Twilight's Little Star

The Announcement of Little Star's Birth

Princess Celestia was busy going over the new bills that needed to be signed. She couldn't help but think about her once pupil's condition at the moment. She remembered about 11 months ago when Twilight gave the news that she was pregnant with an illegitimate foal. She and everypony were shocked that Twilight had slept with a stallion. She knew ponies were going to spread nasty rumors about her, which she despised. Twilight's family were the most shocked of them all, thinking she was a perfect angel before the situation happened. But Twilight wasn't perfect, just like everypony else. She made mistakes, and she would have to go through the consequence of doing this one.

All of a sudden, a scroll had appeared in the air, landing beside her. Celestia unrolled the scroll, reading what was written. What she read was not what she expected at all though. Princess Twilight had given birth 2 weeks early to a filly by the name of Little Star in the Ponyville Hospital. She hurried out of her room, running to her sister Luna's. She burst through the door, not bothering to even knock.

"What is the meaning of this Sister!" shouted Princess Luna in anger.

"Twilight had her foal!" exclaimed Celestia.

"What do you mean Twilight had her foal? I thought she wasn't due until a couple of weeks."

"Well, she had the filly early. Now get ready to leave, I shall send notice to her family right away. I also shall make sure her parents have a chariot to bring them to the hospital, so they can get there quicker."

Celestia stepped out of Luna's bedroom, rushing to her pet phoenix.

Celestia wrote two letters for both Twilight's parents and her brother and his family.

"Philomena, fly first to Nightlight and Twilight Velvet's residence and give them one of the letters, then go to the Crystal Empire and give Princess Cadence the other one," Celestia explained to her pet bird.

Philomena flew out of an open window, carrying the the two letters in her talons.

"Don't worry Twilight, we're coming."

Else where, Twilight Velvet was cooking a lasagna for herself and Nightlight for dinner. Nightlight had just come back from work thirty minutes ago, and he was famished.

"Honey, is dinner almost ready? I'm starving for one of your homemade meals!" exclaimed Nightlight in the living room that was right beside the kitchen.

"Hold your horses Nightlight, I'm not your servant," said Twilight Velvet.

"I know that, but work was too stressful and tiring today. I just need something to brighten up my disaster of a day."

"You really like my cooking that much, huh?"

"Well yeah, it's absolutely perfect."

"Oh, you flatterer you," she said to Nightlight blushing.

"Hey by the way, have you heard anything about Twilight and her pregnancy?" Nightlight asked her.

"Not recently, no. I do wish she'd have the foal already though. I can't wait to have another grandfoal!"

"Me neither, I sure hope the foal takes on some of my resemblence."

"And what about mine huh?"

"I mean I guess so, but it better look like me the most!"

Twilight Velvet rolled her eyes, while also chuckling at his comment.

"It's too bad she's having a foal in this way though. I really hoped for a son-in-law to father her child," stated Twilight Velvet.

"Yeah, that would've been nice, but it's in the past now. We just have to support her along the way for now on," Nightlight told her.

'Scratch, scratch'

"What's that?" asked Twilight Velvet.

"I think it's coming from the front door."

"Would you check it out hun? I'm busy with dinner."

"Sure thing."

Nightlight went to the front door, opening it to reveal a magnificent, fiery pheonix!

"What in Equestria!" shouted Nightlight in surprise and fear.

"What is it dear? You sound shocked."

"I-i-i-it's a pheonix! It's an actual pheonix!"

"Hahaha Nightlight. I'm not falling for one your tricks, now what is really?" she asked him.

"If you don't believe me, come and look for yourself!"

"Ugg, fine."

Twilight Velvet paused her cooking to see if Nightlight really was telling the truth. When she got there though, her mouth hung wide open.

"H-h-how is this even possible?" she asked Nightlight.

"I don't know. Usually pheonix's stay away from pony folk, to shy or something."

Twilight Velvet noticed something in the bird's talons.

"Hey, what is it holding right there?" Twilight Velvet asked.

"It looks like a couple of letters to me."

Philomena then decided to drop one of the letters at the ponys' hooves.

Nightlight picked it up, and read that it was from Princess Celestia and Princess Luna themselves on the envolope. It said that it was addressed to either the 'Light' residence or to Shining Armor and his family.

"Now why in Equestria would it be address to either families?" asked Twilight Velvet.

"Not sure about that one hun, let's just open it up and read what the Princesses wants of us."

Nightlight opened the envolpe, revealing a parchment of paper.

To Whom this May Concern,

'We are to bring astounding news from Twilight Sparkle. She has had her foal two weeks earlier than expected. The foal is a filly by the name of Little Star. Twilight has invited you to meet her newborn filly. We hope to see you at the Ponyville Hospital as soon as possible. The 'Lights' will have a chariot waiting outside their residence at seven P.M. sharp to bring them to the hospital. Thank you and have a wonderful day.'

~Princess Celestia and Princess Luna

"Twilight had her foal!?!" exlaimed her mother.

"It seems so."

"Well, well, um, I guess we should pack our things and head out."

"I agree, but let me send a notice to my boss through mail first, saying that I will be out to visit my new grandfoal and my daughter."

"Alright, but hurry. I'll save the prepared lasagna in the fridge. We'll just have to eat out somewhere on the way."

The couple managed to get everything done and ready right before the chariot had arrived, which was pulled by a couple of pegasi guards. They brought their luggage outside, then lifted them into the back of the chariot with their magic.

"Do you have your purse?" Nightlight asked his wife.

"Yes, do you have your wallet?" Twilight Velvet asked him back.

"Sure do."

"Great, then let us be off."

The pegasi guards ran for a head start, but then leapt into the air carrying the chariot with them. They had soon started flying into the open skys, watching the ponies down below them.

"I guess that Pheonix will stop by our son and his family's kingdom next. Now that I think about it, I think I rembered Celestia having a pet Pheonix. What was it's name again? Was it Phil? Philly? Philo Me Me maybe?" asked Nightlight.

"Oh Nightlight, I'm pretty sure her name was Philomena." answered Twilight Velvet.

"Oh yeah, that's right! That must've been Philomena then, huh?"

"I would say so honey."

Meanwhile at the Crystle Empire, Cadence, Shining Armor and Sunburst were trying to catch the rambunctious and flying foal, Flurry Heart.

"Flurry, get over here!" shouted the aggravated Cadence.

"Hehehe, mno!" Flurry Heart exclaimed.

"If you don't stop this young filly, I'll have no choice but to take away your favorite toy for the rest of the day!" Shining Armor proclaimed to his daughter.

Flurry Heart stopped immediately in midair after hearing those words come out of her father's mouth.

"Turn around Flurry, and come over here please," said Cadence.

"Awight mama," Flurry Heart said listening.

"My, Flurry sure is a hoof full," stated Sunburst.

"Hehe," she laughed towards her crystaller.

"Why, I think the silly filly is laughing at me."

'Snicker'

Sunburst headed over to Flurry Heart, who was by her parents now, still hovering a few feet above the ground. He stopped right by her, standing as still as a rock. Flurry Heart only looked at him in confusion, but that's when he decided to tickle her. She was now in a laughing fit, tears escaping her eyes from laughing so hard. Sunburst smirked at her in victory.

"That's what happens to you when you decide to laugh at your royal crystaller," he told her, while he also stopped tickling her.

"Well, now that she's willing to listen, it's time for her bath. Come on Flurry, you need to get squeaky clean for your play date with Scarlet Heart's foal colt," said her mother.

"Um, Cadence?" questioned Shining Armor.

"Yes hun?"

"I hope you are not trying to get the two foals to fall for each other, like last time. You know what happened when you tried to pair Flurry with another foal. It ended up into a total disaster for the two."

"Oh Shining I would never......." she said suspiciously sarcastic.

"Uh huh.. Anyways, If that EVER happens again, I will be in charge of the play dates, instead of you. I just can't chance such a terrible disaster occurring over and over again, just because you want our foal to be with another foal."

"Don't worry honey. You have absolutely nothing to worry about," Cadence told her husband. "Or do you..." she whispered to herself.

"What was that?"

"Oh nothing."

"Okay.."

"Alright Flurry, let's give you a bath. Do you want some pink bubbles? Or maybe purple? Wait, I got it! A rainbow of bubbles!" exclaimed Cadence to her daughter, who seemed much more excited about it than her.

"Awight mama."

While Cadence was busy giving Flurry Heart a bath, Shining decided to go outside for a stoll.

"What a wonderful day it is out here. Maybe the two foals would like to spend their play date out here for a little while."

Shining Armor looked up at the sky, watching the clouds moving so smoothly, but as he was doing so, he spotted what looked like a part of the sun coming down towards Equestria.

"What in Equestria is that?!?"

The flying object only came nearer and nearer, not slowing down the slightest bit. He was about to blast it with his magic, thinking that it was a meteor about to make compact on their empire. But that's when he noticed that the object looked as if it had wings of some sort.
Once the object became close enough to see what it was, he finally make out what it was. It was none other than a full grown, fiery pheonix!

"Now, why is a pheonix making its way towards here?"

"Caw!" exclaimed Philomena, landing gracefully upon a tree branch.

"Why, that's looks like Celestia's pet pheonix, Philomena."

He then spotted the letter in her talons, which she then immediately dropped onto the ground. He picked it up, opening the envelope. What he read though, was one of the most shocking news he's ever faced.

"My sister had her foal!?"

"Squaw!" Philomena shouted, as if she were answering yes.

"Um, thank you Philomena. You may leave if you wish."

At those words, she decided to fly back home to her owner.

"How am I going to explain this to Cadence?"
