"...what? how does this even...? Huh?" She decided she would buy the box and its contents to show her friends. Who knew, it might even make an interesting conversation piece, or prove useful in yet another wacky science experiment. She had come across the box at a strange bazaar that had recently opened in the shopping district."Wonders from the World Over" the sign had proclaimed, and sure enough, most of the objects had left Twilight wondering what they were, let alone what they might possibly function as. The particular box she had her eye on was long, but not too tall, and not too wide. It had an unfamiliar logo on it, that she could only descrbe as a shutter opening. The text underneath the logo had long worn off, and in fact the only readable text on the box simply read, "ASHPD". Twilight didn't have a clue what it meant, but she only was concerned about what was in the box, not on it. She brought back the box to her library tree house and set it down on the table. Spike entered. "Hey Twilight! What's that?" Spike grabbed for the box, but Twilight snatched it away with her magic. "Now, careful Spike! This cost me 100 bits, I don't want you breaking it before i can get a good look at it." "You paid 100 bits for a box?" Spike scratched his head. "Not for the box, what's inside it," Twilight rolled her eyes. "Ohh, right, hehe. Of course," Twilight opened the box and removed the strange object within. "What is it?" Spike asked. "I'm not sure," Twilight replied, turning the removed object with magic and looking at it more closely. The object had a sort of eggish shaped white thing on one side, with a small black glass circle on the top center. on the other end were 3 black hook looking thingamabobs. "Cool!" Spike exclaimed, "but what does it do?" "I'm not sure..." Twilight said, "but I'm sure I'll have some use for it." Suddenly there was a loud knock on the door. "I'll get it!" Spike shouted, and bolted to answer it. Twilight set the object back on the table. Rainbow Dash stepped in. "Hey Twi. Finished the Daring Do series." "Again?" "Yeah, well, they're pretty awesome." Dash said. Suddenly Dash noticed the object on Twilight's table. "What's that?" she asked. "Oh, it's just something I picked up while I was out and-" Rainbow Dash slid her hoof into the white end of the object. "Careful with that!" Twilight shouted, a little louder than she had intended. "Oh, I'm sure nothing bad will happen," Dash assured her. "Besides, I- hey, what's this button do?-" a blue light flew out the black end of the object, the unexpected recoil knocking Dash back onto her plot. "Ow! What the-" suddenly both mares mouths feel open. On the wall where the light had landed, was a blue, oval, wavy...thing. "What is that?" Twilight asked nopony in particular, walking to the object to observe it closer. "There's another button in here," Dash said, and promptly pushed it. Another similar light, this time orange, flew out and formed into an orange replica of the blue object next to it for a split second, but then both objects became a reflection of the room, still retaining their colors in outlines. Dash stood stock still, but Twilight immediatly began investigating the two objects. She stuck her hoof into the blue one, and saw it come out of the orange. "Interesting..." she said. "Cool," Dash said, "maybe you don't always buy useless trinkets after all." "The possibilities of this are amazing! We've GOT to see what else we can do with this!" Twilight exclaimed. Dash threw a book through the orange one which came out the blue and hit Twilight in the back of the head. "Ow! Whoa! Conservation of physics! Yes, that makes sense..." The quizzical look on Dash's face prompted an explanation from Twilight. "In simpler terms, well, something going fast into one will go the same speed out the other." "Ohhh, ok. Hey, speaking of fast, I wanna go screw around with this thing." "NO!" Twilight said, again a bit loudly, "Um, at least not until i study this a bit more. Come back in an hour or so, then we'll talk." "Ugh, ok." * * * "Hey Twi, I'm back," Dash walked in, Pinkie Pie in tow. "Hi Twilight! I heard you got a super-duper amazing thing! Can I see it!" Pinkie said, bouncing towards where Twilight had the gun on a table. "What'd you figure out?" Dash said, peering over Twilight's shoulder. In response, Twilight said, "I have no bucking idea how this even works." "That's great, now I promised Pinkie I'd launch her into orbit," Dash said. "Ok, just remember, don't push the button that's-" Dash grabbed the gun and headed out the door. "Yeah yeah, whatever." * * * A few hours later, it was starting to get dark. Rainbow and Pinkie had exhausted their ideas of how to use their new "toy". Pinkie had not gone quite into orbit, but instead flew gracefully over the Everfree Forest, to land in a pile of mud. They had set up paths where ponies would be stuck in an infinite loop, leaving a very confused Derpy wondering why she had been walking for fifteen minutes without a change of scenery. Rainbow Dash had nearly done another Sonic Rainboom with another infinite loop. "So whadda we do now?" Pinkie was still bouncing with excitement. "I dunno," Dash sighed, her mane still sizzling from the last experiment. She was fiddling with the gun itself. Suddenly the white portion flipped open. "What the?" There was a little green button in the now revealed inner workings. "ooooOOOOHHHHhhh!" Pinkie said, peering down at the little green button. "Wonder what this does?" Dash thought aloud, and without any further ado, pushed the button. There was a bright flash and- Suddenly Rainbow Dash found herself sprawled on a cold, dull gray tiled floor. "Wha-what?" She got up and looked around. She was in glass-enclosed cubicle, with a surrounding concrete room. "What is going on here...?" Dash asked nopony in particular. There was a weird looking sort of egg-shaped bubble bed, a toilet, a radio playing some rather annoying music, a clipboard, and a coffee mug. Suddenly some speakers buzzed. Dash jumped. "Wha! Who's there!" An electronic female voice replied. "Hello, test subject number-" the voice fizzled out for a moment before abruptly returning- "and welcome to the Aperture Science Enrichment Center." -The End For now.
