Alt Path: Never Surrender!

--------During the Battle at Dodge Junction--------

Kami was looking down upon Luna. From what he gathered she was the co-ruler, her sister being the other half. He already met Celestia, or at least saw her. He saw the same kind of passion to protect that he possessed. The only difference between them was who they would protect.

Right now he was giving Luna a test of sorts. She has been given the choice the retreat with everyone still alive and well, or to continue fighting against his army. This would show him just how much she really cared for her ponies as well as her sense in commanding troops.

When she gave him a glare he already knew the answer he would get, but asked anyhow.

"YOU CAME TO A CONCLUSION?"

She gave a nod. "I know that many ponies have been wounded as it is, but they continue for the reason that I will. To defeat the enemy and rescue the ponies under your rule! For that I cannot turn my back on their quest for victory!" She gave off a small aura of power. For all her talk she seemed unsure of herself.

If Kami had a head he would be shaking it. Rather then say anything he let the world continue.

In a sudden burst of sound the song continued.

The Patapon switched the defense, ready for an attack that would come their way. At the same moment the Patapon Trifecta of Ton, Kin, and Chin arrived. They were in their Cannassault, Pingrek, and Tondenga forms respectively. Instantly matching the formation of the others. Ton and Chin moved to the front while Kin stayed in the back. Just as they went to their position he gave the command.

PON PON CHAKA CHAKA!

They gave a squat, getting ready to go for another all out attack. It seemed the same could be said about the opposition. He could hear the ponies. see them get ready to retort. He would of let it go, but he saw something that made him think otherwise. Luna was charging magic into her horn, the color it gave off was dark and threatened to engulf the light around it. With a quick change of mind he gave another order.

DON DON CHAKA CHAKA!

Reacting as quickly as the order was given, the entire Patapon army took to the skies, the beam going under them. Many flailed their legs below them in an attempt to stay in the air for as long as possible. When they landed it was shocking just how powerful the attack was. Several of the trees were down, the earth had been ripped by the force. Everything that had been touched was giving off a sort of shadowy flame. It was also obvious that it took an IMMENSE amount of energy. Though if it affected Luna, she wasn't showing it.

This made a few of the Patapon hesitate, Kami could sense it. As much as he didn't want to, he knew that he had to end this battle quickly. With this in mind he gave his next order.

DON DON DON DON DON!

To the ponies not a moment passed before the song ended, but to Kami and the Patapons a ceremonial dance began. To infuse his army with power Kami began to follow after the Hatapon for the 'Shock 'n' Awe Juju'.

"Pon Pon Pata Pon!"

PON PON PATA PON!

"PonPonPon!"

PONPONPON!

"PataPataPon!"

PATAPATAPON!

"Pon Pon!"

PON PON!

"Pata Pon!"

PATA PON!

"Pon Pon Pata Pon!"

PON PON PATA PON!

"Pon Pon PataPataPon!"

PON PON PATAPATAPON!

"PonPataPonPonPataPataPon!:

PONPATAPONPONPATAPATAPON!

Hatapon gave a cheer at the accuracy of the drum. Hatapon raised it's flag as high as it could. When the flag was as it's peak the symbol of a lightning bolt was in place of the eye. The rest of the army could feel the affects, they were bolstered to frightening strength. The only thing was, now the song was back the the beginning! Only one beat passed before the next order was given.

PON PON PATA PON!

The lack of an earthquake caught many off guard. The Patapon came at a much slower pace. They were still running, but it seemed more like a leisurely jog. This didn't mean the arrows slowed down.

Just as suddenly as before, magic and arrows rained from the sky. The Unicorns were prepared for this. Working together, and with new found vigor, they created a barrier to protect them from harm. The strikes were rough, but they managed to keep them from breaking through.

The earth ponies went forward to try and kick the melee attacker back, and while some hit their marks and sent Robopons back into the ranks of the other Patapon, those who missed or were caught off guard suffered from the punches of the massive fists. The force was enough to turn it's victims into projectiles.

No one was fast enough to even get close the the Cannassault. Not a moment after the order was given did the Cannassault begin to move, they were much faster than everyone else and ready to give it all they had. When the barrier was put in it's path it raised the massive ax and with a swift CRASH smashed it to pieces, and sending the unicorns keeping it up sprawling on the floor.

When the shield went down a beam of white followed freezing anyone caught in it, encasing them in solid ice. The goliath that was the Tondenga slowly made it's way to the now frozen ponies, ready to shatter them to pieces. Before it could be done Luna came in and crated her own shield and other ponies took the iced ponies away. The blow the shield received would of been more then enough to punch through steel. Only when her magic began to crack did Luna find this out.

Now she started to have second thoughts about her decision. The look on her face said it all, and Kami knew that it was only a matter of time before the sheer power of his Patapons overwhelmed their forces. Not wanting this to last longer than necessary he gave the next order.

PON PON PATA PON!

Another cloud of projectiles sprang from the ranged units only this time each one hit their mark. With no shields left, and the targets too weary to run, the ponies left in the open were quickly turned into corpses. The arrows had the power to pierce the armor the ponies wore, making any shot to the head a fatal one. In almost no time at all the amount of casualties spiked.

Luna was unable to do anything about this, at the moment she was trying to keep the Tondenga from crushing every bone in her body as another strike went against her shield. It was clear that it would shatter at any moment.

As she was busy with the Tondenga another blast of white magic froze several ponies that were distracted by the sight of their comrades being punctured. Once turned to solid ice the Cannassault rushed up to finish the job, destroying the frozen ponies and reducing them to slush and blood.

It was at this point that the remaining ponies began to feel sick, no used to seeing violence of this level. Most if not all the remaining ponies tried to hide behind the remains of the wall. This gave them little safety, however, as the Robopons made their way over and all at once gave a punch that splintered the will with ease. Given few options the still able ponies took to fighting as best as they could manage.

As Kami saw all this happen he knew that he won, it was a shame that he had to kill them in such a way to show that he was not to be challenged. Still, he wouldn't let anyone underestimate him or his tribe. His test for Luna was over, she failed but only slightly. She had the passion, just not the commander's instinct. She believed she could take him on, and for that she would be shown the error of her ways. The next order was given.

PON PON PATA PON!

The order spelled the end for the ponies. The shadow of projectiles flew for the exposed ponies as the Robopons gave punches that broke bones and metal alike sending both through the air.

The wave of ice hit only a few ponies this time, but resulted in the same sound of breaking ice. The battlefield was now littered with bodies of the fallen ponies.

Luna was now the last pony standing, the shield about to be broken and her magic used up. Kami didn't know what she though in her last moments, if he had to guess though it would have to be the same thing he felt when he lost a battle: Shame. The shame going up against someone with so little thought, just the idea of never being beaten before. He knew that there was always a first for something, but it seemed this wasn't a first for Luna. It would, however, be her last.

With a resounding CRACK the princess of the moon fell the the floor, her head bleeding immensely. It seemed the shield absorbed enough of the blow to prevent her skull for being caved it. It didn't protect her from the blunt trauma that followed. Her brain was violently shaken and her skull was cracked. She was dead before she hit the floor.

With Luna down the few remaining ponies lost hope and surrendered. It didn't fall on deft ears, as the Patapon were given no further orders. The ponies began to pick up anyone that was still in one piece for a burial. Luna was carefully lifted by several solders with more than a few tears being shed.

Once they gathered everyone they could carry they began to move out. They went slowly, most wounded by the battle. Eventually they were out of sight. The Patapon didn't know how to feel, on the one hand they had another victory, on the other they were forced to kill the same kind of ponies that welcomed them into this strange world.

Kami could feel the same kind of affliction with his emotions. He knew that if his tribe felt it they would begin to get soft, so with one more hit of his drums he gave the command.

PATA PON DON CHAKA!

"Pata Pon Don Chaka!" The Patapon chanted. They started to dance and look on the other side of things. The fact that the ponies are the ones that attacked them reminded them that they had truly achieved a victory this day. They felt as though they made a step towards the end of this war, and the finding of IT.

As the day ended it seemed the Patapon were never going to stop with their march to victory, and Equestria would be in for a similar fate as Dodge Junction.
