Chapter 1: The Helping Hoof

“No, I love you more.” Spike said to the filly beside him.

“No, I love you more!” Sweetie Belle repeated, a bit of anger in her voice.

“No, I lo--!” Spike was cut short, as his Special Somepony was now kissing him fully on his lips. His eyes began to close as he kissed her back, placing his claw in her mane and brushing through it. After a few more seconds, the two pulled away from each other, both breathing heavily.

“There,” Sweetie said. “We love… each other… equally.”

“Alright,” Spike replied, breathing just as hard. “I'm… fine… with that.”

The two were walking down the streets of Ponyville, not taking their gazes off of each other's eyes. They were in a relationship for a few months now, and both have been as happy as can be.

“Well,” Sweetie said. “I would love to stay and kiss you more, but I gotta go. Official crusader business.”

“Oh, okay,” Spike said back. “Just as long as I see you sometime later.”

“Oh course I will.” Sweetie smiled as she placed a small kiss on the dragon's cheek before running off.

*Knock Knock Knock*

“Who is it?” A voice from inside called out to Sweetie Belle.

“Applebloom, it's me.”

The door suddenly swung open, revealing Sweetie’s friend.

“You’re late again.” Applebloom told her.

“I know, I know,” the unicorn told her. “But I have a perfectly good explanation. You see, I was--”

“Out in town, making out with Spike?” Another voice asked, finishing her sentence. Sweetie looked over to see Scootaloo, lying on the ground of the clubhouse was an annoyed look on her face.

“Y-yes.” Sweetie answered.

Applebloom sighed. “Well, I guess that leads into why I called you hear today.”

Sweetie Belle slowly walked into the clubhouse, staring at Applebloom as she waited for what she was going to say.

“Sweetie Belle, you've been spending too much time with Spike. It's ruining our friendship!”

Sweetie was confused. “How?”

“Don't you know? If you spend too much time away from somepony, it's obvious you don't care about them.”

“So, what are you saying,” Sweetie Belle asked. “That I should just stop dating Spike all together and only focus my life to be with you two?”

“If it means spending more time with us, maybe.” Applebloom answered.

Sweetie Belle sighed. “Applebloom, I know my relationship with Spike has taken up most of my free time. But, I want you to understand that even if I have a Special Somepony, I will still be your best friend, no matter what. It's just, you’ll understand if you have a Special Somepony.”

“Well, I don't,” the earth pony said. “And to perfectly honest, I'm not really looking for one.”

“Oh, come on Applebloom,” Sweetie said back. “There has to be somepony out there who you have feelings for.”

“Nope, not a single one.”

Suddenly, an idea shot into Sweetie’s mind. “Well, what if we look for somepony? There's probably at least one colt out there who likes you. Maybe you could ask out that colt you like Scootaloo.”

As her name left Sweetie Belle’s mouth, Scootaloo felt her heart drop. “Oh no. Leave me out of this. I’ve said it before and I'll say it again. I won't date anypony. Not now, not ever!”

“Oh Scootaloo,” Sweetie Belle said with a grin. “I know for a fact that you have a crush on somepony.”

“No, I d-don't.” Scootaloo said, her cheeks beginning to turn red.

“Don't lie to me Scoots,” the unicorn was now smirking. “I can see your red cheeks.”

Scootaloo sighed in defeat. “Alright, alright. I may have a tiny crush on somepony.”

“There, that's better,” Sweetie said. “You now know not to lie, as ponies will eventually find out. Now, who's the pony you’re secretly liking?”

Scootaloo’s cheeks continued to stay a shade of red as she looked back down to the floor, embarrassed. “I-I can't t-tell you.”

“Why not?”

“B-because you would laugh. I hate the fact that I'm actually in love to begin with.”

“Scootaloo, I promise with all my heart that we won't laugh,” Sweetie told her, putting a hoof on her friend’s shoulder. “Right Applebloom?”

“Of course.” Applebloom replied.

“You promise?” Scootaloo asked.

“Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.”

Scootaloo sighed once again before revealing who she likes. “I-it's Rumble.”

Sweetie Belle raised an eyebrow. “Why would you think we would have a problem with Rumble? If anything, we actually think you two could make a cute couple.”

“Really?”

“Absolutely,” Sweetie answered. “You just need to tell him how you feel.”

“But how do I do it,” Scootaloo asked, beginning to panic. “What if he says no? What if he laughs at me? What if he--”

“SCOOTALOO!” Sweetie Belle and Applebloom shouted, interrupting her sentence.

“That's not going to happen,” Sweetie Belle said, calming her down. “You know Rumble pretty well, right?”

“Y-yeah.” Scootaloo answered.

“So, he might be more than happy to be your Special Somepony. Besides. For all we know, he might even have a crush on you.”

Scootaloo continued to stare at the floor, thinking about what her friend just said. “I-I hope you're right. Still, can you help me out with t-this? I don't think I can do this all on my own.”

“Of course I’ll help you out,” Sweetie replied. “I can even give you tips on how to be a great fillyfriend.”

“Ahem,” Applebloom cleared her throat. “What happened to helping me find a Special Somepony?”

“I thought you said you didn't have your eyes set on somepony?”

“I don't,” the earth pony said. “I just want to see if there's anypony who has romantic feelings for me. It may sound weird, but it could be for the best.”

Sweetie Belle smiled. “Alright. Let's get going!”

“CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS SPECIAL SOMEPONY FINDERS!”
