A Dash of Revenge

She Just... Bursted Through the Window!

*BAM!*

A window was thrown open with great force. Twilight looked up from her studies to see the familiar face of her friend, Rainbow Dash, flying at her at full speed, a determined look in her magenta eyes.

"TWILIGHT!" The cyan pegasus screamed, coming to an abrupt stop in front of the alicorn.

"Wh-What?!" Twilight yelled back, equally as loud; a large indigo book about previous Equestrian crises was flown across the room. "Is something wrong? Did the princesses get kidnapped again? Is Sombra back?! Does the fate of Equestria hang completely in the balance?!"

Rainbow gave her a small peck on the lips.

Then promptly bolted right back out the window from which she came, with no explanation whatsoever. Twilight stood, processing what had happened in her mind. Rainbow Dash kissed her.

Rainbow Dash kissed me. It repeated in her head. She walked over to the window and looked out, seeing no sign of the pegasus; just then realizing the growing warmth in her cheeks, she placed a hoof on her heated face. "Rainbow... she... S-Spike!" She called out, anxiously awaiting the dragon's swift arrival.

"Yeah?" Spike called back from the hall before running into the room- quill and parchment in hand in case of emergency- with a concerned tilt of his head.

"S-Say, Spike..." Twilight stuttered, her ears flattened against her head. The hoof holding her face squished into her cheek as she frowned. "Do we..." She inhaled, "Do we happen to have a book on what to do when a pony suddenly breaks in through your window and kisses you only to leave in seconds and that pony happens to be your best friend who has also been your crush for a long, long time?"

Spike blinked. "...Huh?"

"I don't know!" Twilight leapt into the air, "Rainbow Dash, she just... bursted through the window! And then she screamed at me, I screamed back, I had no idea what was going on..." She flies nervous circles around the baby dragon, cheeks enflamed, "And then she... she...!" Her entire face turned red once more, and a groan escaped her as she slowly lowered herself to the ground. "Ooh, I need to calm down..."

"Yeah, for real..." Spike agreed, patting her head comfortingly. "So, what I got from that, is that Rainbow Dash flew in here to... kiss you?"

"D-Don't say it! That makes it real!" She hid her face in her hooves.

"Honestly, Twilight, I don't really see why you're so worked up about it. If anything, you should be glad."

"Glad?"

"Yeah, glad! I mean, I'd give anything for Rarity to break into the castle just to kiss me and leave. An opportunity like that doesn't just come around every few moons, y'know." He replied with a painfully smitten look to the ceiling.

Twilight near instinctively rolled her eyes, before Spike spoke again, "But like I was saying, you won't accomplish anything just freakin' out about it."

"Well," Twilight defended, "What do you suggest I do?"

"I think..." He smirked, "You should get back at her!"

"...Get back at her?"

"You know what I mean."

"...I'm scared."

'Holy crap holy crap holy crap holy crap!'

As soon as Rainbow dashed out of the castle, she freaked. Now, it's not unlike Rainbow Awesome Dash to do something bold, daring, completely out of the blue.

But this. This was on a completely different level.

How stupid was she to bet against Pinkie Pie? The mare can bend space and time! She never had a chance. Stupid, stupid, stupid--

"HEY!! RAINBOW DASH!! DOWN HERE!"

Speak of the Pie and she doth appear; Rainbow glanced down to see Pinkie Pie, waving her hoof at an abnormal and aggressive speed. With a heavy sigh, Rainbow glided down to meet her odd friend.

"Uh, hey Pinkie."

Pinkie's unwavering grin only widened. "Sooo..." She began in a sing-song voice, "How'd it go?"

Rainbow immediately sputtered, "Uh-- Pfft-- B-Bold of you to assume I actually did it!"

The pink mare giggled, "Silly, I know you did it! Don't think I'd let you off on your own to do something like this without a watchful eye~" As if on cue, the threatening form of Gummy came waddling in front of her. He licked his eye with a long, forked tongue.

A sudden feeling of dread (and embarrassment) washed over the pegasus. "Wha-- Huh-- But-- How--?!"

"A clown never reveals her secrets, Miss Dash." She winked, swooping Gummy up in her hair and letting him sink into the abyss of pink curls. "Sooo, SPILL! How did it go?!"

Rainbow cursed; she should have known better to challenge Pinkie. Again. She's one pony you can't beat. With an awkward swish of her tail, Rainbow sighed, "It was… fine.”

    “‘Fine’?”

“Yeah, It…” She stopped, questioning the answer. “It was fine?"

"FINE? That's such a lame answer!" Pinkie leaned in closer to the pondering pegasus, grabbing her shoulders, "Tell me more! How did she react? Was anypony else there? How did it feel?! Was it great? I bet it was great! Ooh, how--!"

    “I liked it.” Rainbow interrupted.

    “You liked it?!”

“Yeah, I liked it.” She said again without much thought, a light smile on her face.

“You LIKED it?!” Pinkie asked, again, although much louder. And that's when it hit Rainbow like a pillar square in the face.

She did indeed like it. She liked the warmth of their lips connected, she liked the subtle taste of vanilla ice cream on Twilight's own, she liked the strange satisfaction she felt in the moments before she sped away. She liked kissing Twilight. Her mind went haywire with the thought.

“Holy crap, Pinkie, I liked it!” Dash exclaimed fearfully, tugging at her prisma-colored mane.

“Mmm-hmm!” The pink pony hummed in a teasing manner.

“But… But that's so weird! I can't do that! What does that mean for me?!” Pinkie only giggled giddily as Rainbow rambled, “What if the others find out?! What if they figure out that I kissed our best friend and LIKED it?!” She gasps. “What if Twilight finds out? Pinkie, this will RUIN our friendship! She won't wanna be my friend anymore and then our entire friend group will be torn apart and all of Equestria will be in danger forever! And, and what if--!”

"Ooh, Twilight!” Pinkie exclaimed, shoving a hoof in Rainbow's mouth. “Funny seeing you here..." She said, shooting an amused glance at the pegasus.

Rainbow returned a glare as she pulled Pinkie's hoof away. Carefully, she turned to look Twilight in the eye. "Oh, uh, hey Twi. What's... What's up?" Her voice shook. Even in the face of this minor inconvenience, Rainbow couldn't keep her confidence from wavering.

Twilight said nothing. And neither did Spike, who was sitting unblinking on her back, which was rather odd for him. Instead, with the slightest tinge of pink in her cheeks, she stumbled in front of Rainbow Dash, and...

...kissed her, before clumsily speeding off into the air in the same manner Dash had mere minutes ago. A loud, exaggerated gasp from Pinkie subdued the snide snickering of Spike as Twilight flew off.

"Oh my gosh!! Dash, what are you going to do?!" Pinkie cried out through excessive giggling.

Rainbow held a hoof up to her muzzle, both puzzled and thrilled by the tingling feeling on her lips. She liked kissing Twilight, but she never even thought about how Twilight kissing her would feel.

And she decided that she liked it. She liked it a lot. “Easy.” She flew open her wings, gearing herself up for takeoff. “I’m gonna get some sweet, sweet revenge!”
