//------------------------------// // Chapter 1- The Birth of a Legend- Newborn // Story: Project Stardust // by Starry Wisp //------------------------------// It was an unusually brisk summer night, which typically only happened before strange events in this world of Equestria. The date was June, the 28th to be exact. The two ponies rushed to the Glimmerville Hospital, as Moonflower, a cerulean blue earth pony mare with a purple and light blue mane and tail, with a crescent moon with a hibiscus in it for a Cutie Mark, and Proud Sky, a navy blue earth pony stallion, with a short dark blue mane and tail, and three white stars for a Cutie Mark, were soon to be parents. Immediately inside, Moonflower Sky got rushed onto a stretcher, and into a room. Once Proud Sky arrived at her room after checking in, the baby foal had already been born. But something appeared to be wrong, all the nurses and doctors were in a state of panic. Moonflower was very concerned for her new foal. Murmurs of “What do we do?” and “How is this possible?” flooded the hospital. “All right, everypony! What’s wrong with my foal!” Proud Sky shouted with a puzzled, yet stern voice. The hospital went silent. Finally the head nurse spoke up. “She’s an- alicorn….” Moonflower and Proud Sky gasped. “But how? Our family ancestry only consists of earth ponies on both sides! This isn’t possible! Are you sure this is our foal?” Moonflower questioned. “I’m positive, Moonflower. This is indeed your filly. If you want more proof, you can ask the doctor, or even check if wings or a horn showed up on an ultrasound.” Moonflower sighed, and looked at the beautiful foal in her arms. “No, I believe you. She’s adorable.” Moonflower took her hoof, and stroked the filly’s smooth pale purple and cerulean mane to the side of her face. She had pale pink fur, a shimmering pale pink horn, delicate, soft, tiny wings, and a happy, yet sleepy smile. “What should we name her?” Proud Sky questioned to Moonflower. “Hmm… I like, Stardust, because her horn glimmers like it is softly glazed in stardust, and it took quite a miracle of a star for an alicorn to be born. Yes. Perfect. Stardust Sky.” The two parents exchanged proud, smiling looks, and Moonflower looked back at the nurse. “Please document that her name is officially Stardust Sky.” Moonflower said with a regal tone of voice. Moonflower gave Stardust a kiss on her forehead, and handed her to the unicorn nurse, who carried her off in her horn aura. “Now honey, you’re probably exhausted, why don’t you go to sleep. We can take her home tomorrow, since we both need our rest, and so does she. Goodnight.” They exchanged a kiss, and Proud Sky walked towards the reclining chair, reclined, and drifted off into a semi-restless sleep, along with Moonflower.
