1948 Normandy France, a convoy headed to the front.
“Hey anyone know when we will be at the staging area?” A soldier asked drawing Jack's attention.
“Jack you have the map, so how long?” A second soldier asked.
“pipe down let me check.” Jack said as he grabs a map and unfolds it “Hmmm we are about 100 miles to the are staging area for the artillery can be set up.” Jack then closed the map up and puts it away.
“You know if the Russians hadn't lost this war may have been over.” a blonde haired soldier said.
“yeah they were able to push them back a little till they lost the battle of stalingrad. Not many russians were able to get out of Russia before it fell.” Jack said looking out of the side of the halftrack they were in.
“Intelligence said the defensive line is called the siegfried line and the Germans have been upgrading the bunkers along it.” A old veteran with a long scar up his hand said.
They talked as the halftrack drove along. By the time the halftrack got to the staging area it was around noon and they needed to hurry if they were to still be ready for the dusk artillery attack. Jack was the first out of the halftrack. He looked around, it was clear and sunny. The area already had stuff set up which was left over from the previous attempts which had failed. Everyone got to work setting up artillery, tents, maintenance areas for tanks as more and more arrived every minute, and fox holes in case of a counter attack.
By 7 o’clock there was over 4,000 men, 50 artillery pieces, and 200 tanks of different types just in this staging area, there were around ten to twelve staging areas in total. Dark clouds had moved in which would be perfect as it would hide the smoke caused by the firing of the artillery.
Halftracks were moving artillery into place to speed up the process of setting up for the artillery attack. As a storm drew closer they faster they had to set up before it rains, otherwise it would be near to impossible to moving things.
After some time passed they had everything set up in the mini base. Jack and most of the troops, get some shut eye to be rested for the assault. The storm had also reached the base making the ground muddy, and the occasional lightning strike made some of the men jumpy.
When morning came it was still raining. As the allied troops prepared for the assault, the sound of artillery firing filled the air.
“Come on men it is time to move out. Infantry and halftracks stay behind the tanks.” Jack said to the troop as they do as he said and tanks line up with the halftracks and infantry behind them.
“Ok our Super Pershings will be up front, with the M4 Crocodile Sherman following, and the flanks will be defended by Easy 8s, along with other tanks.” Jack commanded using a loudspeaker.
“Hey maybe if you yell louder the Germans will hear you!” A soldier who was loading up into a halftrack yelled.
Jack laughed at the comment. He was cut short however as someone yelled out, “WHAT THE HELL!” Jack turned just in time to see a large purple mist rolling towards them.
The first who were engulfed, instantly dropped. Jack turned to run like most of the men but soon fell victim. He tried to hold his breath but his vision went black and his body went numb.
A few unlucky P-51 mustangs that were flying low were also engulfed by the purple mist and fell from the sky crashing into the ground. When the mist passed all the allied vehicles were gone.

A purple mist cover a large open area near ponyville in the Everfree Forest. Unicorns for hundreds of miles could feel their magic weaken. The feeling lasted a hour, drawing the attention of the royal guard.
The royal guard had locked down Ponyville to protect Princess Twilight. A little after the mist had disappeared a team was sent into the Everfree to find the source of the magical mist. After searching for anything they had seen some smoke in the darkening sky and followed it to a clearing where they found.
Large metal boxes that were painted green and had white stars on the sides of them. There were also weird bipedal creatures with no coat or tails in them and around them. This surprised the team that was sent to search the everfree and they quickly sent two ponies to report back the commanding officer in Ponyville.

Jack was trying to figure out where they were, and how they got there. He also had to organize the troops that were here and wake up 4 P-51 mustang pilots that were lying next to their planes.
Jack was barking orders to his soldiers to set up a base and make a perimeter around the clearing they were in. As jack did that a medic reported to him saying the 4 pilots woke up and were ok.
“damn where are we anyways, nothing here looks like germany.” Jack said smoking a sagr.
Jack seen movement in some bushes with color in them that doesn’t belong. “I need some men to go scout out in that direction.” Jack said pointing to the bush he saw the movement. A Pershing and 10 men headed over scout out the area jack pointed to.

Some creatures were moving towards the guards and wanting to avoid convection them fell back into the forest then headed back to Ponyville. Celestia was sitting at a large meeting table in Twilight's castle talking with her former student about the event that had just transpired. “Maybe they are peaceful and mean no harm.” Twilight said.
Celestia responded with, “Yes but we have no information about them and there is a group of them in the old castle. Both groups have different flags and I worry they are going to fight and they have guns that seem to be way more advanced than what we have.”
“Celestia then you go to the ones in the forest and me and my friends will go to the ones in the castle.” Twilight said with a smile.
Celestia sighed and put her hand on the table and said, “I guess we can do that just don't get hurt please.”
Twilight nodded then walked out of the room and a guard came in, “Did it go ok?” The guard said.
“Ya it did. Go get Five of your best and meet me by the edge of the Everfree. We are going to meet these creatures.” Celestia said and the guard nodded and rushed off. Questions swam through Celestia’s head like, are they truly friendly, who and what are they and where did they come from all things she was determined to find out when they met.
