//------------------------------// // Epilogue // Story: Eve of the Doctor // by Silver Inkwell //------------------------------// Epilogue “And that was how I met the Doctor, and if you want to know more about our adventures or who I may have met or what I saw, well I think that will have to wait until another day, because I don’t really wish to say anymore right now.” “Well, alright, fine then, but should you ever wish to talk I am always right here for you,” Chris said smiling. “Thanks a lot, and I already know that,” Eve said also smiling too now then, “But please go away now, I wish and need to think.” “Alright, fine then, as you wish,” Chris said taking a very dramatic bow and leaving her all alone to think now. And as she did she sighed some more. Sometimes she just wished and wanted to forget him so that way she didn’t have to feel the pain of missing him but she knew that what she felt now was probably for the better of her knowledge and understanding, besides, if she did try to fix time it would probably cause a paradox, and that would be a very bad thing, and as she thought of that she smiled. Oh time, what a very confusing wibbly wobbly thing, it was something that no pony ever quite fully knew, yet the Doctor, he knew more than most, and that’s what made him very special to her, and that was one of the reasons that she would always like him too. Because she knew that no matter what happened or where and when he was, he would always come back to keep his promise to her no matter what happened to him, and he would quite literally travel across the whole entire world and expanse of time just to do so. And that was why he was the best pony she had ever met, he was the bravest, most loyal, most generous, kindest, nicest, and also most honest pony that she had ever known in her whole entire life. Yet he still had his flaws and adorable silly little quirks too as well. And that was why she missed him, because they could relate so much now. She felt alone even in her own family, and also cut off from the whole entire world, and he was quite literally cut off from the whole entire world for many reasons, one was that he was nearly immortal, another was the whole time traveling and manipulation thing, and yet another was still the fact that he had saved many worlds countless times, and yet no one still knew who he was. They didn’t know who saved them, they didn’t even know his fake name and title, and not one companion of his ever knew his real true name either. He quite literally was a pony with no name and also no face too as well. But that was his life, and he had to do it for the safety and protection of all. He took no glory, took no pride in completing any of his work except for perhaps the Tardis maybe, and he always remained in the darkness and shadows of both time and memory gently guiding it along the correct right course now then, and also making sure that nothing ever went wrong as well. It was a very lonely life and a very tiring job, yet one that he still had to do. And Eve respected that, but she liked the pony who did it even more so. But as she stared out the window she knew that today would not be the day, it never was, but she had to keep hope alive by staring out of it at least once a day, and so she took a very deep heavy sigh and then left her spot. And then she went around doing her regular ordinary chores and tasks. But little did she know that the Doctor had watched her from afar and he had made sure to always stay hidden since he did not want to tell her just yet. But very soon enough he would, because it was very important. And with that he left and life went on very normally now for Eve since there was no Doctor to distract her, and that’s just the way how things went then.
