//------------------------------// // New Girl and Proposition // Story: Gold's Canterlot Survival Guide // by goldenrise365 //------------------------------// Same old, same old. Running from the bully, hanging out with friends, and just surviving a normal day. That's until someone new comes into school. I was talking with Flash when a girl with purple skin and dark purple hair bumped into him. She was acting a little strange. When Flash offered her a hand, she had a fist and then slowly release it. When she got up, she was wobbly on her feet. "Thanks." She looked around her like the place was another world. She walked off after that. I closed my locker and smiled. "Smooth move casanova." "Shut up man. It looked like she was trying to get somewhere." Flash closed his locker. "See you later, Gold. Maybe you'll run into that new girl." "Yeah, but the ladies don't throw themselves all over me." I started running when Flash began throwing pencils as me. "That's was still weird. It was like she never saw people before." I pulled out my phone and looked through my messages. There were a few from Rarity. Rarity: Hello darling. Do you think we can talk about something by the statue? Me: Sure. I'll meet you after school. I put my phone away and turned down another hallway. I saw Normal Norman hiding in a locker, Fluttershy in a corner, and the new girl standing against Sunset. "Better diffuse this situation." I walked out so the others could see me. "That's enough Shimmer." Sunset moved her head so she could see me. She scoffed. "Fine, hero boy." She turned back to the new girl. "This isn't over Twilight Sparkle." She stormed off after that. "Well that was that." I helped Fluttershy stand back up, and pulled Norman out of his locker. I turned to the new girl. "I don't think we formally met. I'm Golden Rise, and I think I got your name from Sunset." "Its nice to meet you Gold," she said with a smile. I turned to the other two. "Flutters, Norm, you two ok?" "Were fine," said Norman. "Thanks for the save." "No problem. Just glad I was here to stop an attack." I rubbed my arm. After the incident, I went to class and waited for the end of the day. When classes ended, I gathered my books and packed up for the day. I walked outside and looked around, but didn't see Rarity. I saw most of the students move away from the statue. "That's odd. What's making them do that?" I got my answer when Sunset walked towards me. "Hello Rise." "What are you doing here Shimmer?" "I'm just here to see if you want to join me?" "That will be the day I sprout wings and fly. There's nothing you can do to me to use me." I started walking away. "What about protecting the girls?" Sunset held up her phone. "What do you mean?" Her comment got my attention. "I have some pictures and information that will make a certain group of girls very upset." "You wouldn't." "What's stopping me? All I have to do is press upload and it will all be out there." "Nice try. I can easily delete them before most of the school sees." "But can you get rid of hundreds of copies." My expression said it all. "Just as I thought. Now here's what I want you to do. When Rarity ask you to go to the Fall Formal with her, you say no. No excuses or reasoning. Just say no to her. Got it?" I thought over my two options. If I broke Rarity' s heart, I may lose all my friends. But if I don't, then my friends will most likely become humiliated. I was apparently taking to long, because Sunset shoved the upload screen with the folders in my face. I sighed with defeat. "Fine. I'll keep my end of the deal, as long as you delete those files after I do." "I can do that." We shook hands and went our separate ways. "May my soul be pure after this." I waited outside and Rarity came walking out. She smiled and ran over. "She never runs for anything." "Hello Gold. I'm glad you could make it." She started twirling her hair. 'She's really nervous. But why would she. It's not like I'm special.' "I was wondering if you would like to accompany me to the dance?" She had the most pleading eyes. I looked up and saw Sunset with her finger over the upload button. I took in a sharp breath, and did what I had to do. "No, Rarity." "What do you mean, darling?" Sunset kept the threat up. "I can't say why. But the answer is no Rarity." I could see her heart break just like mine. "I should've known," she said coldly. "I knew you couldn't be trusted. I thought you were against Sunset, but you were working for her." I could say nothing. "Well goodbye Rise." She walked off with her head low. Sunset walked up to me with a smile. "Good boy, but for extra precaution, I will keep the files. Well enjoy yourself." She bumped into me as she walked away. "That was your mistake." I pulled out Sunset's phone and smiled. "Let's fix this." I took out a paper and wrought a small note. "This note will be explain everything." I walked back into the school, and dropped the note and phone into Rarity' s locker. "Hope she believes me."
