	Violet's mouth dropped, did she hear that right? How was that even possible? I mean she never even seen another dragon much less... her mind clicked, oh... but was that possible? Clearly, it was since she was going to have an egg, she flew back, told Bookworm the news, and he reacted in a way she thought he would, he fainted. Of course, after the shock, he wanted to know about everything she was going through, morning sickness, food cravings, mood swings, and if dragons went through this normally.

She chuckled before answering all of his questions, despite everything he was still the same curious Bookworm, and that's what she loved about him, he will never change. She moved around the wool until she was satisfied that it could safely hold the egg, keep it warm, and have some room left to sleep next to it. With that done she slept in the wool bed, an egg when it hatched they were going to have... a whelp? A foal or filly? What will it be called? Let's just go with a baby, that sounded right.

Finally, after months of waiting she had their egg, she curled next to it, the egg was purple, with magenta, and violet spots, she looked over at Bookworm who was finishing his last book, was there really nothing they could do? Violet got some medicine from her homeland, she even got a potion master to mix her medicine with pony medicine and of course, he took it all. Just to make her feel better like she was trying her hardest to cure him, and he said if nothing worked not to feel so bad when he died.
Bookworm went to the doctor to see if the medicine was doing anything, he came back with the news that it was helping to keep him healthy but it didn't cure him. At least he will live long enough to see their child hatch, speaking of their child they, like all normal married couple, argued on what her name will be. Violet took the egg in for an exam and the doctor said it will be a girl, she wanted to name her something short, like any dragon name and he wanted the name to be pony like.

Violet suggested Amethyst, it was a short, beautiful, and amethyst's were purple, and Bookworm suggested Twilight, the time when he realized he loved her. Both were short, both would work, but which to use? He suggested to combine the two, but he said it didn't sound right so he added something else. When he said the full name her jaw dropped, it was a mouth full... Twilight Amethyst Sparkle, but she had to admit it did sound perfect and came with tons of short nicknames.

When the egg finally hatched both parents looked at their odd looking child, her main body was violet, with a purple underbelly, dragon claws, and a strange horn. Bookworm noticed she had a tuff of hair for her mane and tail, both dark blue with magenta and pink streaks... at least he thought it looked pink, it was kind of hard to tell at this stage. Twilight's dragon-pony ear twitched as she yawned showing off her tiny sharp teeth, and she opened her eyes revealing the purple colored dragon eyes.

Twilight honestly looked more dragon like than pony like, with the dragon tail, scales, spikes, horns... but she did have some things that made her look pony like, the mane was one, no wings and having hair at the end of her dragon tail was another, she was also a bit more pony shaped and sized. They took Twilight in for a magical exam, to find out some things that they couldn't see, the doctor said that her strange front horn could indeed cast magic like a unicorn, and she had a bit longer life span than a pony.

When Violet asked what that meant he explained it means that she will age like a pony for her starting years but once she reaches her adult years the aging will slow down and she will live longer than 100 years. He couldn't give her the exact number of years she will live for since dragons can live for thousands of years compared to the 100 plus years a pony can live. So he was guessing at this point, and the only thing he could compare her to was the draconequus statue, and that wasn't very helpful.

Even the information Bookworm got on the statue wasn't helpful since that draconequus wasn't naturally born, or at least that's what the princess said since she herself didn't have much info on how he was born or created. Plus that statue was more chimera like because of the many different creature parts, then it was a draconequus, which was what Twilight was, and as far as anyone knows she will be the first naturally born draconequus.
