Chapter seven

Violet looked over a grave, she was a bit sad, but she'll get over it, her daughter rubbed against her, "I'm sorry it's just he was..." She sighed, "He was very dear to me." Twilight rubbed again, "I know I'm sad, I'll get over it."
She didn't cry, but a tear did fall. "Violet?"
She looked behind her, "What are you doing here?"
She was a bit upset that her mourning was interrupted. "I came to see the grave with you, so who was he?"
"He was a good friend... his name was.. Brook."

Bookworm looked at the grave, "The old boat maker, it was his time, he lived a long, happy life." Violet nodded and they all left, she looked at him, he was getting better but the illness was attacking his mind. Sometimes he would forget things, it started small at first, he would forget what he was doing or what he was going to do. Then it got bigger, he would forget ponies and their names that he meet a week ago, or just meet. Then it got worst, he would forget where he was, or who they were, or even his family.

Bookworm was healthy psychically but mentally he was getting sicker, it wasn't all the time or every day, but it was getting there, like today he was fine. He remembered everything she said she was going to do, but next week he would forget something or someone and it was getting even worst! The doctor said if this keeps up, he would start forgetting twice a week, then four times a week, and then every day. Then 12 hours, then 6, then 3, then every hour, to 30 minutes, to 15, to 7, to 3, and eventually every minute.

The doctor suggested when it got that bad that maybe it will be time for Bookworm to be put to sleep, Violet almost got violent but she knew that was the right thing to do. Soon he would be to forgetful, he would need more care, and in all honestly, she couldn't care for both their child and Bookworm at the same time, it just wasn't possible. Was this her punishment for messing with fate? After all Bookworm was going to die from his illness, she cured his body, but now his mind being attacked from the same illness.

But this was all if's and when's, it was possible that maybe it wouldn't get that bad, or so she hoped, for now they would spend as much time together as possible. It seemed that he wasn't getting worst, but Violet didn't want to take any chances, so she flew them to their new home, young Twilight looked at the huge city, she was a bit more advanced than a normal filly. She was a year old, but she could also speak, Violet said it was normal for whelps to speak at such a young age so Twi talking was normal even for a hybrid.

"Where are we mother?"
Violet smiled at her, "We are near Canterlot."
Twi titled her head, "Camelot?"
Violet laughed, "No sweety Canterlot, they have better hospitals and doctors." She looked at Canterlot, she was sure that her massive size would scare the new ponies so she shrank down to a smaller size. She was still big enough to carry Twi on her back, she was now a bit smaller than Princess Celestia, but she was still a dragon, nothing she could do to change that.
She slowly approached the guards at the entrance, they held out their spears at her with magic, she looked at them both... were they twins or what? She honestly couldn't tell them apart, "Hello gentlemen I mean you no harm, my name is Violet."
She held out her citizen card and one guard took it and looked at it, "A dragon citizen?"
He handed it to the other guard who also looked at it, "Well she's got the card to prove it, who else is with you?"
"This is my husmate, Bookworm, and our daughter Twilight Amethyst Sparkle."
Both of the guard's mouths dropped, "That is a very long name..."
and then they closed them up quickly to get back into their natural look, "Indeed but did you say daughter and what's a husmate?"
Violet looked a bit upset, "Yes I said daughter, and husmate is husband and mate put together." She showed them her ring, "And if you judge us because we aren't the same species..."
The look she gave them made them shiver, "We aren't going to judge... my pal's friend married a zebra... isn't that right buddy?"

"Yeah they are a very happy couple."
Violet simply stared, "You two need to work on your lying, because fooling a dragon is a lot harder than a pony."
The two started to sweat, then a female voice interrupted them, "Might I ask what's going on here?" A large alicorn came forwards her flowing mane and tail looked like a sun rise,
Violet knew who this was, "Greetings princess Celestia, I have come to move in your city to help my husmate and maybe even my daughter."

Celestia took the card the guards had, looked it over, and than looked them over, "Well I don't see any problems here, please let them in." The guards didn't even argue, and allowed them in, Celestia didn't go into her royal carriage but rather walked back to her castle with them. The pony citizens looked at them, but moved on when the princess gave them a look, her guards followed behind, not even questioning why princess Celestia allowed a dragon and her odd family in her city.
