"Could you run that by us...ONE more time?", Ice asked. Shadow on the other hand, was less...calm in handling the matter.
"Burst, are you crazy?!", Shadow yelled. "Why would you even say that?!"
"Well if the Lancers are really going to defend the city, there might not be a need for us anymore.", Burst said with a sigh.
"NO!", Rainbow Dash screamed. "You can't do this to us! Not now! Not after all we've been through! I LOVE being a ranger! The armor, the zrods, everything! You can't take this away from me!" Rainbow Dash was tearing up.
"Rainbow. I didn't say we ALL had to stop being rangers. Only those that want to hang up their morphers. I don't know about the rest of you but..." Burst removed his morpher. "I'm going to get back to a normal life. Those of you who want to stay rangers, go ahead. You're my team. And I'd be an idiot if I didn't consider your interests. For me? This is it." Burst set his morpher on the box that their morphers had been originally contained in. "I'm going back to school." But before he could leave, Gold stopped him.
"Burst. I know they may be faster than us, and they seem to have things handled. But we're fighting for what's right. Not a paycheck.", Gold said sadly. "You're our leader. And you've done a pretty good job. Please Burst. Don't go."
"You're right. I WAS the leader. But I never asked for any of this to happen." Burst sighed. "But that doesn't mean I wish it never did. Like I said. Everyone's free to stay rangers or turn in their morphers. That's not for me to decide. You can take things from here Gold." Burst went to the warp pad, and teleported back to CHS. The other rangers were then left to contemplate their decision.
"I'm with Dash.", Steel said. "I'm staying a ranger."
"Ditto.", Rainbow Dash said with a nod for emphasis.
"In that case...", Ace said as he, Shadow, and Ice unstrapped their morphers. "We're calling it quits."
"Yeah. We had a good run, but I really wanna give Starlight more attention.", Shadow said.
"If the Lancers really got this thing handled, then I guess I've got more time to hang out with Zap.", Ice said with a shrug as he and his brothers headed for the warp pad and returned to school.
"I think I'm gonna stay a ranger.", Inferno said.
"I'd never let you carry on so lonely darling.", Rarity said with a small smile. "I'll stay with you too."
"I'll stay a ranger too.", Sunset said with a smile. "But I gotta admit. It won't be the same with most of the guys leaving."
"I'll be hanging up my morpher as well.", Moon said with a small smile. "I've already got plenty of magic and strength. So I really don't need my ranger powers. Plus, Celestia and I would like a bit more time with Burst."
"And I've got enough on my plate with paperwork.", Celestia said as she handed in her morpher and she and Moon headed to the warp pad to return to CHS.
"I just got my powers.", Veenus said. "I'd like to stay so I can get some training in to use them better."
Gold sighed. "I guess we're still a team. But the command center's never felt so empty." Sunset put her hand on Gold's shoulder.
"Yeah. I'll miss them being part of the team. But once a ranger, always a ranger. Right?"
"Yeah.", Gold said sadly. "But it doesn't make seeing them go any easier."
