!'
He put the souls inside a little bag. 'Right. The best part. Replacing their souls. I have never done this before... One reason why I always failed. Time to turn into my ghost form, and initiate my plan...'
The wizard turned into a ghost and flew to Equestria.
