//------------------------------// // "No, I'm fine! I don't need your help!" // Story: Wounded // by RandomHumanBeging4112 //------------------------------// Rainbow Dash was sitting at her desk, looking at the clock, counting dow the last couple of seconds until school ended. Five, four, three, two, Rainbow thought before she yelled, "ONE!" Dash yelled as the bell rang. Before the teacher could even scold her, she was already at her locker. She took out the rest of her things and was about to run out of the building when she heard a voice. "Pretty impressive "dash" there, but not as fast as I could have done it." she heard the male voice say. "Ugh, really, Soarin? I don't have time to listen to you taunt me, I'm trying to avoid my friends." Dash said as she turned around. "Oh, really, what was it this time? Did Shutterfly break a nail and you called her crazy? Or did Jackiepie not listen to you because she had her nose in a book?" Soarin asked with a smirk. "Ugh. I'm not gonna even bother correcting you today, all I can say is, I need to go and blow off some steam." Dash said as she brushed past Soarin. "Uh-huh! Okay!" he said as he ran off in the other direction. Rainbow ran out of the giant school building and headed toward one of her favorite places, Horseshoe Park. On the way there, Rainbow saw everything that she had expected to see. Construction sites buzzing with life, children running home, desperate to get away from school, teens waiting at bus stops, it was the normal for Dash, when she finally made it to the park, she noticed that the park was completely empty. "Perfect." she muttered. "Perfect time for some drills." Dash had almost made her way over to the small soccer field when she noticed a familiar someone sitting on a branch of the old oak tree. She sighed and looked up at the boy in the tree. "Really, Soarin? I thought you went back to the little hole that you call your home." she spat. "I would've, but I couldn't pass up a chance to beat you at soccer again." he said as he jumped off of the branch. "How did you know I was gonna be here?' "Well, when you said that you wanted to blow off some steam, I immediately knew that you were coming here to practice. Everybody knows that that's where you go when you blow off steam." he answered as he walked onto the field. "And why do you want to "beat" me?" she asked as she took a soccer ball out of her backpack. "Because, I love to see that look on your face when I beat you. And if you don't except the challenge, I'll tell the school you're a wimp." he threatened as he circled around her. "Fine, first to five goals wins, how about that?" Dash asked as if Soarin had a choice. "Sure." he said as he took his side of the field. Dash took hers and the game began. It was a pretty long game, every time Soarin was about to get a goal, Dash would steel the ball away from him and score. Soarin managed to tie up with Rainbow, but Rainbow was not having it. They both had four, and Dash was determined to win. Just as she was about to score the winning goal, she tripped on a rock and twisted her ankle. She fell to ground and watched as Soarin took the ball and scored the winning goal. Dash tried to get up and tell him that it wasn't fair because she fell, but her ankle hurt too much for her to stand. "Ha! I won! You lost again! Soarin Skies for president 2020!" he yelled as he jumped up and down, not noticing that his opponent was hurt. "Well, I would have won if I hadn't tripped over a rock and BROKE MY ANKLE!" Rainbow yelled in an annoyed tone. "Oh, sorry, do you want me to carry you over to the bench over there?" he asked as he offered her a hand that she quickly swatted away. "I'm fine. Just take my phone out of my backpack and hand it to me so I can call my mom." Dash said as she pointed to her backpack. "Soarin walked over to the bench where her backpack was on and took her one out. He handed it to her and she swiped it out of his hand quickly. "Thank you, now let's see-oh no, my phone's dead! Can I use yours?" she asked as she put her phone back into her backpack. "No-can-do, mine's dead too. Do you want me to get you too the hospital? Or do you want ti sit here until someone else finds you?" Soarin asked. "Fine, how far away is the hospital again?" Rainbow asked as Soarin helped her up, Dash found that she had to lean against Soarin to be able to limp in the slightest bit. "About five miles, we might be able to catch a bus or a cab but if not, we'll have to walk the whole way." Soarin said as he started to walk Dash to the bus stop. When they made it to the stop, Soarin sat Rainbow down on the bench and gave her some water. He noticed a sign that said: BUS STOP OUT OF SERVICE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE "Just our luck, the bus won't be coming until further notice, and I don't think that we'd be able to catch a cab right now, it's 'spose to snow." Soarin said as he sat down on the bench next to Dash. "Well, I guess we'll have to walk, as much as I would hate to except help from the likes of you, I need to get to the hospital before my mom calls the police and says that I'm missing." Dash said as she turned to her mortal enemy. "Well, okay. Here take my hand, I'll carry you." Soarin said as he stood up. "I can just lean on your side for now." Dash said as she tried to lean on Soarin, but found that he needed to hold her shoulder for her to even limp. "Alright, hospital, here we come!" Soarin yelled as he began to run, causing Rainbow to yelp. "Oh, right. Sorry!" Soarin said profusely. "You'd better be." Dash said as they began their long journey to the hospital. The first hour of walking was okay, Soarin and Rainbow Dash talked and found that they a lot of things in common. Rainbow's ankle really hurt, but she was distracted for most of the time by talking to Soarin. On the inside, Dash felt a little awkward because it felt nice have to lean on Soarin, she could feel the heat from his body radiate onto hers, and he was one of the strongest people at school, so it felt really weird being able to feel his muscles. About halfway though the downtown area, it started to snow really hard. Rainbow had remembered that she had left her coat in her backpack that was in the park, and that was when she started to shiver. "You cold?" Soarin asked. "Maybe." "Here, take my coat." Soarin said as he unzipped his jacket and handed it to Dash. "Thanks, I'm glad that you're considerate, unlike my friends." Dash said under her breath. "Yeah, I've been meaning to ask you about that. What happened with your friends today?" Soarin asked. "Well, it started at lunch when I wanted to go sit with the soccer team. They wanted me to sit with them, even though I'm the captain, and we have a game on Friday. They got really mad and called me inconsiderate of their feelings. They all wanted to kick me out of the group because I wasn't sitting with them enough, even though they know that I don't sit with them when we have a game coming up." Dash said in a huff. "Wow, that doesn't sound like them, do you know why they would say something like that?" Soarin asked. "No, but it might be due to the fact that they all have a significant other, and I don't, but it still doesn't make sense. The only thing that I could think of would be that the Dazzlings are back, but even that doesn't sound very logical." Dash said. "Well, now I feel kinda bad for not letting you blow off the steam that you need to, I just thought that it was for some petty girl reason." Soarin said. "No, it's alright, that game let me blow off all of the steam that I needed to. Well, until a broke my ankle of course." Dash said as set wrapped herself in Soarin's coat. "Good, now which way do we go? Oh look! A payphone! Maybe we can call 911 and get you to the hospital!" Soarin said as he quickly walked over to the payphone. As Soarin was bout to take out a quarter, a pink figure rushed in front of him, stole his only quarter, and put it in the phone and started talking. Dash immediately recognized the figure and called out her name. "Pinkie Pie! What are you doing?! We need that quarter, I broke my ankle and we need to call 911 so I can get to the hospital!" Rainbow said. "Oh, I'm sorry, but I don't talk to inconsiderate jocks anymore, now move along, I'm on the phone!" Pinkie said as she pushed Dash to the ground, hurting her ankle even more. Dash let out a yelp as Soarin helped her and then proceeded to tell Pinkie off, demanding her to give him another quarter to use the payphone. Pinkie reluctantly hung up and gave Soarin a quarter so he could call 911. He called, and they said that they would be over in a bit. Soarin sat Dash down on a nearby bench and sat down next to her, snow still falling gently. "Why did Pinkie Pie just totally diss you?" Soarin asked suddenly. "I don't know. I guess it was because she thought that I sent her a text calling her a freak that only wants to party. And Twilight and Sunset thought I sent them e-mails saying that they never even stop to pay attention to my awesomeness, Rarity thinks that I called her a set-centered diva, Applejack thinks that I hate it when she beats me and I throw darts at her picture on the wall, and don't even get me started on what Fluttershy thinks I did." Rainbow ranted. "Why would they think that?" Soarin asked. "Because someone actually did those things. Someone hacked into my e-mail, and stole my phone, and started a chain of gossip about me." Dash said. "Wow, that sounds pretty tough. I think I might know who did it. It was Misty Fly, she's been talking behind your back all the time, and I also saw her with a phone in a case that looked a lot like hers, sand last, but not least, I noticed that when she found your password book, instead of giving it back to you right away, she shuffled through it." Soarin said. "That little biscuit, I can't believe her, ugh!How am I supposed to get out of this?!" "Don't worry, after the whole passwords book, I told Principal Celestia. She has the whole thing sorted out. Hey, I think I cann see the ambulance!" Soarin said as he lept up and waved his arms, signaling the ambulance. The ambulance drove over and the people got Dash on a stretcher and Soarin hopped in the front. They made it safely to the hospital where both Dash, and Soarin's parents were waiting. Rainbow was diagnosed with a broken ankle and had to where a cast for six weeks. He parents thanked and praised Soarin so many times that night. Rainbow's mother teased her and told Soarin to take care of her daughter. And her father said the same thing, except in a much more dad-like tone. "Dad! He's not my boyfriend! Just four hours ago we were mortal enemies!" Rainbow said as both she and Soarin blush profusely. "Oh please, we both know that you are going to get married at some point in life." her dad said. "Dad! I'm serious!" Rainbow yelled from her hospital bed. "Well, hi serious! I'm Soarin! Nice to meet you! Have you seen my friend slash new crush Rainbow Dash? She was just here a minute ago!" Soarin said through fits of laughter. "Oh, so my good, good, friend Rainbow Dash is your new crush, is she now. Well. I guess you'll be pleased to know that she like you too." Dash said, stifling laughter. "Well, good. I was scared that we would go back to being enemies after this whole ordeal. But I guess not. maybe her dad was right, maybe we will end getting married at some point. But right now, I want to at least be in a relationship with her, could ya tell her that?" Soarin said, almost laughing his butt off. "Sure. Come'er ya big goof." Dash said as she pulled Soarin in for the most magical, romantic, heart-racing hug ever. Then she kissed him. Well, at least these six weeks won't be boring, I have a boyfriend to spend them with now. Well, more like a goofy, adorable, guy who likes me as well. Rainbow thought.
