//------------------------------// // Enter the Magic // Story: The First Pony to Time Travel Without a Spell // by Razor Blade the Unicron //------------------------------// Starlight gulped, and placed down the paper she held in her magic. Twilight had left to do something related to the Cutie Map, leaving Rainbow and Starlight alone in the castle. They had continued their research to make a spell to get rid of Shadow from Rainbow's magic, and it was almost complete. "Clensare," listed Rainbow, as Starlight continued writing down on the paper, "Darcara, sinfara, insentiare, and... Hang on, this one's hard to read... Shad-a-par-a-no-card-re." "How do you spell that?" asked Starlight. "S-h-a-d-a-p-a-r-a-n-o-c-a-r-d-e. I think that's all we need for the spell!" "Uh, shouldn't we wait for Twilight to come back before I cast it?" "I want Shadow gone, and I want them gone now." Starlight looked at the piece of paper in her magic nervously, before giving it to Rainbow. "You should check it over, first!" she said quickly. "It's fine," Rainbow gave the paper back using her magic, "Starlight, there no need for you to worry." "But I've never cast a spell like this one!" "You went back in time! This is nothing in comparison!" Loyalty held Rainbow's Element tightly in her hooves, and turned towards Twilight and the others. You can start now. she said. In the balloon just outside of the Timeline Void, the Elements around their necks began shining brightly. Magic slowly flowed out of them, spiraling and twisting into a line. Luna carefully took the Harmony Rope and gave it to Loyalty, who secured it around the Element of Loyalty. She slowly floated over to the portal to the alternate timeline Rainbow Dash was in, and loosened her grip on the Element. She took in a deep breath that she didn't actually need, but made her feel better, and threw the Element into the lightning bolt, vanishing the moment it touched it. Starlight's horn lit up in its bright blue, and Rainbow's wings glowed red. They both stared at the words on the sheet of paper, as magic began to flow from their respective output points. Rainbow was just able to say that she was ready, when something hit the side of her head. "Ouch!" cried Rainbow, losing concentration. "Are you okay?" asked Starlight. Rainbow looked at what hit her, and her mouth dropped open, "It's my Element of Harmony!" Rainbow's crown had a thin multicolored rope tied to the end of it, which led to a tiny, tiny crack in space and time above the Cutie Map. Rainbow could sense her friends powering the small rope that was holding open the way to the Timeline Void. She picked up her crown, and held it in her hooves. "Your Element of Harmony?" asked Starlight, "But Twilight told that she was the one who had the Element that looked like a crown!" "Alternate timelines, Starlight," said Rainbow simply, "Oh, I am so happy to have Loyalty back!" "You can, uh, go back to your friends now." Rainbow looked up from her Element and stared at Starlight, "What, you think I'm just leaving?" "Why wouldn't you?" Rainbow silently pointed at the piece of paper on the table, holding the words to a powerful spell. "You can use it with your friends!" said Starlight. "None of them, not even my Twilight, have the same magic powers as you, Starlight," said Rainbow, "I need you to cast the spell." "But I can't do it! It's too risky!" "It isn't too risky. Starlight, I need you to help me. Just think of it as... an apology." Starlight looked at Rainbow in confusion, "An apology?" "For creating all of the alternate timelines, whether they had a positive outcome or not." "..." Starlight stood in silence for a bit, "... Okay." Rainbow smiled, and placed her crown on, and Loyalty's voice suddenly sounded in her mind. Rainbow! Yes, Loyalty? thought Rainbow as she and Starlight prepared the spell, again. We need to bring you back sooner than later! Your friends are holding the rope together, so just use your Element and return to your timeline! Not yet. What?!? Why not? We're going to destroy Shadow's magic that remains in me. Wait, what?!? Rainbow turned her attention towards the sheet of paper, and she and Starlight whispered in unison. "Vo k miru strannykh i nechetnogo veshchakh. Clensare. Gde volshebstvo zhivet i protsvetayet, i nikogda ne ostanavlivayetsyak sdelayte pereryv. Darcara. K t'moy i svetom, my vkhodim bez . Sinfara. Insentiare. My priyezzhayem voyti v volshebstvo. Shadaparanocardre." Rainbow, what are you- Everything around Rainbow, except for Starlight, swirled away to inky darkness. The only light that could be seen was coming from their magic, and it illuminated nothing. Slowly, a small light began to shine in the distance. Rainbow felt herself drawn towards it, and approached the light. "Rainbow?" asked Starlight, "Where are you going?" Rainbow didn't respond, and continued walking until she was right beside the light, which she could now see was a bright red that matched the magic shimmering on her wings. Rainbow cut her magic, so all the light that remained was the light in front of her, and Starlight's magic. "Can you make your horn stop glowing?" asked Rainbow softly as Starlight walked up to her. "Are you sure?" asked Starlight nervously. Rainbow nodded, and Starlight cut her magic. As soon as she cut her magic, the red light shone more brightly, and let out a blast of light. Rainbow quickly shielded her eyes, and then uncovered them just as fast. The blast of light had caused eight more dots of light to appear around the one Rainbow was next to. She turned to look at the other lights, as they all began to shine in different colors. There was a small sized light in turquoise; medium sized lights in purple, pink, yellow, green, and dark blue; medium-large lights in green-yellow and magenta; and a large light, nowhere near as large as the red light in the center, in light blue. Above the red light, there was a patch of darkness, that somehow seemed darker than the areas around it. "My magic..." whispered Rainbow, "These all represent parts of my magic..." "That's a lot of magic," whispered back Starlight nervously, "How do you even have this many different colors?" Rainbow chose to not answer Starlight's question, as the darkness shifted to bright whiteness. The only area that remained dark was right above the red light in the center, and Rainbow could tell that it was Shadow's magic. The dark area slowly shifted into the shape of an alicorn, and Rainbow's eyes narrowed. "Rainbow Dash..." hissed a familiar voice from within the darkness, "You've finally come..." the alicorn's eyes snapped open, pure darkness flowing out of them, "I'm so glad you made it easier."
