And?” “If the either the monster or the trap is removed from the field, the other is destroyed. And judging by the look of worry on your face now, I think you know exactly what I’m about to do.” *************************************************** Reese’s Turn: Reese activates Heavy Storm, destroying all spell and trap cards on the field. If I have an xyz monster in my deck, I sure better start supporting it, right?” Flim and Flam weakly got up. “Don’t think you’ve seen the last of us,” said Flim. “We are just a couple of many,” added Flam. In a flash of bright green light, they disappeared. “Are you alright, man?” asked Alex to Reese. “Fine. You did gre-” “We, dude. We did great.” Reese smiled. “What about my broken window?” asked Carolyn. “I can help with that,” said Twilight. With a glow of her horn, all of the broken glass seemed to animate in reverse from when it broke until it formed a solid pane again. “My window!” cried Carolyn in jubilation, running into the house. Everyone else came in to see the dining room was as clean as they had left it. “Is it safe to eat?” asked Sarah. “Only one way to find out,” said Tom, picking up his fish taco and biting it. He immediately winced in pain. “Honey!” called Carolyn. “Are you alright?” “Whole…” he moaned, “pod of coriander in that bite.” Sarah punched him in the arm, eliciting laughs from everyone. Their food was still acceptably warm, so they all resumed their meal together. Soon later though, Claude finally arrived. “Is everything alright?” he asked, walking in. Alex and Reese explained the incident with the Flim Flam brothers. “I see. But you’re alright, right?” “Seems to be,” answered Reese. “And now our enemy has a Stone of Equus card as well.” “And we’ll be ready for them,” replied Tom. “So was that all?” “Yes,” said Alex. “Thank you, Claude.” “You all have a good night.” Claude left shortly after. “If you don’t mind,” said Reese to Alex and the ponies, “Emma and I were planning on leaving too. Thanks for dinner… and, well, everything else.” “No problem,” said Alex, shaking both Reese and Emma’s hand. “So, I’ll see you tomorrow possibly?” asked Emma. “Yeah, possibly.” With a wave Emma and Reese entered their car and drove back home. “What did you mean by tomorrow?” asked Twilight. “They’re having a large dueling competition tomorrow at the park.” “Oh,” sulked Twilight, her ears drooping. “What’s wrong?” “It’s just we never got to you teaching us how to duel yet.” “If only magic could do that for you,” Alex shrugged. “Wait! That’s a great idea! Alex, kneel down for me.” Alex did what he was told, but was apprehensive. “What for?” “I can copy your knowledge of dueling through my magic and implant it in my friend’s minds.” “Does it hurt?” “Not from what I’m told. Just stay still and relax.” Alex closed his eyes as he felt Twilight’s horn on his head. A bright light then emanated from Twilight’s horn. _________________________________________________________________________________________ In an unknown location, two people, two ponies, and a griffon were sitting at a table in a large windowless boardroom. One of the humans was a female, as told by the curves of her body. She wore a bright red woman’s suit and had a mask that closely resembled the face of Hexadecimal from the cartoon ReBoot. The only other defining feature of hers was her black bobbed hair. The other human was a young man in his late teens to very early twenties. He was slender with a handsome face. He had fiery red hair styled in a faux-hawk that perfectly contrasted with his blue trenchcoat, along with black slacks and black boots. His eyes were green like emeralds. One of the ponies was a unicorn mare who had an azure coat of fur with an icy blue tail with a streak of light blue in the center. She wore a purple cape with star designs on them with a matching wizard’s hat on the table. The other pony looked more creature than pony. She was hairless, black, and extremely skinny. She had holey insect-like wings, a jagged horn on her head, large lime green eyes, vampiric teeth, a cerulean colored kelp-like mane and tale, and a strange blue and green plating on her back that fastened around her waist. Her hooves were also filled with holes. The griffon had a light-brown lioness’ body, brown eagle wings, yellow talons, and a white eagle’s head with two large purple markings around her amber eyes with 3 large feathers over her forehead with purple tips. Flim and Flam appeared in the room after being defeated. “So,” said the masked woman, “how did it go?” “We… lost,” admitted Flam. “Of course you did,” said the azure unicorn. She began referring to herself in 3rd person. “If she had just sent Trixie to take them on, none of this would have happened.” “Silence,” demanded the masked woman. “That’s not entirely important. Did you at least get some information about them?” “We did,” chirped Flim. “One of them is Alexander Yuwell. He uses a Dragunity deck, and his Equus card is the Jade Wyvern. The other is Reese Miller.” The male human perked up. “He uses a-” “-Zombie deck,” interrupted the man. He suddenly stood up and made his way towards the door. “Kyle,” asked the masked woman, “just where do you think you’re going?” “I have to catch the next train to Chicago.” With that, he was gone. “What was that all about?” asked the griffon. “It seems that young man has a bone to pick with an old friend,” said the black creature. “Let’s just see how this all pans out,” said the masked woman.
