The Belle of a Nightmare

Chapter 5


As the smoke clears up, the rest gets up and gasp in horror to see Sweetie belle’s new look. Sweetie was now as tall as Princess Luna. Her once pure white coat was now a dark gray color. Her mane and tail was long and had the mix of dark purple, pink and grey in it, as well with little shining twinkling stars. Her cutie mark was dark with little cracks on its shield. Her eye’s were now a brighter green and sharpen, almost of that when Luna was Nightmare moon.
“Hehehehe….” ‘Sweetie’ chuckled, her voice now darkened.
“S-Sweetie Belle?......” Rarity says, scared of what has now happen to her sister. She takes a couple of steps forward to her ‘sister’.
“Rarity, Don’t!” Twilight shouts to her. Twilight quickly trots over to her, But Luna beats to her first. Luna puts a wing in front of Rarity, blocking her.
“I'm sorry miss Rarity but that isn’t your sister right now!” Luna shouts, Angrily looking at this ‘Sweetie’.
“Oh come now luna, we used to be the same pony.” ‘Sweetie’ says then chuckles.
“Though I suppose I’ll need a new name, after I'm no longer Sweetie Belle, or rather she’s no longer in control. Just call me…. Nightmare Belle.” Nightmare Belle says with a sickening grin.
“Nightmare! how dare thou take over Sweetie Belle! Tell me why nightmare!” Luna shouts in anger.
“Now, Now, Luna, know why, finish what we began!” Nightmare says.
“That was YOUR plan and not mine! And if YOUR NEW plan is to use Sweetie to get my body back then I--”
“Ha! Who said I would use this great new body to get your old one back? You had your chance luna, now it's time for a new AGE!” Nightmare cuts Luna off.
“But why, why my sister?!” Rarity shouts tears in her eye’s.
“Because dear Rarity, No pony will need her anymore, After all you said it yourself, she’s grown to be a young mare, just another mare in this big world of ours, the world doesn't need another useless mare, its needs a true Ruler, a true Queen! And I’ll make sure that she’ll-- no, WE’LL get what with ever we want. And not in the shadow of a greedy sister.” Nightmare says. At this point Rarity is crying, wanting her little sister back.
“Hey! You better give us Sweetie back or I’ll--”   
“Or you’ll what? You can’t hurt me.” Rainbow says, ready to pounce, but is cut off by Nightmare.
“Oh yeah? well we’ll see about that!” Rainbow says, hovering in the air then tries to fly at Nightmare. 
“Rainbow Dash!” Twilight shouts.
Luna stops Rainbow dash by using her magic to pull her back. Rainbow looks back at Lna with an angry but confused look.
“Miss Rainbow, I'm afraid Nightmare is right, if we try to harm her, we’ll harm the real Sweetie Belle!” Luna explains.
“That’s right! Hehehe! Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some work to do!” Nightmare says. Before anypony to do anything Nightmare horn lights up and in a flash, has teleported somewhere else.
“Where’d she go?!” Rainbow says, ready to fly anywhere.
“I don’t know-- wait a minute! How’d she teleport?! I haven’t taught Sweetie how to teleport at all yet!” Twilight says, freaking out, then looks at Luna.
“Nightmare’s magic and knowledge must have combined with Sweetie magic and knowledge!” Luna says. 
“AHHH!!!”  Suddenly they hear a scream coming from somewhere in the castle. Twilight recognizes that scream anywhere.
“Spike?!” Twilight says. She runs out the room and into the hallway. The others quickly follow behind her.
“TWILIGHT!!” They hear Spike scream somewhere in the castle again Twilight quickly a quick minute to listen to where he is.
“Everypony hang on!” Twilight says as her horn lights up. With a swirl of magic and a flash, The ponies are now in the library of the castle. The ponies turn to see spike trapped in a magical bubble.
“Spike!” Twilight runs to spike.
“I hope you don’t mind, but…..” They all turn to see Nightmare Belle holding a couple of books with her magic.
“Finder Keepers, Losers Weepers~!” She sings. Princess Luna an angered quickly aims magic at Nightmare which turns a magical net. However Nightmare throws a book at it. The book gets caught in the net and falls to the ground. Nightmare chuckles. Her horn lights up once.
“N-No! S-Sweetie Belle! Please!” Fearing for the worst, Rarity pushes Luna out of the way and run towards Nightmare. Nightmare face darkens as the magic around Nightmare Belle becomes dark. Then suddenly blast of the dark magic shots right at Rarity.
“AHHHH!!” Rarity screams as she is blasted back.
“RARITY!!” They all scream. They all run up to rarity as Twilight finally gets Spike out of the bubble trap. Slowly Rarity tries to get up from the blast however she falls back down as pain spreads throughout her body. She looks up at Nightmare Belle. Nightmare turns around and horn lights up again. She closes her eyes then looks back at Rarity.
“I do not need you, as you do not need me.” Nightmare says then in a flash she disappears. Rarity disheartened looks down to the ground. Spike runs over to Rarity.
“R-Rarity! Are you ok? Are you hurt?” He asks in a soft voice.
“Physically, I'm quite alright, Spikey….” She slowly gets up. Tear streams down her face.
“I just want my little sister back….” She says in low voice.

“I really hope Sweetie is ok…..” Scootaloo as she looks out the window of the CMC clubhouse. Outside of the window, the sun is slowly going down and sky color becomes a bit darker. Meanwhile Applebloom is trotting around in circles. Scootaloo signs.
“Applebloom, you really need to calm down, I'm sure Twilight and others have the situation handled.” she says. Through the truth was that Scootaloo was freaking out on the inside.
“But what if it isn’t! Ah can’t help but to feel that way!” Applebloom says then sits down. Just as Scootaloo was about to say something, they hear a knock at the door. They look at each other  then trot to the door. Applebloom opens the door to see a normal Sweetie Belle right there with a backpack.
“Hi girls! I'm soooo glad to see you guys! You have no idea what I’ve been through!” she says.
“S-Sweetie Belle! Oh thank goodness you're alright!” Scootaloo says with relief.
“Yeah! We were worried about ya, Mah Sis and Rainbow told us that something was wrong!” Applebloom says, even though in truth they really didn’t tell and she knew there was trouble when they asked about Sweetie Belle.
“Oh well there was a bit of trouble but it’ fine now! Anyways I was wondering if you girls could help me with something!” Sweetie says with a grin. Slowly, Applebloom gets a bit suspicious.
“With what?” She asks.
“Well, I need some help putting this back wear it belongs!” Sweetie says as she pulls out the piece of nightmare moons armor.
“Wait, you mean…. Put Nightmare moon’s armor back in the old castle?” Scootaloo asks. Sweetie nods.
“Yes! Now come on! I know a shortcut!” She says then trots away. Applebloom and Scootaloo look at each other then follow behind.

“Twilight, what are we going to do? That Nightmare is somewhere out there planin’ who knows what!” Applejack says while she, Twilight, Rainbow, and Pinkie surround a table in the library of the castle. In the corner Fluttershy is help Rarity recover from the magical bast. Princess Luna had gone back to canterlot to raise the moon and look through the dreamscape for Nightmare Belle. Meanwhile Spike tries to find out what books Nightmare had taken.
“I don’t know, Applejack. We are dealing with ,well, something new, this isn’t some random mad pony that’s been possessed, this is Rarity little sister! WE could try using the Elements of harmony, but they are back with the tree and I fear if we take them away again, it's only going cause more problems and we don’t know what kind of effect it would have on Sweetie!” Twilight says.
“What do you mean, what kind of effect? When used them on Luna, she turned back to normal!” Rainbow says.
“Yes, but that was AFTER she got hit with the Elements a second time, The first time when they hit her, it sent her straight to them MOON! And don’t forget they also put Discord in stone as well. I don’t want put that risk on Sweetie, you heard what luna said, if we try anything, it might harm the real Sweetie belle.” Twilight says with a heavy heart. The other look at each other, fear dread on their faces. Twilight sighs then looks over towards Rarity. Rarity blankly stared at a wall, no emotion, just nothing on that blank face.
“We just got to keep searching for a way. No matter what.” Twilight says as she turns back to the others. The others nod in agreement.
“Uhhhh T-Twilight! I think you might want to take a look at this!” Spike says in a scared voice. Twilight quickly trots over to Spike. The others quickly follow behind her.
“Spike, what is--” Twilight cuts herself off as she see’s glass on the floor. She looks ahead of her to see, that glass of her dangerous spells and books case was broken into.
“Nonononono!” She quickly says then looks through the books.
“Starlight’s time spell, here…… Dark curses, check…... .. Dark Legends, check……” She says. Suddenly horror creeps upon her face.
“NONONONONONONO!!!” She starts to freak out.
“Twilight! Calm down, just what in the hay’ did nightmare take?” Applejack says and puts a hoof on Twilight.
“S-she took Starswirl's old Spell book!!” She says.

Dusk comes closer and closer as the CMC make their way through the Everfree forest. Sweetie takes lead as Scootaloo and Applebloom take behind. Applebloom suspension grows with every step they take.
“Hey, Scootaloo….” Applejack quietly says to her friend beside her.
“Yeah?” Scootaloo says back.
“I think somethin’ is….. Off about Sweetie Belle.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well….. Sweetie eye’s look kinda different. They are more….. Greener and Sharper. And was it me, or did the piece of armor look kinda different? Like not the same one.” Applebloom says, looking at Sweetie Belle ahead of them.
“Well, now that you mention it….. Yeah I kinda notice too. What are gong to do about it?” Scootaloo asks.
“Well, we’re about to find out…” Applebloom says as they finally get to old castle. Sweetie stops at the front steps.
“Ah, we’re finally here! How about you girls head in first, you girls have to see some of the remodeling Rarity and the others have done.” Sweetie says with a smile.
“Yeah know Sweetie, I don’t think we should go in.” Applebloom says with a stern voice. Sweetie drops her smile.
“Why not?” She says.
“Y’ah don’t think we’ve notice how weird ya bein acting?! And how ya look kinda different?! Tell me the truth right now!” Applebloom snaps and stomps her hoof to the ground. Sweetie Belle blinks then signs
“I was hoping to do this inside, but….. I guess right here is good.” Sweetie voice suddenly changed. In a sudden swirl of magic Sweetie Belle changed into her much more darker self, Nightmare belle. Applebloom ad Scootaloo gasp. Before they could say anything, They grip hold of a spell and can’t not move. Suddenly their hooves becomes stone. This stone spell slowly grows up their legs. Horror grows on their face as to what is happening.
“S-Sweetie! Stop this! Please!” Scootaloo shouts. However Nightmare only laughs.
“S-Sweetie Belle, no, WHO EVER YOU ARE! Please! Why are you doing this?!” Applebloom cries out.
“Because my dearie, I need to make sure that no pony gets in my way. Even you two, besides, you’ll make a great distraction to get the others off of my hooves.” Nightmare chuckles. Both Applebloom and Scootaloo scream.
“Hahha! Oh I how about a little singing before you're completely stoned? After all, what’s a mare going to do, when I turn the world into complete darkness!! HAHAHA!!” Nightmare laughs. The filles look upon with horror as now the spell has spread up to their neck.
“Shadows trapped behind stones in this world~” Nightmare sings.
 “Need to run rampant and Free!~”
“Predators live on the prey they pursue!~”
“Of course the predator is ME!~”
“Darkness my sweetest desire~”
“Fills my whole soul with it's curse!
“Burning with primitive fire,~”
“Berserk and perverse!~” The spell completed, and now Applebloom and Scootaloo are completely stone.
   “Tonight, I’ll Plunder all them blind,~”
“Steal away their Fate!~” Nightmare pulls out Starswirl's old book.
“Tonight I’ll take from all Ponykind,~”
“Destinies I shall taint!~”
“And I feel, I’ll live on forever!~”
“With Darkness itself by my side!~” 
“And I'll show the world~”
“That tonight and forever,~”
“The name to remember~”
“On this Glorious of Nights!~”
“What a feeling to be so alive!~”
“I have never seen me so alive!~”
“Once an empty Shell~”
“But now I am the one called~”
“Nightmare Belle~!” Nightmare evilly laughs.
