The Spike Poem Anthology II

by Zephyr Spark

Keep Moving

You stretch your body idly amidst a field of golden daisies
The scent wafts in your nose. Your eyelids droop. You could stay here.
Away from life and her pains.
Away from the sticks that crack
Away the rocks that smash
The words that scar stay away
Those you love.

You trudge away
back into the tunnel
where you belong
In life, with your friends.
