Fluttershy was in bed, rolling around. She flickered her heavy eyes as she woke up. A thought crossed her mind, well, more like a reminder, that today was the first day of December! Jolting herself awake out of excitement for the new day and the advent calendar, she trotted down the stairs.... After putting on her green and red striped socks of course.
She had put the advent calendar in the right corner when you walk in. She then gently opened up one of the little doors on the advent calendar that had the number 1 on it, and what was inside was a little candy. After all, advent calendars have little goodies inside the doors of when you buy them, and since Fluttershy loved Hearth's Warming, she has decided to make a tradition of always doing the advent calendar. Fluttershy gently grabbed the candy with a snow-patterned wrapper and smiled as she realized it was peppermint! She then put the delicious candy in her mouth and sucked on it as she tidied up around the cottage.
When she came across the closest window, she gasped (and nearly choked) at the weather outside! It was completely white. Fluttershy wiped the window and she was amazed at the sudden change of weather outside from yesterday to today! The winds were very fast and the flakes outside were being tossed and turned. She bet that if anypony were to stand out there, they wouldn't be able to see the ground underneath their hooves, much less before being blown to the ground.
Fluttershy then saw that she had left open the window above the couch, allowing snow to fall in. She quickly shut it by standing on her hind legs. "Now no wonder it was so cold." Fluttershy spoke out loud. She wondered how she would ever clean up the snow off Discord's favorite couch.
"Oh Discord! Where could he be? Is he lost?! I hope he is alright." Fluttershy hardly cared if anyone listened to her thoughts spoken aloud or the fact that anyone would care that she even cared about Discord. All she wanted right now, was for her to see Discord safe and sound. She was so wrapped up in her thoughts that she didn't even hear a poof sound that came from behind her.
"Wow! This year's weather team really got it going early this year! Heh, they got me covered in snow from antler to hoof!" Said a male with a very optimistic voice.
Fluttershy could not believe her ears. Was, was that...
"Discord?" Fluttershy questioned as she turned around. What she saw was a very goofy looking snowmare, or rather, snow-draconequus.
"Hey Fluttershy! Don't I look just like the Yetti? Or possibly, the abominable snowmare?! Ooh, nice socks." Discord exclaimed, but of course made Fluttershy blush at the end.
"Maybe, maybe you look like it, for I have no idea what they both look like, but, um, thank you for the compliment." Fluttershy had to hide behind her mane for she started blushing like crazy again. Her face was as red as a ripe apple.
"You're welcome my dear. Well, now that I think about it, you should wear those more often, they look good on you." Discord then looked over to what Fluttershy was staring at while he was talking, and it appeared she was staring at the couch that had snow. When Discord sighed, Fluttershy snapped out of her gaze and immediately told him of what happened to his "beloved" couch.
Discord understood and said, "Oh, I see." Then he magically made a brush and tray appear and he started sweeping the snow off the couch and putting it though a portal that lead to the outside and then threw the tray and brush along with it. When he closed it, he heard Fluttershy's stomach growling so he made a breakfast buffet appear out of nowhere.
"Discord! You don't ha-" Fluttershy was interrupted by Discord's sing-songy voice.
"Oh, but I can!"
Fluttershy knew that she couldn't reject already-made food, and with Discord himself! When the thought crossed her mind, she thought she couldn't get any redder, but she was wrong. Even though she was a Pegasus, she would have sworn that she had turned into a tomato or strawberry from all the sudden blushing. After Discord passed her by grabbing a plate and started piling up his plate, Fluttershy decided to grab some food like Discord was.
"Lets see, French toast, pancakes, waffles, ooh! Discord there is just so many things to choose from!" Fluttershy exclaimed about all the food.
"I know! It's going to be good, I can definitely promise you that." By the time Fluttershy finished decorating her plate, Discord was done with a plate stacked up with so many different foods that was as tall as Fluttershy herself! Her jaw dropped because of it. Discord was fully aware of Fluttershy's look on her face, so he gently took his eagle finger and closed her mouth, but let it linger underneath her chin. Fluttershy's face got hot again due to the amount of blood going to her face and tried to avoid eye contact with Discord for the fear of blushing like crazy again. Yet as odd it may sound, it was really hard for Fluttershy to look up at Discord's face once more, but was nearly impossible to look back down after she did. She just couldn't help but stare at Discord's golden and ruby colored eyes. She breathed in awe at how a creature that was thought to be so ugly, could be a creature, so handsome.
"Fluttershy, do you brush your teeth before you eat breakfast? Beccause your breath smells minty!"
Fluttershy just hid behind her mane because she was blushing again. She tried to reply but Discord beat her to it.
"So you do brush your teeth before you eat breakfast?"
Fluttershy had to giggle at the way Discord said that, for she also did the opposite of what he claimed that she did.
"No I don't Discord, I just ate a mint!" Fluttershy's giggles slowly stopped and was replaced by a smile of genuine affection.
"So you ate a mint, because you were sooooo hungry that you couldn't wait for breakfast?" Discord enquired.
No silly, I had the advent calendar! You see?" Fluttershy pointed with her hoof to the wooden bird-themed calendar with little doors everywhere.
"Oh! That makes much more sense! I knew though, that you were just so excited for my excellent cooking!" Discord said very proudly to Fluttershy.
"You made this all by yourself without magic?" Fluttershy exclaimed.
"Ehh... no. But I did make this!" Discord teleported their plates to the table then made a purple hat with green and yellow swirls and a fluff ball at the end, appear. Fluttershy was amazed by Discord's work and the fact that he did the whole thing without using magic.
"Discord, I'm so proud of you." Fluttershy hugged Discord, who did not hesitate to wrap his mismatched arms around his true love.
On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me, a great big breakfast buffet!!!
