//------------------------------// // 35 Blue // Story: For science // by Znegil //------------------------------// I was surprised how elegant Canterlot appeared, the white marble and the curved forms. Some buildings looked like an ancient Greek style but managed to fit perfectly with other quiet different houses. The beautiful castle towered above all and was visible from every place we went. The information center was just a few minutes away from the train station, when we entered I saw my first griffon. All parts were familiar, but this strange mix of them looked just odd to me. The griffon seemed to be in a bad mood and growled as he passed us. His claws were just terrifying. "Now that's a creature you don't want a fight with.", I told Twilight once the griffon was out of sight. "Yeah, Griffons are known to be a little grumpy. I only had contact with one so far, and it wasn't a pleasant experience." Ten minutes later we walked out holding a list of possible activities. I gave it a quick read through on our way to the castle to pick up Luna. Ponies stared at me all the way, but there was no panic, I guess news of me had already spread here. We entered the palace, and Twilight led me through a labyrinth of corridors until we arrived in an impressive throne room. Luna stood there awaiting us. "I'm sorry to inform you my sister isn't available to keep you company. Instead, I will come with you for dinner in one of the finest restaurants." "Ohhh, that's to bad.", said Twilight in a very dramatic way, she was an even worse liar than I was. "But we are happy you keep us company instead." Luna hesitated. "Is this all just a plan by my sister?", she asked. "Whaaaat? Of course not.", Twilight answered with an obviously fake smile. "Twily, please...", I said. "Let's not lie to Luna." I stepped a bit closer to the princess. "Yes, your sister worries about you. She wants you to be happy and to find more friends. But I was really looking forward to our dinner tonight because you seemed like a very likable character last time we met. So could you please accompany us? We have some more things planned for you after dinner." "I'm not sure I want to.", she replied and seemed a bit angry for being tricked. "I promise I will tell you the truth tonight whatever you'll ask me. And if you come with us, you won't be the one ponies staring at.", I said smiling. "Whatever I ask you?", she asked with a grin that made me a bit uncomfortable. "Sure.", I replied. I wanted to earn her trust. "Well, we had a very nice dinner when we visited you, so I should return the favor. Let's go. We have a table reservation in 'the silver horn', my favorite restaurant." We followed her as she left the throne room the way we had entered, I was relieved she was coming with us. ... We sat down at our table. The restaurant was high class, and every seat was taken. "You were right. Nobody seems to take much notice of me, all eyes are glued to you.", Luna said and looked quite happy about it. "Told you. Some of them might even fear I could try to eat them." "Well talking about eating meat...", she started. "Would you like some? This restaurant also serves meals with meat or fish for griffons." I reminded myself about being honest with her tonight. "I would like to eat some fish again if this isn't a problem for both of you." "Not at all.", Luna replied. "You can eat what you want.", said Twilight. "I will not think of you any different because of it, but I will stop kissing you until you have brushed your teeth again, I don't want to know how fish tastes." "Fair enough.", I answered and started to look through the 'meat and fish' section of the menu. A few minutes later the waiter came to get our orders. Luna ordered a mushroom cheese risotto; Twilight went for spinach tortellini, and I chose a grilled fish with rice and veggies. We all had water with our meals. Once the waiter disappeared, Luna leaned close to us and said: "Well, I told you about my sexual adventures last time, I guess it's your turn now." "In here? Really?", I asked. "Well, you don't have to shout them out. I could cast a bubble of silence if that makes it easier your you." "Wouldn't that be rude to the other guests?", I asked. "I will just whisper." I learned close to them. "There isn't that much to tell. The wildest thing I had was a one night stand when I was young. His roommate came in while we did it and he just watched us to the end. Apart of that, I only had three relationships before Twilight, only one of them long-term ." "Why did you break up in the long-term one?", the princess asked. "I don't want to talk about it." "You said you would tell me the truth all night.", she reminded me. "And the truth is, I don't want to talk about it, okay? Don't push it." "I just don't think that's fair after all the things I told you.", she pouted a bit. "She died! Happy now?" I covered my eyes and tried to slow down my breathing. "I... I'm sorry. I didn't know.", she stuttered. "I thought it was just something embarrassing, not... this." she laid her hoof on my shoulder. "I'm so sorry about this. Please forgive me." I heard the fear in her voice and looked up to see her face. Her eyes were filled with tears, and they were begging for forgiveness. 'She is afraid to lose a friend.', I thought. I calmed down and laid my hand on her hoof. "It's okay. You couldn't know, and you didn't want to hurt me. Let's just forget it happened." I was able to give her a little smile. I held on to her hoof while she relaxed again and Twilight silently started to talk. "Stella is the first one I had been intimate with. Before, I just used different... things inside of me. One day Spike came in without knocking, and I had to come up with some stupid excuse about taking my temperature while I chased him out." She blushed while Luna and I both snickered for a moment. I remembered a pink phallic shaped object I had seen in Twilight's drawer when I got that numbing oil out of it, maybe a thing we could use in the future. We talked about much tamer topics for a while. Luna was curious about earth. I told her about my childhood and inventions that had been made. She was fascinated by my stories about the space race to the moon and how the whole world was watching as we finally landed on it. "I always loved to look up to the night sky and dreamed about different worlds we would discover." I ended my monolog as our food arrived. My grilled fish came in one piece. I noticed Twilight was glancing at it but she didn't say a word. It was nice to have some fish again. It was delicious, and I savored my meal so much. ... "That was an incredible meal.", I said and rubbed my belly. "It is my favorite restaurant for a reason.", Luna told us, followed by a little burp. "Pardon." I smiled and let out a little louder burp. "Pardon." "Is this a challenge?", Luna asked grinning. I shrugged, still smiling. She let out a thunderous burp, every pony in the restaurant stared at us. Twilight hid behind her hooves while we both laughed. "Very princess-like.", I was able to say after I got my laughter under control. "I say a princess should be able to do whatever she wants, so by definition everything I do is princess-like.", she said with a big grin. "Well if that is the case, we have a lot of princess-like things for you to do tonight. Have you ever been roller skating?" "Can't say I have, must have been one of the things they invented within the last 1000 years. What is it?", she asked. "We going to put little wheels under your hooves, you know what a wheel is right?", I mocked her. "Har har, here come the age jokes, you would be surprised about the stuff I can do but you can't... or wouldn't dare to do." "Okay, let's pay the bill and find out." "I just have to sign it, and it will be paid from the treasury. Bill please!", she shouted. "Maybe this all was a mistake.", I heard Twilight mumble. "Everything is fine, honey.", I told her and pulled her into a loving hug. "We are just gonna have some fun."
