Rainbow Dash and Pitch screamed as they both keep falling from the sky. Then, after a while, the screaming stopped. Pitch glared at Rainbow Dash. "This is all your fault!", he said. "Thanks to you, we now see what happens when we fall off the island."
"How is this my fault, what did I do?", Rainbow Dash asked.
"You know.", Pitch said. "You were trying to steal something."
"Hey, you realized that Lightning Dust was the villain, didn't you?", Rainbow Dash asked. "But, don't blame me for this, this is actually Lightning's fault."
"Are you serious?", Pitch asked. "What did she do?"
"She made a tornado and it almost killed my friends, I would never so something like that.", Rainbow Dash said.
"Well, I don't know what to say about that.", Pitch said.
Rainbow Dash looked down and gasped. She saw a huge lake surrounded by sand. "I can see land and a lake down there!", she said.
"Impossible.", Pitch said. "How?"
"Aim for the lake!", Rainbow Dash commanded. They both hovered over the water, then they splashed through it. "We're alive!"
They swam out of the lake and shook dry. "I don't understand.", Pitch said. "How is this possible?"
"That just doesn't take us to alternate universes, it could only take us to places in the sky.", Rainbow Dash examined. She looked up in the sky, not knowing how long it would take for them to fly back up. "We got to get back up there."
"Well, now that we're in a different place, you can fly back up there by yourself.", Pitch said.
"What? I can't go back up there by myself, I need somepony to help me.", Rainbow Dash said.
"No, your helping yourself.", Pitch said. "I'm not flying ever again."
"Why won't you fly?", Rainbow Dash asked.
"I swore to myself I'll never fly again.", Pitch said.
"WHY WOULD YOU SWEAR TO YOURSELF YOU'LL NEVER FLY AGAIN?!", Rainbow Dash snapped.
"BECAUSE, FLYING KILLED MY MOM!", Pitch snapped back.
Rainbow gasped. So did Bryan and Spike who appeared out of nowhere. Rainbow Dash looked at the two surprised. "What, I can't gasp every once an while?", Spike asked.
"Sweet mother of Celestia. Spike, you're ok to?", Rainbow Dash asked.
"Of course, I did.", Spike said. "I saw this pony fall into the lake and waved to him."
"And he showed this place called... Ponyville. Is that right?", Bryan asked.
"Yes it is.", Spike said. "And she's saying I can't gasp for a reason, that's just sad."
Rainbow Dash looked at Pitch's sad face. He was sitting on the ground looking down.
"How did flying kill your mom?", the rainbow Pegasus asked.
"I was the one who was flying.", Pitch said. "I lived on this land before I went up there, I rammed into something and it caused her to get crushed, I was so depressed about it for a whole week."
"Why were you depressed about it for a whole week?", Rainbow Dash asked.
"I loved her so much.", Pitch said. "She was my whole world."
Pitch had a lot of memories with his mom. Every morning, Pitch would get on her bed and try to wake her up and go out and have some fun. Pitch likes riding on his mom's back while she flies. Every night, him and his mom would sit under his blankets on his bed and read stories. Pitch loved his mom so much, he closes his eyes when he sits next to her when they go to places. They go to the park to have his mom push him while he's on the tire swing, he sometimes jumps off, land on his mom and starts tickling her belly. Every Fall when there's a huge leaf pile, they jump in it together. Pitch learned how to fly, he got very excited he started to fly randomly, but, he accidently bumped into a rock and caused it to crush his own mom. He walked lonely around Ponyville hearing some ponies talking about what happened to his mom. When he's sad, he lays down in his room. His mom's spirit patted him on the head, he looks up and takes her hoof, then she vanishes. He walked to a cemetery and found his mom's tombstones, he puts his hoof on it and remembers all those times he had with his mom. When he stares at it for a while, he lays down right in front of it.
Rainbow Dash felt sorry for the poor green Pegasus. "That's one of the saddest stories I've ever heard.", she said. "I never knew you lived in my home town."
"When I found a key to Pegasus Sky Island, I opened up a portal and took myself there.", Pitch said. "Other ponies, they weren't so lucky."
"I was never a lucky dragon when I never knew my family.", Spike said. "I was given to Twilight as an egg and she fed and sheltered me."
"I wish she was here to see me fly, then she would've been proud of me.", Pitch said.
Rainbow Dash put her hoof on his shoulder. "She will be if you fly.", she said.
Pitch sighed and stood back up. He flapped his wings three times and his hooves were lifted off the ground. He smiled "Thank you, Rainbow Dash, let's go save your friends.", he said.
Spike tried to get on Rainbow Dash's back, but she wouldn't let him. "Spike, I want you to stay here.", she said.
"What? But, I want to help.", Spike said.
"I don't want your help, I want you safe.", Rainbow Dash said. Then, she flew off.
Bryan flapped his wings and lifted himself nine feet in the air. "Listen to your friend.", he said.
The three Pegasus ponies flew into the air to go back to Pegasus Sky Island.
Spike watched and worried. "Be careful, Rainbow.", he said.
