Twilight kept thinking what happened that day. Why had she dreamt of Sombra and that volcano. Now that was weird. As she thought of this she was walking to the library she doesn’t use often. The one full of books on unknown mysteries that have no explanation or if they do a very unlikely one. She doesn’t like to use this library as it includes no facts what so ever. Her other libraries have no books on the subject of dark magic.
Spike is the only one who knows that she performed dark magic that day. She needs him to know so he can help with her research. Spike met her in the “mystery” library, as she called it.
“Hey, Twilight.” Spike was on a ladder at least fifty feet tall at the top of the library.
“Hey Spike. Have you found anything yet?” Twilight called back to her assistant.
“Yea, it’s on the table. I just finished looking through the library. That book on the table was the only book her on dark magic and its incomplete.” Twilight levitated Spike down so he didn’t fall off the ladder again. She opened the book and read the book:
Dark magic is a very fickle thing. Through my research it seems that dark magic has an effect on the user’s mind. There have been reports that the users have seen things that they have never thought of before or they were fears. The first step of being consumed by dark magic is Hallucinations. The user hallucinates these scary scenarios. The second step is Bad thoughts. The user then has these thoughts that they think are their own. These thoughts tell them to steal, kidnap, or kill. The third and final step is...
“No! No!... That can’t be it. It can’t just….. End. I need to know what the third step is, and if there are more than three.” Twilight flipping the page and turning the book over. She is trying to find the last word but can’t. In her head she goes through what it could be and comes up with nothing that sounds like it could work.
“Twilight calm down.” Spike tried to stop Twilight before she gets outraged.
“The book can’t end there. What is going to happen to me?” Twilight was starting to cry. Her tears matted down her fur. She curled up as hundreds of thoughts flowed through her brain. Spike hugged her to comfort her.
This was a Mistake.Twilight was thinking over and over. This was a mistake. This was a mistake. This wasn’t a mistake...
Twilight’s thoughts were a rampant hurricane. I want more than what I have. I may be a princess but the throne of Equestria would be even better than the princess of friendship. Twilight was thinking stuff she didn’t want to think. This wasn’t her. This is the second stage of the dark magic taking over one's mind. She had to get a hold of her thoughts before she actually did what they said.
“Spike… This may be hard on you but…” She got a splitting headache that hurt so bad. The thoughts were getting harder to handle. ”You….need….to lock….me up.” Twilight gasp. The air was being sucked right out of her. Her body started have these violent convulsions.
“Twilight, What’s happening?” Twilight was on the floor writhing around and giving a banshee like scream.
“Spike…”She wheezes .“lock... me in... the magic... proof dungeons... Now... And no matter what…” She let out another horrifying scream. “I say... do not... let me out.”
Spike took her and did as she said. It hurt him to know she was in pain. He wanted to help her. He hated to feel useless.
He brought her down to the dungeon like she asked and placed her in a cell. Locked the cell and he took the key with him. Her screaming could be heard through the dungeon.
Spike decided he should tell the other elements, Celestia, Shining Armour and Cadance. Spike sent out letters to everyone for them to come urgently.
Spike waited for them in his seat. Rainbow Dash got there first.
“Hey spike wheres Twi and why did you call for us?” Rainbow got there first and started just asking different questions.
“All questions will be answered when all 8 of us are here.” Slowly everyone got here, Celestia, and then Shining Armor and Cadence were last.
“Now this is my first time doing an announcement but I am the only one that knows.” He looked around the table and then spoke again. “Twilight is not here because she is in her own dungeon by her own orders. Before you run off to see her. You need to know what she has been doing.” He paused to see everyone’s expressions. Rainbow Dash looked like she wanted to see Twilight real badly. “Her curious mind has gotten her into some trouble. Some of the worst trouble I have ever seen. She has been experimenting with…” Spike took a big gulp of air as he was nervous. “With dark magic.” This got him gasps from everyone except Celestia.
“Is she crazy!!!!” Shining Armor ran down to the dungeon. He poked his head back in and asked. “Uhhh, where’s the dungeon.”
“Just follow me everypony.” Spike led them down the twisting corridors to the stairs into the dungeon. “Watch your step everypony. Uhhh, Celestia. You have been quiet about the matter, is there a reason why?” Spike asked.
“I already knew. I had sensed it. I wanted to see how she would handle it. Not very well it would seem.” Celestia glared into the cell as they arrived. “Ohh, my dear student. What has happened to you?” Twilight glared out in this deathly menacing way. She sat in a dark corner of the cell. Her mane was messed up in an insane sort of way. The person who was most freaked out was Rainbow.
Rainbow went right up to the bars and started almost crying. She kept talking to twilight asking if she is ok and other questions. Rainbow was reaching into the cell to touch twilight. “Get her out of there!!!” Rainbow yelled at spike. Tears threatening to spill.
“I would if I could but this was her orders for me.” I will hold this order like it's the last one she ever gives me. I can’t Rainbow.” Rainbow then Spun around spike so fast, spike didn’t see her grab the key. Rainbow then unlocked the cell and flew in to hug Twilight.
Before Rainbow could reach Twilight, she froze. Twilight ended up using magic so she wasn’t tackled. “Ohhh, you are so gullible and cute I do have to admit, but Twilight Sparkle is gone. Let’s see here, call me… Midnight Sparkles. Yea, that sounds great.” She started to laugh maniacally. She let Rainbow go and walked out of the cell. Celestia went to contain her. Twilight put up a barrier around her and walked out of the dungeon unharmed.
