Ratchet and Clank: The Starlight of Solana

Ratchet, Clank, Angela, and Qwark climbed into the small ship that would allow them to get back to the Hyperion, which was floating in the atmosphere above the planet they were on, though due to the shortage of seats Starlight decided to simply teleport herself to the ship so she could warn Sunset of who was coming back to the ship. There were a lot of possibilities flashing through her mind as she readied her magic, because she knew that her sister could either ignore Qwark or attack him if he said something stupid, so warning her was the best course of action. She waved a hoof at the smaller ship as everyone piled into it, to which she received a wave from Angela, before she blinked out of existence and teleported herself back to the Hyperion, or more accurately the bridge.

She took a few seconds to make sure that the spell had faded, and that nothing had happened to her, before she started searching for wherever her sister was hiding. Sure, the Hyperion was a large ship, but there was no telling where her sister would be waiting this time, as she either stayed in the Core Room, her personal workshop, or the bridge. The third option was already crossed out, as she hadn't seen Sunset when she teleported to the ship, so she was either with the Cores or she was working on something, though when she took into consideration that she intended on messing with the armor she had recovered she guessed that it was the workshop. Starlight immediately charted her course to the room where the Cores were being held, though when she reached it she went passed it and stopped two doors down... where she spotted Razor sleeping outside the room she wanted to enter.

The cat let out a yawn as it heard her coming, though it did open its eyes and stare at her as she approached it, but the moment she stood outside the door the cat decided to pick itself up and move to the side, allowing her to enter the workshop before it laid back on the floor again. Starlight stared at the door for a moment, wondering what Sunset would say once she heard that Qwark was back on the ship, before bringing her hoof to the door and tapped on it three times, which was swiftly followed by the door opening for her. She walked into the room and found that it was exactly like she remembered it, with the right wall covered in tools that Sunset used whenever she was in the mood to tinker with gadgets or armor, while the left wall had a bed for her to sleep in.

Sunset, of course, happened to be sitting at the desk that rested at the opposite side of the room... though as Starlight looked at her sister she noticed something different about her, she would suddenly feel her magical power again. As her eyes moved all over Sunset's body she spotted some key differences between her sister's current form and what she had been before suddenly becoming the God of Destruction. Despite the fact that she could actually feel Sunset's energy again, something she was grateful for, Starlight also knew that her own power, at its current level, was actually greater than what Sunset's was at the moment, almost as if she had figured out a way to seal her godly abilities. Sunset still looked like a cross between a humanoid and a unicorn, and was still wearing her godly attire, but for a moment Starlight was sure that she had spotted runes dancing on Sunset's arm for a moment, though a second later they had disappeared completely.

Though as she finished looking over her sister, and stopped trying to find any more differences, Starlight noted that Sunset was working on a new sword of some kind... though there also happened to be a platter of food sitting near her, which pleased Starlight to no end to see her sister actually eating something again.

"I see you managed to find a way to power down at last," Starlight commented, causing Sunset to look up from the desk, "How long have you been working on that?"

"I've been searching for a way to bind my power ever since I ascended to my godly status," Sunset replied, though she pulled out some apple slices from the platter and devoured them, though she also noticed that Starlight was helping herself to a whole apple, "I've grown to accept that I'm now the God of Destruction, just like Lord Beerus, but I find that being that powerful all the time makes my life incredibly boring... so I found a way to bind my abilities and reverted to what you are feeling now."

"And your new weapon?" Starlight inquired, beckoning to the sword with her hoof before tearing into her apple for a moment, "I'm guessing that you've been thinking about this since we left Dreadzone?"

"No, I've been working on this for a long time," Sunset answered, her eyes shifting to the weapon that was resting on the table, "After the events on Yeedil, where I lost my sword due to the massive cataclysm that shook the planet, I started designing the perfect weapon to reflect who I was and what I was becoming. I took my time in designing this weapon of course, considering that I was recovering from my ordeal and that we were having to deal with another villain a few months after that. And I didn't exactly have the time to work on it during our fight with Nefarious, not when Qwark was constantly pissing me off and tried to burn all of Solana with Searing's powers. Now, however, the weapon is complete, so I should be able to take it into battle soon."

Starlight appeared to want to say something, but then decided that it likely wasn't best to say anything... only Sunset noticed and let out a sigh as she turned to her sister.

"Qwark's back on the ship, isn't he?" Sunset asked, knowing that the one thing that would give her sister pause was the man that was the cause of all her headaches.

"Yes, and he wants in on bringing down the villain that we are currently tracking down," Starlight replied, though she could have sworn that she heard the cat outside the down growl for a moment, "Apparently the leader of the Technomites believes that he can fool Qwark into believing that he is the oaf's father, though Qwark's already figured out that all is not as it appears. He wants to help plan our final assault on our enemy... which will be right after we deal with the robotic little girl he was using to bait us into starting this entire adventure."

"Well then, it seems that we'll be busy for some time," Sunset said, pulling herself from her chair and walking over to where Starlight was, though she also collected her platter so the food didn't spoil, "This should be interesting."

Starlight and the others spent the entire flight going over their plan for when they reached the location that the leader of the Technomites was hiding at, though they all knew the area would turn into a war zone the moment they engaged their enemy's forces. While they talked Qwark indicated that he had done a little bit of research and reconnaissance on the location in question, the Planet know as Quodrona, to which he mentioned that he had spotted a factory of some sort on the planet. He didn't have much more to tell them, other than the factory's existence, so Starlight suggested that he go through with meeting the leader of the Technomites, though not before she outfitted his belt with some special gadgets that would map out the entire factory, discover where the weakest locations were, and also discover what the villain's plan really was with a listening device.

She wanted to be sure that they had all of the information they needed before they launched their assault on Quodrona, though once Qwark was outfitted he was sent on his way, which made Sunset happy. Once the man was gone Ratchet and the others gathered their gear and met back up at the smaller ship, which they used to fly down to the moon that the robotic girl had flown to. They landed in what appeared to be some sort of farming community, though they kept their eyes open for anything that was out of the ordinary.

"So, this is where the robot known as Luna has decided to make her last stand," Sunset commented, looking around the area for a moment before frowning, though Razor growled for a moment, "I expected her to choose a fortress or something similar... not a farming community."

"She must have had a reason for coming to this place," Starlight said, though she and Ratchet purchased the new Shock Rocket weapon while she spoke, "Come on, let's see what this moon has in store for us."

The first platform they came to didn't seem to have any enemies that wanted them dead, only two farmer robots and seven robotic sheep, though the lights dimmed for a moment, casting a shadow over the ground, to which the sheep morphed into black killer sheep that wanted to bite their heads off. Ratchet and Starlight used their weapons on the mutated robot sheep, choosing to save the new weapon for a stronger opponent, while Angela used her lightsaber to cut through the enemies that came after her. Sunset, on the other hand, merely stepped back for a moment and let Razor tear into the sheep that came after her, deciding not to draw her new weapon at all, though once the sheep had been dealt with they moved onward.

They found a lone security robot standing outside the opening to something, though the moment it spotted them coming its way it immediately opened fire, causing them to separate for a moment. It didn't take them long to tear apart the security robot, not with Angela's lightsaber and the weapons that Ratchet and Starlight were carrying, though they did stop in front of the opening that the robot had been standing outside of. There they discovered more of the mutated sheep walking around the area in front of them, to which they charged into the room and loosed their various weapons on their enemies, though after a few minutes it was clear that they were the victors when all of the mutated sheep had been dealt with.

Once their enemies had been taken care of Ratchet, upon spotting two small pieces of soil in front of them, turned around and headed back to the opening they had entered through, to which he pulled out the Sprout-o-Matic and watered one of the mimic plants that happened to be hanging outside. Once the plant was active he led it through the small building they had cleared out and planted it inside the soil that was the closest to the rock wall, to which it grew into a large flower that appeared to be a spring for them to jump on. With the first one in place he returned to the second mimic plant and repeated the process, creating a two stop jumping station they could use to get to the top off the wall that was blocking their path.

The moment the plants were in place Ratchet jumped on them until he reached the top of the rock wall, to which Angela, Starlight, and Sunset followed him, though Sunset did have to use some of her magic to levitate Razor up to them. Originally he had been somewhat concerned when he noticed that Sunset had changed again, though he was happy that she had found a way to bind her new powers so she could join them on their adventures once more. Once they were all up on the top o the wall they rounded the corner and spotted the robotic Luna standing beside some controls, to which she pulled the levers and unleashed another group of seven mutated sheep, though she ended up running the moment the door was open.

"She really likes her sheep, doesn't she?" Angela asked, carving one of the mutated robot sheep into a pile of pieces, "At least these things are easy to fight."

"I would say the same thing," Starlight commented, blasting one of her enemies to pieces, while Ratchet and Sunset fought beside her and Angela, "though I am willing to bet that there is more to this place... more that we haven't seen yet."

Ratchet and Sunset both agreed that there was more they had yet to see, though they chose to focus on their enemies and didn't say a single word until the group of mutated sheep had been dealt with. Once the sheep had been taken care of, and they were sure that there weren't any more in the surrounding area, they walked though the door that Luna had passed through and found another locked door blocking their path. This time the solution to their problem was easy, as all they had to do was eliminate the security robot that was standing on a nearby walkway, where it was firing missiles at them. Sunset had her sister summon a shield to protect them for a moment, to which she teleported over to where their enemy was located and used her new weapon to cut the robot into two halves.

With the deed done the door in front of them lowered, allowing them to move forward once more, though that was followed by Starlight turning her shield off while Sunset teleported back to where he others were standing. The area the group walked into next was, once again, patrolled by a group of seven mutated robotic sheep, causing everyone to wonder why they weren't seeing more variety among their enemies this time around. This time Sunset merely tapped Razor's back and took a step backwards, to which the cat leapt into the area and started hunting down the sheep that were in the way, almost like it was back on its home planet for a moment.

Once all of the mutated sheep had been dealt with, and Razor was sure that the area was clear, the cat purred happily as it returned to Sunset's side, allowing Ratchet to move into the area and use the Sprout-o-Matic on a mimic plant that created the type of plant that threw people to their destination. Instead of using the plant Ratchet had Starlight summoned a walkway for them to use to get to the jump pad like flower on the platform in front of them, where he and Clank used it so they could glide over to the next platform and its flower. Starlight and the others, not possessing something like Clank, used Starlight's walkway to get them to the silo that Ratchet happened to be heading towards, though they could all tell that the guards weren't happy to see them.

Seeing how there were only two security robots waiting for them, and nothing else anywhere, it was rather easy for the group to separate into two smaller groups and take out their enemies, to which they regrouped on the opposite side of the building. There they found two places where they could grow some mimic plants, as well as a locked door on the opposite side of the silo, to which Ratchet shrunk down and slipped into the lock to override it. Once he was back outside, and the door was open, he entered the silo and stared up at the top, finding that there wasn't anything inside the thing at all, to which his switched gadgets and started moving the mimic plants into position. It didn't take him very long to get the two plants in place, and create two jump pads for them to use, nor did it take them long to get up on top of the rock wall that had been in their way.

There they found yet another helmet sitting on the ground, though their scanners indicated that this was supposed to be a part of the Mega-Bomb armor set.

"As much as I like getting new armor to protect myself, and I like it a lot, I cannot help but feel that we've found too much at this point," Ratchet commented, slipping the new helmet into his pack as the group moved forward, "I mean, I've got one complete set of armor and three, if not four, incomplete sets. This is kind of insane."

"Well, it just gives us more items to study once this adventure is over," Starlight said, though she kept her weapon and magic at the ready, just in case something they weren't expecting happened.

The building they ended up walking through happened to be another one that Luna was waiting at the end of, because she flipped the switch and activated the cutting blades on both sides of the walls before making her escape yet again. This was barely a challenge for the group, as all Starlight had to do was summon a barrier around them and they all walked forward, to which the blades shattered upon meeting her magical shield. At the end of the building they spotted a weapon vendor, which meant that there was likely going to be a fight of some kind coming up, though Ratchet and Starlight prepared their weapons while Sunset, Angela, and Razor watched for any enemies that might attack them while they were distracted.

Once all of their weapons were restocked they walked out into the open area that was in front of them, though that was before they all spotted a plane coming in and firing upon their location, to which they jumped down into the corn field ahead of them and started running. Sunset inquired why Ratchet didn't want her or Starlight to blow the plane to pieces, though he said that he believed that their target was aboard the ship, which is why he hadn't asked them to destroy it yet. With that in mind they moved through the corn field, dodging the plane's shells as it tried to gun them down, though eventually it decided to give up on that method and converted itself to a machine that destroyed both the corn and any rocks that got caught up in its teeth.

After another minute or two of that method the group reached the end of the field, to which they jumped off the edge and moved down to the platform that happened to be sitting there, though Starlight levitated herself and Angela down, while Ratchet glided onto the platform and Sunset made sure that she and Razor landed okay. The moment they were all back together again the plane turned to the rock wall above them an blew a hole in it, allowing the chunks to rain down on the platform, though none of them ever reached their target as Sunset blew all of them up before they could even get near her or her family.

The instant it became clear that the rocks weren't doing the job, and that they were still alive, Luna brought the ship to the platform and decided that taunting them was the best course of action.

"So, the courageous superheroes finally catch the little girl," Luna commented, looking at the entire group for a moment, though that was before her eyes turned red, "We knew that you would fall into our trap. None of you can resist playing the hero... save for you, Sunset Shimmer, you seem to enjoy it with the amount of people who suffer after you leave a planet. Originally we had planned on taking you all down and using all of your DNA to create an army of soldiers that the universe would never see coming, but then two of you decided to stay on your ship and we had to resort to settling for Ratchet. Its a shame that couldn't actually get your DNA before your sister showed up and ruined everything, but we will make due with the camera that have been following your every move."

"Been there, done that," Angela said, causing the robotic girl to pause for a moment, which was what she was actually hoping would happen when she spoke up.

"And what's that supposed to mean?" Luna asked, as it was plainly clear that she had no idea what Angela was even talking about , though she did seem a bit interested in it anyway.

"The whole clone army thing," Angela replied, though she could tell that he friends knew exactly what she was talking about, "Qwark tried the same thing when he was in control of Megacorp, though he ended up failing miserably. You have two options, either surrender peacefully... or we'll just have to beat you up."

In response Luna prepared the ship she was in for a fight, though that was before Starlight snatched her from her seat with her magic and slammed her into the platform, apparently breaking something as Luna ceased to function as a piece of her metallic skull opened. Sunset, on the other hand, grabbed the now ship with her magic and sent it hurling down towards the water around them, though she smiled once she heard the explosion. Clank and Angela seemed impressed by the inner workings of the robotic girl, what they could see anyway, and they knew that they could gleam some information if someone went inside the robot.

"We should take her back to the Hyperion and see if she has any valuable information," Clank commented, though he almost smiled as he watched Starlight pull the Technomites out of the robot.

"Good idea, and we can see if she's got the coordinates for her boss' main base," Ratchet said, just as everyone headed to the nearby teleportation pad, which was once again conveniently placed at the end of their path.

Sunset and Starlight smiled as they traveled back to their smaller ship and eventually left this moon behind, because they were one step closer to bringing an end to this entire adventure... where they would have brought an end to a deranged villain's plan of loosing an army of clones upon the universe. Then they could get back to their vacation and the rest they deserved... until the next villain decided to show up and annoy them all over again.
