//------------------------------// // You Can't Know // Story: The Spike Poem Anthology II // by Zephyr Spark //------------------------------// How does it feel to have a third eye when everyone else has two? Does everyone stare at the third eye? Do they trust the threeeye thing in a card game? Do they trust that eye to look at their children? How does it feel to have one leg when everyone else has four? Does the one leg look at four legs in jealousy? Do four legs recoil when they see one leg? Do they look at one leg and see a person? How does it feel to have scales when everyone else has fur? Do ponies keep their distance? Do they never completely trust scaly? Do they see scaly as a lesser creature, beneath them? Do they blame the entire scalies when one scaly does something bad? Do they say ponies like Sombra are just an exception to all ponies? How does it feel to be in power? Do police ever arrest you for looking suspicious? Do the majority say we are equal to them? Do they claim equality while shoving us in prison and letting their kind go free? Do they label everyone different from them? Do they treat us like monsters so often that we believe that’s what we are? Do they keep telling their children stories where we’re the bad guys? Do they make them see us and not see us? Do they keep us from their world? Do we even have a world for us? How does it feel to be friends with six pony heroes of Equestria? How does it feel to be the stepson of royalty? How does it feel to be spared from so much hate? How does it feel to have defenders? How does it feel to know I belong, even when I shouldn’t? How could I know how we feel? When I don’t even know what we feel?
