Asgore paced back and forth in front of the portal, full of worry. Asriel looks at the portal and then looks at Asgore.
"Dad, isn't mom supposed to be here by now?" He asked.
"M-maybe she went out for a drink or something with Celestia or something...there has to be an explanation!" He openly suggested, unknowing to the fact he sounded like Twilight. Asriel was slightly worried, when the door opens. He looks back and notices celestia and a unicorn next to her.
"Celestia!" He said. Celestia smiled and approached Asgore.
"Worried about your wife?" She asked. Asgore nodded.
"Do you know where she is?" He says. Celestia nodded back.
"It's a wonderful surprise!" She said happily. Asriel is confused.
"A surprise?" he asked. Celestia nods and they teleport to the hospital. Asriel looks around, even more confused.
"Why are we at the hospital?" He asks, then his eyes widen. "Did mom get hurt!?" He yells. Celestia giggles and shakes her head.
"No, your mother is fine! Just follow me!" She said. Asgore stayed quiet as Celestia led them through the halls. Asriel walked close to Asgore, unsure of what happened to his mother. Celestia stops at a door and opens it. Asriel walks into the room, and notices Toriel was hooked up to some machines, asleep. He runs to her.
"Mommy!" He yells. Asgore walks over and leans his head down to hers.
"Honey?" He asked. Toriel grunts and starts to open her eyes slowly.
"A-Asgore..?" She asked.
"What's going on, honey?" Asgore asked. Toriel looks around.
"W-Where am I?" she asked.
"The hospital...I don't know why..." he said. Celestia clears her throat.
"Toriel. You're pregnant." She said. Toriel's eyes widen and she gets up quickly.
"WHAT!?" she yells. Celestia gasps.
"Toriel, you must not get up!" She said. Asgore collapses onto the floor unconscious. Toriel moans as the world still spins around her.
"Are you alright?" Celestia asked Toriel.
"It's...it's just too much to take." Toriel said.
"What makes you say that?" Celestia asked.
"Because I haven't had a child in over a thousand years." Toriel said.
"A thousand years..." Celestia shook her confused head. Toriel nods and sighs, but smiles.
"But, I'm still happy." She said.
"That's good! think you can handle three kids and an unconscious husband?" Celestia asked, looking down at Asgore who was sucking on his hoof. Toriel chuckles slightly.
"Anypony got any water?" She asked.
"We would if you didn't break yours!" Celestia laughs. "Get it!" She laughed. Toriel chuckles happily. With a giggle, Celestia turns to the door.
"I'll get some water." She said. Toriel looks over at Asriel and holds him close, tears in his eyes.
"I'm so happy mommy. We're going to have another brother or sister." Asriel sniffed happily. Toriel smiles and hugs him, then looks at Sunset.
"Oh, ash, Sunset, this is my son Asriel. Asriel, Sunset Shimmer." she said. Sunset was asleep in the chair, her mane blocking her eyes so nopony could tell if she was awake or not. Toriel has a sheepish look.
"Oh, ah, never mind, she's asleep." She chuckled lightly. Asriel laughs a little. Celestia returns with a cup of water in her magical yellow aura.
"Here Toriel." She said with a smile, floating it over to her.
"Also, I must correct myself... if you had broken your water, then the baby wouldn't still be in you!" She chuckled a little. Toriel chuckles a little, then dumps the water of Asgore. Asgore gasps and snaps awake, sitting up instantly.
"T-T-T-Toriel! W-wh-wha-what was t-that for!?" He yells.
"You fell unconscious, so I did that to wake you up." She said.
"Oh..." he said. Toriel giggles, then looks at her stomach.
"I can't believe it Asgore. We're going to have a child." She said happily. Asgore takes a deep breath.
"I know honey." He said. Tears appear in her eyes. Asgore smiles softly.
"I'm so happy Asgore." She said.
"Me too." Asgore said. Toriel wipes her eyes as she hugs Asgore. Asgore gently hugs back. Toriel lays her had on Asgore as tears fall from her face. With a sniff, Asgore finds himself crying as well. More and more tears of happiness fall from Toriel's face. Asgore held her tight, drying her tears.
"We're having another child, honey." He sniffed happily. Toriel smiles warmly at Asgore and nods.
"This is the best day of our lives." She said happily.
"If only frisk where here...both of them." He chuckled softly. Toriel chuckles as well.
"I'm sure that they would be ecstatic to hear I'm pregnant." She said. Asgore notices that Asriel is asleep next to Toriel. Toriel warmly smiles at him.
"He's such a good little colt." Asgore said, nuzzling him. Asriel mumbles softly in his sleep.
"Daddy..." He mumbles. Asgore rubs his head. Asriel snuggles against him.
"Celestia." Asgore said softly, pulling Asriel close to him. "Can you get Frisk for us?" He asked. Celestia nods and walks out of the room. Toriel looks at Asgore with a smile, wiping her eyes. Asgore holds Asriel close, running a hoof over his mane.
"We've missed you so much." He sniffed. Asriel has a small smile as he slept.
"We love you so much." Asgore sniffed, wiping his eye. Asriel's leg twitches as he slept. Toriel lays back down, just as Sunset slips off the chair she was sitting on and hits the ground. With a gasps she snaps awake.
"I'm up!" She yells. She sits up and looks around. "Oh, hey Asgore." She yawned. Toriel looks over.
"Oh, hey Sunset, have a nice fall?" She chuckled. Sunset rolls her eyes.
"Winter is already rolling in as if fall wasn't enough." She said as she stood up, brushing herself off. Toriel chuckled.
"Anyways, Sunset, Asgore, Asgore, Sunset. And Sunset, meet Asriel, out son." Toriel said, pointing at Asriel.
"Aww, ain't he cute." Sunset said, smiling at him. Toriel nods in agreement.
"And were waiting for another member of our family, Frisk." She said. Sunset nodded and looks down at her hooves.
"it's....nice to be a pony again..." She said. Toriel smiles.
"you must be happy to be back." She said. Sunset nodded.
"But I need to go back..." She said. Toriel sighs.
"I know, but the portal is stuck." She said. Sunset went to scratch her mane, but only bopped her head with her hoof.
"Ow...yeah...don't have fingers..." She said, rubbing her head and looking at her hoof. Toriel closes her eyes and sighs again. Asgore nuzzles Toriel as Celestia walked back in with Frisk giggling as she was latched onto Celestia's right hind leg. Toriel smiles at Frisk.
"Frisk," She said. Frisk sees Toriel and smiles widely before running up to the bedand jumps into her lap.
"Mommy!" She said happily. Toriel hugs her.
"Hey, frisk." she said happily.
"I love you, mommy!" Frisk said happily, hugging tight. Toriel nuzzles her.
"Hey, sweetie, there's something I need to tell you." She said.
"Yeah?" Frisk asks, looking up at her. Toriel warmly smiles at her.
"Frisk , well, I'm pregnant." She said. Frisk gasps.
"You are!?" She asks, looking at Toriel's belly. Toriel nods with a warm smile.
"Yep, that means you're going to have a brother or sister." She said.
"Yay!" Frisk yelled happily and hugs Toriel. Toriel hugs and nuzzles Frisk.
"This is great news, mamma!" Frisk says with tears in her big eyes. Toriel nods and lays her head against Frisk, tears in her eyes as well.
"I know, Frisk. I know." She said. Frisks started to cry softly.
"I'm so happy you adopted me." She cried softly. Asgore smiled and nuzzles Frisk.
"We're happy we adopted you." He said. Toriel smiles and also nuzzles Frisk, when a knock happens on the door. She looks up and sees Twilight.
"Oh, Twilight!" she said.
"I heard about the news!" Twilight smiled as she trotted in. Toriel smiles and nods. Suddenly, Pinkie pie came running in in a flurry of pink. Asgore grumbled.
"Too many ponies for one room..." he mumbles. Toriel giggled at Pinkie's antics. Asgore sort of clung to Toriel. Frisk notices Asriel so she cuddles up against him, and tries to nudge him awake. Asriel grunts and opens his eyes sleepily, he lifts his head and yawns.
"Huh?" He asked sleepily. Frisk cuddles into him and nuzzles his chest.
"Can you hold me, brother?" She asked. Asgore smiled at them.
"So, what are you planning on naming the child?" Sunset asked. Asriel nods and hugs Frisk. Toriel looks over at Asgore.
"How does, Fiery Heart sound Asgore?" Toriel asked.
"Sounds good if it's a filly in there!" Asgore chuckled, poking Toriel's belly.
"I love you so much, big brother, Asriel!" Frisk said. Toriel giggles at the poke. Asriel smiles.
"I love you too, Frisk." She said. Frisk hugs Asriel tightly. Asriel hugs back. Toriel looks at Asgore with a smile.
"Asgore, I'm so happy." Toriel said.
"Me, too." Asgore smiled, rubbing Frisk's head, earning a giggle from her.
"You know what this calls for!!!?" Pinkie yelled.
"What?" Asgore asked.
"A PARTY!!!!" Pinkie yelled. Asgore laughs hysterically.
"Me party? Never!" He laughed. Pinkie tilts her head in confusion.
"What do you mean never?" She asked.
"I'm not good with parties..." He mumbles. Pinkie wraps an arm around Asgore.
"Oh come on, you can't be that bad." She said.
"Right. I'm worse, hehe." Asgore said.
"Well anyway, I need to get it ready!" Pinkie said, running off. Frisk and Asriel run around, smiling happily. Toriel has tears in her eyes as she looks at her two happy children.
"They are so cute." Asgore smiles. Toriel wipes her eyes and pulls Asgore into a hug as Asriel and Frisk fall asleep next to each other. Asgore hugs back. Toriel cries softly against Asgore, hugging him slightly tight with a wide smile, when there was another knock at the door.
"I'll get that." Celestia said, walking towards the door. On the other end, Queen Chrysalis was standing.
"Before you go shouting my name and shooting lasers, Celestia, just please...allow me to speak to Toriel..." Chrysalis said.
"Whatever you're her for, I don't trust you around Toriel!" Celestia hissed.
"I wouldn't expect you to, but I must speak with her..." Chrysalis said softly, lowering her head a little.
"Celestia, let her speak." Toriel said, sitting up. Celestia glared at Chrysalis.
"Very well." She stepped aside and Chrysalis slowly walked in. Chrysalis slowly walks to the bed.
"Mind if I sit?" She asked. Toriel smiles and nods.
"Sure." She said. Chrysalis sat and looks at a sleeping Frisk and Asriel.
"She seems so happy..." she said. Toriel nods.
"She is. She's happy because we're there to protect her." She said. Frisk wakes up and looks and sees Chrysalis, then with a frightened gasp she quickly hides behind Toriel. Chrysalis looks down.
"I...I want to thank you...for caring for her after I mindlessly threw her out of the hive. Other things too..." She sniffed. Toriel places a hoof on Chrysalis's shoulder and gives her a warm smile. Chrysalis places a hoof over Toriel's and smiled back.
"The love you gave me was more than enough for my subjects...and they've been rather happy...they even sing and they...they even built a statue of you, calling you their savior." Chrysalis said. Toriel's eyes widen in surprise.
"W-What?" She asked. Chrysalis nodded.
"I mostly have to thank that you don't see me as such a monster...I don't try to be..." She said, lowering her head. "Desperate times call for desperate measures...I have to feed thousands of changelings, Toriel! Th-they look up to me! They're all mostly too weak to even do their day jobs, tunneling more for the hive...then to have to fight the elements of harmony...it's a lot to ask of them..." She sniffed. Toriel suddenly pulls Chrysalis into a hug. Chysalis gasped in surprise, but then returned the hug...and cried.
"Your pushing yourself too hard, Chrysalis. You should slow down. If you continue, you'll push yourself over the edge." Toriel said.
"Like I haven't several times enough?" Chrysalis sobbed, crying into Toriel's chest, while Celestia watched in total shock. Toriel hums a soft tune to try and calm Chrysalis down. She reduced herself to gradual sniffles and pulls away from Toriel and rubs her muzzle with a hoof.
"I just cried in front of Princess Celestia...I'm never going to hear the end of this..." She sniffed.
"You mustn't be too hard on yourself, you must be strong." Toriel said.
"I try to be...for my subjects..." Chrysalis sniffed. Twilight clears her throat.
"So I take it no more full scale invasions?" she said sheepishly, earning a glare from Chrysalis. Toriel also glares at Twilight, then looks at Chrysalis.
"May....may I have a look." She asked.
"At what?" Chrysalis asked.
"Your hive. I want to have a look at your hive, because is sounds like they live underground, like how me and my family lived." Toriel said.
"Oh sure! If...you're up for the trip..." Chrysalis said, sounding a little better. Toriel looks at Asgore.
"Would you like to come, Asgore?" She asked.
"Eh, sure, why not? I'm curious to see this statue!" Asgore said. Chrysalis smiled softly and hugs Toriel again.
"Thanks for...being my..my friend..." She sniffed, tightening her hug. "Thank you." She sniffed again. Toriel smiles and hugs back/
"Anything for a friend." She said.
"Well, I'm gonna get going...got to lower the sun." Celestia said, then teleports away.
"M-mind if I stay for a bit, Toriel? I never had a friend before...I don't know how it works..." Chrysalis asked. Toriel nods.
"Sure." she said.
"Thanks." Chrysalis sits next to Toriel and Frisk climbs into Chrysalis' lap. Frisk smiled up at her, and Chrysalis rubbed her head.
"It seems that she has finally warmed up to you." Toriel said. Frisk hugs Chrysalis.
"She apologized!" She said. Toriel smiles widely.
"That's good!" She said. Chrysalis smiled and placed Frisk in Toriel's lap.
"So, what would you like to know about friends?" Toriel asked. Chrysalis smiled.
"Everything!" Chrysalis said. Toriel nods and tells what she knows about friends to Chrysalis. Chrysalis listened closely, nodding now and again.
"Sorry if I don't know much about friends, living underground for a thousand years alone can do that." Toriel said. Chrysalis smiled weakly.
"I guess neither of us are as alone as we thought." She said, then hugs Toriel again. Toriel smiles and hugs back.
"I guess so. I have my family, and you have your hive." She said.
"They all wish to see you, Toriel...you've...given them a new hope..." Chrysalis sniffed, a tear appears in her eye. "Before you, I'd have to watch them drop dead one by one but now...they're happy. Something I could never provide for them." She sniffed, a tear falls from her eye. "We only..do the things we do since nopony wants to share their love with us and so...we began to just...take it." She sniffed. Toriel hugs Chrysalis slightly tighter.
"Shhh, everything shall be fine. I'm happy that your hive is happy." She said. Chrysalis smiles
"Thanks for being so understanding." She said. Toriel smiles as well.
"Hey, that's what friends are for." She said.
"Mamma can we adopt Chrysalis!?" Frisk beamed. Chrysalis chuckled.
"No, I'm afraid not." She said. Toriel warmly smiles at Frisk.
"As great as that may be, I don't know if Chrysalis's hive might like that." she said.
"They'd perceive me as a fool...but...I think you'd be more fit as their queen." Chrysalis said, looking down. "I don't know about being adopted, but being a kid again would be nice...to be carefree and not having to attack others and try and makes myself seem like such a big shot and fail at the end of it..." She sighed. Toriel places a hoof on Chrysalis's shoulder and gives her a motherly smile.
"You shouldn't push yourself." She said.
"You told me that already. I gotta go..." Chrysalis gets up, hugs Toriel one last time and quickly leaves.
"Wait, Chrysalis!" Toriel said. Chrysalis turns at the door.
"Yes, Toriel?" She asked. Toriel rubs the back of her neck. Toriel rubs the back of her neck.
"Well, when I get out of the hospital, can you show me your hive?" She asked. Chrysalis nods.
"Of course." She said. Toriel smiles, then looks at Frisk.
"HI, mamma!" Frisk said, nuzzling her. "I love you!" She said. Chrysalis smiles at the scene, then leaves. Toriel warmly smiles at her, then uses her magic to bring her family together and hugs them.
"I love you all, my wonderful family." She said. Chrysalis stood outside, listening."
"Wish I had a family..." She mutters. Toriel smiles as she hugs her family.
"You know, I could do something nice for Chrysalis and adopt her, I don't know." She said.
"Not sure how she'd feel about that..." Asgore chuckled, holding a sleeping Asriel close. Toriel sight.
"Only time will tell, only time will tell." She said.
