Dear Spike,

Never stop reaching for greater heights
Never stop discovering who you are
Never stop doing what’s right
Never stop shining, Equestria’s Star.

Your heart is not a perfect one, you’ve struggled as we all do, but your heart is a beautiful one that treasures family like precious jewels.
Your heart is of two worlds, dragon and pony, and those worlds make your heart a lustrous cosmos in a galaxy of pearls.
Your heart does not beat for you alone, but for Twilight, for Rarity, for Applejack, for Fluttershy, for Pinkie Pie, for Rainbow Dash, for Starlight Glimmer, for Thorax, for Ember, for Cadence, for Shining Armor, for all of Equestria; you are their keystone
Your heart touched mine and fixed its sorrow and silence, your heart is an unbreakable diamond that can only grow.

For one who had given up on life like me, overcome with sadness from the world’s abuse and my failures, you gave me a new purpose and charted my destiny.
For one who felt he was nothing like me, told by those he once admired he could only fail in every endeavor, you drove away my self-doubt and my loathing.

You never even had to say a word to me, you just had to appear in my mind to fill my abyss, be yourself to make my pain flee, you helped me find that I can do this:
Write your stories that a few will see
Fight through hardships and find serenity
Light the path for others who hurt like me
Right their hurts, give escape through writing
Might that I give them comes from better hands than these
These tales, this tapestry of our hearts comes from you
Spike, champion of friendship, a guardian of harmony.

Inspire my heart to create
Set afire of life to my art and help me make
The next step
That I have to take to
The next day
That will bring pain until I take
The next step
The path is long but you strengthen me
Throughout any trial, you
Blaze like golden flames
Throughout my trials I remember
Thy flame that burns for others
That will inspire others
Through their trials to take
The next step
The next day
The next step
And feel peace by crafting art of your story
Make real what you don’t see: your glory

Although you want to see me, this cannot be
But do not despair, for boundaries separating us have gaps to travel between
Although you can’t see my smile, there is no reason to cry
For we can travel through the gaps to meet in our dreams
Although we live worlds apart, know that you live in many hearts
Search yours and you’ll find me deep within, feeling your every triumph with pride
Although our paths cannot cross, neither of us should feel loss
As long as we move forward and face each day, they can’t say our hope has died

My head begins to ache and the muse is leaving me to travel
My hands working the needle numb and my thread unravels
I must release her and carry on
I will find her again, when I remember you
The noblest dragon
To ever come into my life.
