Spike and Silver held off the unorganized stampede of machines as Twilight fought Glimmerbot and Shimmerbot for control of the map, every landmark disappeared and reappeared under their hooves as electricity fought and absorbed magic. Hooves and horns collided as Princess Twilight Sparkle of Equestria Prime held nothing back against a crazed mare of steel and a desperate mare of iron who should have stayed at school.
"This is all your fault, princess!" Glimmerbot spat as she regained her balance on the map. "You just had to mess with time!"
"No, it's your fault for screwing with time," Twilight replied. "Well, technically not this you since Sonic's worlds merged with ours before we met but assuming those worlds were branching timelines then a single world ran by robots would've appeared and taken over so I never followed my map arrive in your town."
Silver added his two cents, "And since robot Twilight doesn't have wings, that further supports the deviation of the path further since she's not a princess here."
"Good eye, Silver!"
A giant blue fist launched the two robot ponies from the map as Sonic climbed on with Silver and Spike. The scroll hovered above, creating a force field. Sonic waved, returning to normal as they floated, "Let's get out of here!"
The robot Elements of Harmony pawed at the magic wall, Pinkie Prime visibly frowning with a sadder Sweetiebot on her back.
Before leaving Twilight shouted, "Remember! Magic is nothing without honesty, loyalty, kindness, generosity, and laughter!"
The map vanished but in its place were six floating cyborgs, whose magic spread far and wide with various effects of either giving everybody their freedom or returning them to normal or almost normal.
Robotnik watched the screen as the light flooded his vision and chamber, "WHAT IS HAPPENING?!"
Sitting on a throne of various metals, lights, and wires as an egg-shaped man turned into stone colder than his heart. The world could never be the same but it would be rebuilt better and stronger than before led by Princess Celestia and President Nightmare Luna.
"That was a bit cheesy," Silver commented.
Sonic rolled his eyes, "And the magical land of colorful talking ponies and animals isn't?"
Silver sighed, "No, our universe ending so that a pony universe could begin is ridiculous; Twilight's statement-"
Twilight groaned, "We get it; you're a critic. At least I got their Elements of Harmony working before we left instead of leaving it to rot. I can imagine better situations like a war between Equestria and normal-yet-still-dark Sombra's Crystal Empire or Discord ruling Equestria. I hate to imagine what it must feel like..."
Spike hugged Twilight, "Well, at least you didn't kill trapped ponies..."
Sonic frowned, "I doubt this will help but from what I remember from Dad and Uncle Chuck's stories, you would be doing them a favor."
Spike nodded, "It doesn't but thanks." The group fell back in dark Cloudsdale, suddenly frozen in a purple crystal that slowed their descent.
The three headed form of... whatever we name this thing loomed over them. The elegant form of King Solaris Sombra hovered to the right as Nightmare Moon with glowing blue eyes as razor sharp teeth hovered to the left as Nightmare Time Eater. Both being branched off a corrupt Starlight Glimmer like wings as the three fought to stay together and fall apart.
"We will be with you shortly!" Starlight shouted, "You fools! I am the eclipse!"
"We never agreed on that. You are nothing, mortal." Sombra stated in a calm tone as light shone from him instead of smoke.
Nightmare Time Eater kept pulling, "NO! We are the new rulers of Equestria! Nay, the world!" She let out a feral scream, "Pull harder, Sombra!"
"Our revenge is at hoof!" Starlight begged.
"No. Our beef is with Celestia before Twilight and company found the Elements." Solaris Sombra replied peacefully yet still pulling against Starlight. "You already made a couple of timelines that were not even close to a destroyed Celestia."
"But you led the crystal ponies on a war path or Robotnik killed everyone including himself within doomed immortality running on depleting fuel sources!" Starlight countered.
"Celestia won and the Twilight your fighting made sure Celestia won in that timeline!" Nightmare replied.
"So we have a reason for revenge, right?! Twilight makes sure Celestia wins but we don't want either to succeed!" Starlight continued to shrink to normal size as she begged.
The group sat on the crystal, watching their foe self-destruct. Silver shared his notes with Twilight, "So this fight will make sure you and your friends never meet to get the Elements, Rainboom or not. You six will still have a connection but there's no object keeping everyone together."
"And I would either still be in my library or alone with Spike renting my tree library as a home," Twilight added.
"Discord takes over preventing Cadence's Wedding with chaos in place which doesn't give the changelings a target..."
"Tirek still escapes..."
Sonic got up, "So when do yours truly fall into the picture?" The duo groaned, scribbling as Sonic hopped onto the clouds. "Alright, question: Who do I have to beat up in order to send Nightmare Moon back to the moon, King Sombra to Hell, and allow Solaris to unexist again?"
Starlight quickly shot the group into another timeline.
Nightmare Solaris Time Sombra reformed, glaring with four mismatched eyes, "Was that really necessary? I was aching for a fight..."
"Well, you don't care about how I feel!" Starlight snapped back.
"Exactly. Your origin and motivations are foolish and not worth caring about." the dark being replied as the pony fumed.
Sonic fell on his face... again, coughing up dirt as Silver floated slowly to the ground. When Sonic sat up his jaw dropped, "Silver, we've gone too far! It's Ancient Rome! Or Greece! Or Italy- Very old someplace!"
Silver chuckled as he pointed to a statue of an obese Little Sonic wearing a crown, bigger than the Discord statue supporting it from below. "Nope, this is another alternate timeline."
Sonic eyed the statue up and down then back at himself, "Dang, he really let himself go!"
"Mush! Move! Go! Faster! Hurry up, already!" Our two hedgehogs followed the sound of whipping to see fat Sonic, a well decorated Sonia, and... Manic. Like, this Manic doesn't look any different from ours besides the fact he wore his outfit before Rarity's alterations. They were on an unstable gold chariot being pulled by so many ponies with Sally Acorn and Amy Rose up in front and Scourge the Hedgehog at the head, looking worse for wear than the ponies. "I can outrun you lot!"
"Then why don't you?!" Apple Jack snapped, getting whipped in response.
"You WILL obey your king!" Manic shouted, tossing a stick at the wrong pony.
"What did I do wrong?!" Derpy panicked, speeding the chariot. "I don't know what went wrong!"
"I'd say chili dogs and waaay too many onion rings!" Our Sonic said, knocking the dough ball off the chariot and tossing Manic while Silver detached the harnesses with his powers. "Go, freedom! Do whatever free ponies do!"
Maud ran up to fat Sonic, firing her party rock canon, "Eat banded gneiss, you fat lard! Haha!" She fired another decorated rock, propelling herself as she rode her canon far away.
"You don't see that every day, right Twilight?" Sonic turned then looked around.
"Spike and Twilight didn't show up with us, catch up," Silver replied tossing the chariot at Sonia, which was deflected by Scourge, that landed behind her without wheels. Trixie got on, revving it's nonexistent engine as she sped away with Snips and Snails at her sides. "Now that's physically impossible!"
Sonia smirk, hugging Scourge, "Oh, my dear, we need to send these interlopers to the dungeon with Robotnik's rebels. Can you help us, pleeease?"
"Your wish is my command, Queen Sonia," Scourge replied. As he turned towards Silver, Sonia began playing her keytar, turning Scourge into Super Scourge... somehow.
Silver's heart stopped. Now, if he brought a chaos emerald; he could take on Scourge but without a powerup, he would need Sonic though seeing as Sonic is fighting Manic while the chubby one held him down... things didn't look good. "Sonic, we need to retreat!"
