I laid next to Twilight. We were both breathing heavy.
"That was... different than usual.", Twilight said. "You never had been so focused on my juices before. It almost felt like you wanted to milk me for every drop... not that I'm complaining, it felt incredible."
"Well, I came from a strange situation when I entered the library, I promise to give attention to your whole body next time. I hope Rarity isn't angry I snatched you away from her."
Twilight blushed a bit. "Oh no, that's the second time she heard me moan and scream because of you. It was hard to concentrate on the bubble because of your 'distractions' ."
"I'm sure she has heard others doing this before and will manage.", I said and kissed her. "We should go to sleep now. I think we had enough action for a day."
"Okay... can you pet me to sleep again?"
"Sure, honey."
I used my fingers to brush through her mane and slowly stroked down her neck. She reacted with content humming and leaned into it. I continued petting her neck and back until her breathing slowed down and I knew she was asleep. I gave her neck a final kiss and allowed myself to drift into dreamland too.

I was up bright and early next day. I had a quick breakfast and then sat on the balcony and watched the sky. I saw many pegasi arranging the clouds above us until the was no opening left. Rainbow was easy enough to spot amongst them. Her colors made her almost shine in front of this gray sky. Her speed and agility allowed her to move about twice as many clouds than most of the others.
'Okay, they have covered the sky, but how are they going to make them rain?'
My question got answered after a few seconds. They started to kick some clouds, those started to rain down immediately and all the connected clouds followed in a chain reaction within seconds. I moved back a little bit to be safe from the rain. I was quite impressed that the whole maneuver of setting up the clouds had taken less than an hour.
I thought about getting Dashie's attention, but I was horrible at keeping secrets, so I better would...
"Hey, did you enjoy the show?", Rainbow hovered before me.
"What? What do you mean by that?", I asked worriedly.
She was confused by my reaction. "I made it rain!"
'... big drops of spicy...'
"Why are you having this dreamy look on your face? Hello?!" she shook me by my shoulders.
I came back to reality. "Sorry Dashie, I guess I hadn't enough sleep last night.", I defended myself. "We are young lovers..."
"Yeah, I can imagine.", she replied with a lewd grin.
"I think it is amazing how you prepared this rain, the speed and agility you had up there, just marvelous."
That's what she wanted to hear. She struck a cool pose. "Well that the reason why I'm the captain of the weather team."
"You sure have earned it."
Her whole body seemed to grow a bit. She was awful proud of herself. Her expression only changed as she remembered something. "Hey, before I forget, the whole gang is invited to Fluttershy's cottage at sunset, very important news. Are you seeing any of them today?"
"I will start building my lab with Applejack after the rain is over and Twilight of course. "
"Great, that's two less I have to inform, could you please tell them?", she asked.
"Sure."
She was about to fly away but stopped again. "You know I include you when I talk about the gang, right? I mean my closest friends. Even if you weren't together with Twilight, I would consider you one of them."
"Thanks, that's awfully sweet of you." I playfully nudged her shoulder. "Okay, who are you and where is the real Rainbow Dash?"
"Har har, I can be sappy too sometimes.", she said smiling and looked around. "But don't tell anyone, I have an image to obtain."
"My lips are sealed."
"See you later!", she shouted while she flew away.

While the rain lasted, I read side by side with Twilight in the library. I loved feeling her body heat in such relaxed situations. Half an hour after it had stopped I used my bookmark and positioned myself in front of the library, waiting for Applejack’s arrival.
When Applejack approached a few minutes later, I was once again impressed by her strength. There was a huge amount of wood on the cart she pulled towards me.
"Hey, partner. Ready for a good day of work?", she asked.
"Sure, I can't wait to start."
"I hope you know exactly how you want to have it done.", she said while she pulled the cart behind the library.
"I made some drawings with the exact measurements we shouldn't have any problems. It's just two big wooden boxes next to each other. The only thing unusual is the blast wall."
"The what? One has to be reinforced?", she asked.
"Quite the opposite actually, one lab wall will be built without being connected to the others, and there will be only a single nail holding it from falling."
She looked at me as if I had gone mad.
"Look, I will do some potentially dangerous stuff in this lab.", I explained to her. "If an explosion occurs, this wall will give immediately and fall. Most of the destruction and injuries from an explosion happens because the energy has nowhere to go and is trapped. It's a building technique we use in most chemical labs on earth."
"If you say so. You want a rickety wall, I build it for yer."
...
After we had marked down the measurements on the ground, we started to dig the holes for the big poles. Applejack did three in the time I had 'almost' finished one.
"How can you be so strong and efficient?", I asked.
"Years of working on the farm. It makes you strong, and you learn not to waste any time."
I just nodded in reply, then I remembered something. "We are all invited to Fluttershy's cottage at sunset. Dashie asked me to tell you that."
She stopped working and looked at me. "That's odd? Do you know what it's about?"
I felt conflicted, Fluttershy and Rainbow should tell her about their relationship... but maybe it wasn't a bad idea to give her a heads-up so she would not react the way she did to my relationship. "Maybe."
She raised an eyebrow. "So?"
Considering how Fluttershy could react on negative feedback from her friends, I decided to tell her. "I believe Fluttershy and Dashie will announce their relationship."
"I think you're nutty as a fruitcake. First you and Twilight and now Flutters and Dashie? Why do you think that?", she asked clearly enraged.
I took a step back. "Let's say I saw evidence. Please try to stay calm. "
"Try to stay calm?!", she screamed. "Soon everypony will have someone to share their life with. EVERYPONY BUT ME!"
I saw fear and anger in her expression... the fear increased as she realized what she just had said out loud. I came close to her and tried to put my arm around her to calm her down. "Hey, I don't..."
"Back off!" She pushed me away, and her strength send me tumbling over the grass. "You started all of this!"
Behind her I saw Twilight storming out of the library, I signed her that I was fine and to slow down a bit.
"Applejack, we are your friends, we don't do this to hurt you.", I told her as calm as possible and slowly got closer again.
"I know.", she said, and all tension left her body as she slumped down on the ground. "I know...", she repeated, and I heard her sniffle.
I laid my arm around her, and this time she leaned her body against mine. Her head was low, and her eyes were hidden behind her tousled mane. Her Stetson laid in the dirt.
