//------------------------------// // Chapter six // Story: Twilight the hybrid // by WolfGoddess1990 //------------------------------// When the three finally got back to Violet's cave she told Bookworm she was going to go visit her family to tell them the news and flew off, in reality, that was just a good excuse for the real reason why she wanted to go back to her homeland. Of course, she did visit her family, told them the news of her new baby, but she also asked for permission to go to their sacred spring, this spring was very special and important because it had magical properties that can do amazing things. If this spring water won't cure Bookworm then nothing will, she walked down the tunnel to their sacred spring, when she got there she stood at the water's edge, the water rippled and a small dragon made of water came out, "Greetings Violet, what brings you here?" Violet bowed to the dragon, "Greetings spring guardian, I'm here to get some of this water to cure my hus... mate." The guardian tilted her head, "Violet you shouldn't be afraid telling me the truth, I won't judge who you choose for your mate." Violet nodded, "Thank you, can I take some of this water?" The guardian was silent for a moment, "Are you willing to accept the fact that this water might not cure him?" Violet opened and closed her mouth then looked away, this spring was her last hope, and she was sure this will cure him... but will it really? She looked at the spring guardian who was waiting patiently for her answer, "Are you saying that this spring water won't cure him?" The guardian simply looked at her. "I didn't say that... I'm simply asking if your willing to accept the fact that it might not cure him." Violet brought out a small bottle she got from her father, it was made of special glass, pure and untainted to hold the spring water, "I am willing to accept that if this spring water won't cure him then nothing will." The guardian nodded, "Then you may take some spring water." Violet carefully dipped the bottle in the spring, then corked the bottle when she filled it enough. The guardian vanished, Violet walked back out, flew home with the bottle, and landed carefully, "Bookworm, I have something for you." She showed him the bottle and he took it with his magic, "It looks like water... what is it really?" She sighed, "It's our sacred spring water, it has magical properties, it could possibly cure you, and if it doesn't then nothing will..." He looked closely at the water, it looked like normal water, but he sipped it anyways to taste it, it even tastes like normal water. Every day he took a sip of the water, he even got a sample to do any tests he wanted on it, he even got his high leveled unicorn friend to do tests on the water sample. He got a report back saying it was high-quality water the kind rich and famous ponies want to buy, and it had some kind of magical properties, most likely from the dragons. Bookworm knew all pony races had some kind of magic in them, earth ponies had physical powers, pegasi had speed and agility in the air and can fly and unicorns had their horns. So it made sense that other races would have magical properties, he saw Violet shrink and grow, and heard about the other powers of her family, so it wasn't that far-fetched. He went to the doctor again and he got a 50/50% chance of being cured, which made Violet so happy, it was better than it was before, he actually had a chance of living! But then she frowned remembering what the guardian said, and the doctor said it was only a 50/50% chance meaning that he might also die from his illness... Still, 50% was better than nothing, so they spent time together with their daughter, Violet was shocked how fast she grew, Bookworm laughed saying that it was normal because she was aging like a filly, not a whelp. She took all of them to her homeland because it was important for Twilight to be around other whelps. She was afraid of how both of them were going to be treated but her fears were put to rest because her tribe welcomed them as much as the town ponies did for her, and Bookworm asked them questions. The other whelps were first a little confused when they saw Twilight because she looked different, but after a while, they accepted her and let her play with them. Dragon's weren't solitary beasts like everypony thinks they are, but just because some dragons like to live alone and had territories doesn't mean they are solitary beasts. It just meant some dragons enjoyed their space, liked the peace and quiet, and preferred not to crowd a lot of areas, especially near ponies since it was rude to crowd their towns. That's why they lived in mountain areas, or in areas ponies aren't living in, like uncharted areas, and the dragon lands, or as they call it the dragon's lair. She smiled as she watched Twilight play with the other whelps, she even joined them for a relaxing time in a shallow lava pool. For some reason, though her hair didn't burn, wasn't her hair spouse to be pony hair? Bookworm seemed shocked about this so clearly pony hair isn't lava or fire proof must be magic or the dragon blood in her.
