The Spike Poem Anthology II

by Zephyr Spark

To a Grey Pegasus

When we see you trip, we don’t point and jeer.
You teach us to get back up and face each day with cheer.
When we see you mess up, we don’t facepalm and sigh.
You teach us that mistakes happen, no need to cry.
When we see you say hello to everyone, we don’t wonder why you’re polite.
You teach us that the future may be hard but in the end it will be bright.
When we see you fly, we don’t roll our eyes.
You teach us to try and reach for the skies.
When we see you eat your muffins, we don’t stare as the crumbs smudge your wings.
You teach us that to be happy we don’t need diamonds, just the little things.
When we see you smile, we don’t wonder what you could possibly smile about.
You teach us that you’re a light that Ponyville could not live without.
