//------------------------------// // Chapter Four: Pinkie Pie and Applejack's double surprise // Story: Canterlot Boarding School for the Elite // by RandomHumanBeging4112 //------------------------------// Applejack was working on her family's farm when her grandma, Granny Smith came out with a letter in her hand. "Applejack! You got a scholarship to Canterlot Academy!" Granny Smith said. "Ah did? How? I've been home schooled, and ah wasn't very good." Applejack said. "Well, you know that foster girl from the bakery, Pinkie Pie?" "Sorta." "Well, her foster parents went to Canterlot Academy, and they twins of their own, so they said that they wanted two scholarships for them, but they just go two, and their twins are only babies, so they gave one scholarship to Pinkie, and they wanted to give the other to you." Granny Smith explained. "Wow, that's amazin'! Why would they be so nice?" "Well, because they knew how poor of an education you had, so they wanted you to have a better one at Canterlot Academy." Granny Smith replied. "Wow, ah better go over and thank 'em!" Applejack said as she grabbed her truck keys and took off for the bakery. Applejack made it to the bakery during rush hour, luck AJ. She ran in to find Pinkie Pie at the front counter taking an order. "Howdy Pinkie! Are yerr folks around?" Applejack asked. "Oh, you mean the Cakes? They're in the back baking some cookies, you can go back there if you want." Pinkie said. "Okay, thanks." Applejack said as she ran into the back room where the Cakes were. "Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Cake." Applejack said when she walked into the back. "Oh! Hello, Applejack, what are you doing here?" Mrs. Cake asked. "Oh, well ah just wanted to thank you for giving me that scholarship! Y'all didn't have ta do that." Applejack said. "Oh, but we did! We knew that you had had such a poor education, so we decided to give the extra scholarship to you." Mr. Cake said. "Ah feel like ah should do somethin' in return for ya." Applejack said. "Oh, no need, we felt like we should just do it for you, no charge." Mrs. Cake said. "Ah can babysit the twins for ya!" Applejack suggested. "You could?" the two asked in unison. "Yeah! Ah could even do it right now!" Applejack said. "Well, if you insist, they're up in their room, upstairs, you can use the home phone to call Granny Smith and tell her that you're babysitting." Mr. Cake said. "Alright, I'll go do that." Applejack said as she ran upstairs. Applejack ran upstairs to find that the twins had destroyed the place. "Oh, brother." A few hours later, a frazzled Applejack walked into the dining part of the bakery. "Man, those twins are crazy, ah can't believe ah agreed ta that." Applejack said. "Ha! Welcome to my world! You wanna free cupcake?" Pinkie asked. "That would be nice." Applejack said. Pinkie Pie got two cupcakes and sat down in a booth with Applejack. "So, how'd ya end up in home school?" Pinkie asked. "Well, after Ma and Pa passed, they left us in a lot of debt, as well tripling the work on the farm, so we ended up nearly closing down, but ah dropped out of school and had Granny home school me so ah could help out on the farm, and it never stopped." "Wow, I guess that makes sense." "Yeah, how'd you end up in foster care?" Applejack asked. "Well, I was born on a rock farm, but I was too different from my parents. They were serious and boring, but I was fun and exciting! But my parents and sisters, except my bestie as well as big sis, Maud, didn't like that. And so they put me in foster care. And I was passed on from family to family until I ended up with the Cakes, I've learned to tone down my "craziness" a little bit, so I don't have to leave." Pinkie Pie explained. "Wow, that's pretty crazy." Applejack said. "Yeah, I mean, my family is different from me, but I still love them, I just wish they knew that." Pinkie Pie said. "Yeah, but I guess that's what life will do ta ya." "Hey, if you don't mind me asking, how did your parents die?" Pinkie asked. "Oh, they got in a car accident a long time ago. Ah just wish that they listened to the radio, and didn't drive in the storm." Applejack said sadly. "Oh, that's tough. You know, I kinda hope that we'll be roommates at Canterlot Academy." Pinkie said. "Yeah, me too. You seem like a nice person, and we seem to have some things in common, ah guess." Applejack said. "Yeah! We should hang out more often! Like, maybe you and I could make a batch of apple-flavored treats!" Pinkie said happily. "Yeah! You wanna do that now?" Applejack asked. "You bet I do! Let's go!" Pinkie said as she lead Applejack into the kitchen. "Okay, so whadaya wanna make first?" Pinkie asked. "Um, how about some apple fritters." Applejack suggested. "That sounds amazing!" Pinkie said as she the ingredients in a flash. "Alright, let's get baking! Hey! We should make a cooking show!" Pinkie said. "Um, let's just bake the fritters first, how about that?" "Okey-dokey-lokey!" Pinkie said. And so the new friends began to bake. After the finished the fritters, they made cupcakes, dumplings, and anything that you could make with an apple. By the time they had finished, it was already nine o'clock, and Applejack needed to get home. "Bye Pinkie! See ya later!" Applejack said as she got into her truck and drove off. "Alright, ah finally made a new friend!" Applejack said to herself.
