"Way to go, pal! Why don't you check out what your new buddy izzz!" Fluttershy hears a familiar electrical voice say as her Pokedex floats out of her bag and displays the information on the screen before she reaches down and picks up the Pokeball containing her new Haunter and puts it into her backpack.
"I don't know how that doesn't creep you out." Her rainbow haired friend says referring to Rotom as she attempts to throw a ball at the purple cloud of smog floating in front of her. It had been a couple of months since Fluttershy had taken Rainbow and gone to the Alola region to have the Pokedex Mewtwo gave her updated by Professor Kukui and Rainbow still wasn't used to it. It was at that same time that Fluttershy helped Rainbow to catch her first Pokemon, a Torkoal, and from then on the two had been exploring Canterlot, seeing what other Pokemon had decided to come out of the portal, because ever since Mewtwo had been captured, more and more Pokemon had decided to come out of the portal. And while Fluttershy had caught at least one of each of the species that had come through, Rainbow had only managed to add one Pokemon, which was a Dratini, to her team.
"I've just gotten used to the little fella," Fluttershy says as she and Charizard, who she used to fight the Haunter she had caught, walk over to Rainbow and her Torkoal as the Koffing slowly floats away from Rainbow and heads further into the burned out building the two girls were in.
"I'm tired of failing to catch these things!" Rainbow yells as she tosses the Pokeball she was holding down at the ground in her rage. "How much longer do we have to be here?"
"I'll check," Fluttershy says as she pulls a Pokeball out of her backpack and tosses it, temporarily releasing Mewtwo from its captivity. "Mewtwo? Is the threat still here?"
A familiar telepathic voice reaches the duo's minds as Mewtwo starts to communicate. "I sense that the beasts are still here in the building somewhere. You must stop them before they destroy more of the city." Mewtwo says as the girls remembered that the building they were in had been in perfect condition a few days ago.
"Well let's find them and get out of here!" Rainbow says as she returns Torkoal and attempts t lean against a wall, only for it to collapse under her weight and causes her to fall onto her back with an audible "oof!" Fluttershy rushes over to help Rainbow up and notices a staircase leading down to a basement below the building.
"This is the only place we have left to look," Fluttershy says before she and Rainbow slowly tread down the stairs. After a while, they reach the spacious basement and see three giant beasts. The first one looked like a brown dog with what looked like a a cloud of smoke emanating from his back, while the second one looked like a tiger with long teeth that looked like they belonged on a saber tooth tiger and a what looked like a thunder cloud on his back. The third one looked like a blue dog with a purple mane, two white tails that looked like streamers, and a blue hexagonal crest on his head.
"You think this is the threat Mewtwo warned us about?" Rainbow asks as she pulls a ball out of her bag.
"Without a doubt," Fluttershy says as she pulls two balls out and hands one to Rainbow. "What, I cant let you in there with only two Pokemon." Fluttershy says when she sees Rainbow's look of skepticism, before she turns and approaches the beast in the room. Rainbow quickly follows suit and looks at Fluttershy, who nods and lobs the ball at the same time that Rainbow does. Soon Charizard and a glowing creature that resembles the Haunter Fluttershy had caught emerge from the balls. After a few moments, the glow coming from Haunter becomes unbearable before an explosion of light occurs and a purple Pokemon as dark as shadow stands before Rainbow.
"Gengar!" It yells threateningly at the beasts before the brown dog unleashes an earsplitting roar, causing the Pokemon to return to their balls and Fluttershy to cower behind Rainbow before it and the creature that looked like a tiger run for the door. The blue creature moves to leave as well, but stops before Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash with a forlorn look on his face before he exits the basement.
